duplicate post courtisy of www.rubbish-internet-connections.com But whilst I'm here I will say that I think that they are stuggling for people to do the marshalling, if they cant get the marshalls, then you might find that they cant run some stages...

That would be great thanks Scott! Right Ive had clarification, that the training night is not mandatory, as you can do on the job training... HOWEVER if you can make the training evening then please do! Even if you are not sure if your going to make the event or not, and can defininitly make the training, then please come along, if nothing else if you can make it to the rally, you have then had the training it then makes things a lot easier on everyone...

Bad News mate, But at least you are getting another car in its place... Although I hope that they are giving you some thing better to make up for the trouble...

A Bit Different But What Do You Think? Now With Sound!
thefastone replied to uRaBu5's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Well I admit I do like the 6x4 oval that (magnex?) do... but I have to say that I'm unsure about this one... I think that I would have to see it in the flesh to say for sure, and I think that the inside of that would need to blacken down a bit too..... perhaps if the edges were rolled a little...? I think that it just looks a little flimsy...? please dont take my comments all bad like, as it does not look all as bad as that, it really does suit the cut out in the bumper... and I like the shape... -
Yeah I know exactly what your talking about like, Ive had a lot of very different experiences on the roads up until now, but one thing that Ive been noticeing in the past year especially, is that the manners have gone, well and truely, I always wave if someone lets me out, of if they do me a good turn, I'll even wave sometimes if I have right of way, as you know, some of the other muppets dont know about right of way and try to muscle though anyways, so if they have not been Crap about it, then I'll say thanks... Dont get me wrong, you get the occasional wave from the odd car that I let out, but thats few and far between... And yeah, ive had a lot of times that Ive been holding back, becasue I know the road comming up, and I know that theres traffic ahead, theres no way that I could go fast there, so ive not pushed, only to be harrassed by some other who obviously knows better... and You know, Ive noticed, that the worst drivers for aggression on the roads, have been the likes of the Vectras, and the Citroen Lagunas, and also the Ford mondeos.... the ones that think that they have big fast cars... and gives them licence to drive however they like... Although that Green Classic, I remember that Simmie was wanting a lookout kept for one of them that has be really been a pest around town... has been cutting up and gennerally driving dangerously, seem to remember that it was a young lad too... All this has really been food for thought for me, Ive recently been around a few garages looking for small cars for the missus when she passes her test, Toyota Aygo, VW Fox, Fiat 500 etc, Ive had test drives in all of them, on different roads, and cant say that I've really had any of those problems, but that was only one day, I dare say that theres still room for those problems... this just makes me worry more about her learning to drive...

Hi Folks, Just had an e-mail from the cheif marshall, and the Date for the Training evening has been set for the 20th April. I have been asking her a few questions, and am just awaiting a reply from them, but is there anyone else that is interested? we have a few interested folks over on Aberdeen Scoobies, is there nobody thats on here that wants to do it? Should be a good day, and as John says there will be the after event party for those that give up their time to make sure that the event CAN go ahead! Any of the Aberdeen crowd interested? Or the Elgin/Inverness massiv' perhaps?

Hey man, youve not realy said much about the car, but then its only worth what people are prepaired to pay for it... although, if everything is sound and its got a full service history, then I'm sure that you should get more than 2500.... but then I'm no expert in the price of cars... but I'd think that you really need to say more about it... Some times its all about the sales pitch!

TBH 3 points dont do a great deal to the cost of your premium... 6 they start to take notice... oh and they are not keen on bans either, but I found that my one only cost me about 100 more... not as bad as it could have been...

Yep Ive not seen it before, I like it! Cheers, nice find!

How many years no claims have you got though? that's said for a 25year old, I don't suppose that's toooo outrageous, I'm only just over the 500 mark, and have protected no claims... and I'm 28.

Direct line, dont actually own anything really.... in reality they are themselves as we say... POST EDITED Well looking at the RBS's web****e, (the corporate-whore site, ass opposed to the personal banking site... ) some of their more interesting brands include... Directline Privilidge Churchill TRACKER Devitt Green flag WorldPay (don't know if we still use them for the membership payments...?) The ONE account Streamline NATWEST MINT Lombard Direct TESCO finance and insurance a bunch of underwriters I was surprised the first time that I saw that list... but then you have to keep your portfolio varied I suppose... lol

Oh and be carful about the tracker Al, I found out the hard way, I had a tracker fitted from town and county, thinking yeah, happy Peace of mind. but then direct line would not touch it - wrong model of tracker apparently... You need a tracker for them, but tracker retrieve does not count...
-
I have to say that I was puzzled at that one myself... although, I could imagine there are ways and means to do it... I imagine that lowering it onto some form of soft padded trolley with a winch, and then rolling it off...
-
Kev at town and county, He'll do it to what very settings you want! and you get your SIDC discount if your a member! pays for itself you know!

Em in a MY96, I think that it may be safe to say that there may not be an airbag in your car? I dont know you have not said... However, Its prettty certain that the MY99 WILL be an airbag wheel... Like has been said by Strike, if its the case that you are going from a car that has no airbag, then there wont be the plug for you to plug into... therefore, you will have the airbag, which wont do anything... Not really sure on the best way about that, if you want THAT PARTICUALR wheel. there are some who know better than me on that... but then again if you already dont have an airbag, then you can consider going for a normal Momo wheel, there are some realy nice ones on the market, I personally on my last car, had the Momo "champion" I would have it on this car had it not been for the fact that I am not going to remove a safety device from my car, as such I am retaining it for a future car/project... One thing to bear in mind is that if you were to look at fitting an after market steering wheel to your car, its best to remember that these steering wheels (I'm using Momo as an Example) are universal wheels, and its worth noting that unless stated otherwise, you NEED to buy a fitting kit, (normally about £40 IIRC for the genuine Momo Part - remember don't scrimp on this, its saftey critical!) If it IS an airbag you have now then I cant help you, but if not then I hope this has helped mate!
