  1. Hi John

Sorry to see you go, but glad you got it sold

was it an SIDC member who bought it?

ANYWAY SOMEONE HAS JUST BOUGHT A GREAT CAR FOR AN EVEN GREATER PRICE!

    DONT BE A STRANGER

and anyway you will come back someday

    CHEERS

Cheers Craig. It wasn't a member, It was some guy from Leeds who bought it via PH. I dropped it off yesterday :)

  2. Extended warranties: a license to print money IMO, wouldn't touch such with a barge-pole, especially anything to do with Subaru. Anyway, I have a set of Tein Superstreet coilovers two of which need servicing. If you can get them sorted for less than the cost of a new set up, you can have them for nothing. The condition they are in might be better than your shocks anyway. But definitely DO NOT replace them with stock. I can't believe they sell them for £350 each! That's a scandal!

  3. Ah well, the Scoobie finally sold today. Had a "life flashed before me" moment as I handed it over, recalling all the great times and great people I have met over the last three or four years. Thanks for the ride guys, it was awesome.

  4. I think I got lucky when I sold mine as it went in less than a fortnight. I remember you were interested at the time as well Gaz. Welsho's still trying to shift his too and it's a cracking car.

Just not a seller's market at the moment at all.

Thought about We Buy any car?

Yup, same here. Tried about everything; car isn't shifting, I'm stuck with it. I'm slowly beginning to regret ever getting involved with it. :(

  5. It's a disgrace that motor manufacturers don't provide a spare wheel or space-saver. Perhaps it will take a situation like the one above to end in painful tears before someone is held to account for this sort of neglect-for-profit approach. I bought a 59 plate Civic a few months back and no spare, so it is commonplace and today I was just thinking what I'd do if I got a puncture. Glad it was a "happy" ending though.

  6. ....and no ETTL

....unless you spend a lot more for a pocket wizard!

....but then still cheaper than a 7D ;)

True, but ETTL isn't exactly brilliant. It's just a case of tinkering with the flash settings and viewing the results on the wee telly at the back of the camera. A then there's RAW editing to finish it off :) What benefits does a 7D have with off-camera flash?

  7. Good foto Dale, now if you had a 7D you could use a flash gun wireless :-)

    Mint

You can use your flashgun wirelessly with any camera assuming you have the transmitter and receiver kit to do it. They come pretty cheap on eBay and Jessops (the camera equivalent of Halfords) do one at £59, brand name: hahnel. Pretty good build quality and performance

  8. I received a call from Cardata (cardata.co.uk) who want to sell my car for me. They charge £99 and list it for 28 days. They claim to sell 85% of cars within the first 7 days. Anyway, any one ever heard of them and are they any good?

    Cheers :tumbleweed:

  9. Does anyone know if a lambda sensor from a 2001-2005 2.0 WRX will fit a 2006 2.5 WRX - plenty of listings for the early ones, but none for the 2.5

Won't fit mate. I got one from an earlier model to replace mine and it didn't fit. Peter sourced it from Greers I think.

  10. Thanks again guys. I have thought about changing the wheel-colour back again, but that's jsut more expense. I have a set of STi8 wheels with Eagle F1s that need powder coated, so I might do those in gold. All the other orange stuff, stripes etc have been removed. I have thought the wheels being orange wouldn't stop people buying it. I think I'll give Gumtree a bash!

    Cheers!

    EDIT: Now on Gumtree :)
