  1. Sounds like someone has stolen your can of Irn Brew

Just hope it's something stupidly easy to fix

It is. I think its the front sensor. It screws out, unclip it at the connection. Screw the new one in and clip it into the connector, job done. I'm not sure where there front one is though.

  2. Firstly, big thanks for Terzo Neil for sticking his doo-dah into the car and diagnosing the reason for my CEL. The fault code is P0031 H02s Heater Control Circuit Low (Bank1 Sensor1) Neil informed me that there are two sensors; one on either side of the turbo but he was unsure which one. So, can any one tell me which one it is and the best place to buy said sensor?

Many thanks, and thanks again Neil

  3. Jon, check out iClarified.com for a how to guide.
JB the phone Welsho and then get Dtunes - you can just use iPhone Explorer on your PC or Mac and copy any movies or MP3s into the relevant folder and DTunes will play them. I also use Handbrake to convert AVIs etc into MP4 for use on the phone. Again can get it for Mac and PC.

Also when you JB it you can put SBsettings on and it gives you very quick access to 3G/Wifi/running processes (like task manager on PC) and memory recovery which is great if the phone is running slow. I swith off 3G and Wifi when cycling and using the GPS and that saves a lot of battery power.

    Thanks guys :PB)

  4. Gosh, I wish my Android phone could do that.... oh wait a minute... :P

And just about every other phone as well. Can't even delete uploaded pics or Bluetooth them to others. Same with any other type of media. I detest having to use iTunes and if you click a checkbox here or there by mistake you end up losing stuff! You can create MP3 ring tones using iTunes though but what a carry on! It's defo not user friendly and pity the inexperienced user. Still though, the phone is easy to use, it's pretty slick and it looks good. Now if only the battery would last more than 5 minutes! B)

  5. I sold out about a month ago and joined the iPhone revoluton. So far so good. I have a couple of questions for those in the know: 1) can the latest iPhone be jailbroken? 2) can the apps store and iTunes still be accessed on the phone when jailbroken? 3) will apps downloaded from the app store, still work on a jailbroken phone? 4) what are the drawbacks (if any) of a jailbroken phone. 5) why would I want the JB anyway?

Ok ok, that was more than a couple

I'm currently on the £45/month contract on Voda. Oh I should say that games on the phone hold zero interest for me!

    Thanks!

  6. What's the rush dude ?

    Thanks Kev.

JAC, my coilovers are screwed. Tein Superstreet, need I say more? I have new springs to go on with the original shocks and he is going to fit them. I am off next week for a couple of weeks and keen to get it fixed

  7. Why don't you PM him ?

Two reasons: 1) I'm not so sure if he looks on here that often and I need to get a hold of him reasonably quickly; 2) I looked through the members and found craiddmcd. Notice the double D in the middle, so I'm not so sure that that is even him.

  8. near side rear mate, seal away and theres a wee hairline crack in it too ....

Same one as mine  I dunno the extent of the damage though. I'll watching this thread to see if anyone else can sort them out cheaper and faster. It's a shame the same ones are gubbed... might have been able to get working set between the two of us. Oh well.

  9. already spoken to dunc mate, weve got a few options, still a pisser to have to buy another set for the sake of 1 shockie thats needing refurbed tho....

stewartyboy, do u have a phone number for them??

    scott

Same here mate. Freaking joke. Which one of yours is needing fixed? I have ordered a set of springs from Revolution and he also quoted me over £200 per shock - which is more expensive per unit that a new set. Foolishly enough, I have orded Tein springs :whistle:

  10. I think of you as a mate, which means that I'm allowed to take the piss...

I was just taking the pee back B)

C'mon guys we all know where this is going. Buy your government approved electric car that complies with every fcukin rule this a*** end of a government decides WE NEED AND PAY for then everything will be fine. You cant have that number plate on your car because it doesn't have this BS mark or that stupid mark on it - never mind illegal spacing of the frikin letters. Speed bumps - another piece of crap - i live directly opposite the primary school in my village and have on many occassions waved down the village fcukin idiot drivin past a 45 mph and launchin his chav mobile off the speed bumps where as i have to drive over them at less the 5 mph or the splitter gets done in. Ooooo, you dare to have a car that is different, oh well **** you, we will decide that you have to pay £405 a year for road tax because your car exhaust stinks, well **** you, go to fcukin Nigeria and see the polution pouring out of every industrial area there, or go to China and shut down all of the unrestricted power stations burning full blood coal FFS!

    Rant over..............................ish!

Speed humps are ok as are calming schemes, within reason. I have seen both set up in tight streets with parked cars where it is impossible to drive more than 10mph anyway. One can clearly see that these measures are not borne out of safety, but are the product of surplus funds that are used up to enable some department or another to get more funds the following year. There are those huge square type lumps of concrete on some of the roads here and on those going past schools. The trouble is, buses can straddle them and do, and pass at silly speeds (for a bus). Also, the road that surrounds these humps are sinking and breaking up, in part because of shoddy workmanship and in part to lorries and buses straddling them. It's virtually impossible for me to pass these and if I do, I have to do so with extreme caution, if I get it wrong the underside of the car is dragging across them... I posted pics of underside damage to the car a while back on one of these. These measures are utterly senseless and help no one. In work if I don't crawl of the speed humps and brake on the way down, there is a sickening thud and the car hits them.

It is getting to the point that the only road-worthy vehicle is a 4x4 and a big ass one at that, especially now global warming has becoming global freezing and we are going to get lots more snow in winter B)

  11. ha Kenny, that would be legendary!!!! Take pics!!!!

John, FFS mate, You sound so hard done by, I agree that there are so many things that do take away from the joy of driving, but mostly its all about town... I mean listen to yourself, You mention School Zones???? Mate, don't you have kids???? I mean really? Speed humps I detest, but I also hate People speeding past schools and my house... theres no win there... I'd rather that some knobhead wasn't trying to wipe out YOUR KIDS....

its NOT ****ING DIFFICULT to keep your car legal... not in the slightest... so stop bitching about it...

and I will at this time point out that on both my bikes, my plates were illegal. Blatantly. But I also knew that if I got pulled for them, then its a fair cop, I'm not going to whine about it, I know the law, I'll just take the hit for it...

    Peace out!

(Oh, and edited to add: that I was said that you got off lightly I was referring to the Bobbies, some being infinitely bigger c*nts than others...) B)

I don't have kids, I have never tried to wipe out kids and I have never know anyone who has tried to wipe out kids. Now, deal with all the other points that were made and stop picking out an emotive instance and sensationalising it and trying to make me look the fool, I can assure you, I'm not

    B)

  12. Ha!

The BBC F1 website has a 90second highlight clip - I'm wondering what 89seconds of that is going to be about???

Hahaha!!! Now if it were I saying all these things, you'd be slagging me off. Sadly, I never got to see the race. I had it recorded and stumbled upon the result so never bothered to watch it. I was most annoyed until I read this thread!

  13. Some of the newest cameras can do those sort of high ISOs extremely well - quite amazing really - as shown above - not as noisy as you'd expect.

Here's a new random shot - took this today whilst at the zoo with the family today. It was through glass sadly but I did the best I could whilst jostling Italian tourists out the way

Yeah, the 5D is really good considering the scandalously high ISO setting of 6500.

If you're shooting through glass, remove the lens hood, and push the lens flush with the glass, then if you can, wrap a black jumper or something around the lens to minimize the light reflecting on the glass. Better results every time  Alternatively, remove the glass and get eaten! ;)
