there will be 2 cats on a newage sti. One in the downpipe and one between the downpipe and the centre section. The WRX has one in the up pipe iirc. Chris

Cambelt done as has all the annual services. Rear shocks getting replaced before I buy as they were knocking.

Ok so I have bought an 04 plate Sti and granted it has only done 41k and has full main dealer service history but is there anything I should be looking out for that may be needing replacing? Hoses etc? Cheers Chris

Panel filter is fine for what you plan to do. Pipercross is getting some good reviews. Is the CEL on when you drive? If car hasn't been re-mapped then you should get this done.

Hello and welcome. Has the car been remapped due to it having a decat and bov? Upgraded panel filter is a good move. Lot of folk using performance friction pads these days but I am just getting back into this modding malarky as I am getting my 3rd scoob on Sunday. Been away from the fold for 2 years but you always end up back. Chris

Apart from fuel pump is there anything else I should be looking out for on the new whip with it being 8 years old? Hoses perishing etc etc???

Confirmation through and it is all systems go for pickup on Sunday. First stop will be shell to top up with some of the good stuff.

Well after 2 years away I am returning to the scooby scene. Subject to insurance approval I have bought a 04 plate silver Sti with oz alloys and prodrive backbox. Am with directline so hopefully they won't be akward about this change. Will just shift to another company if they do.

steak on a stone is a must. ride in the ring taxi is a must. Went in April this year and had a great time. No matter how many laps you do on th xbox/playstation nothing will prepare you for the track. Fill up at dover then if you can make it all the way to the ring then fill up with the BP100 fuel you get at the petrol station right next to the ring.

this is one of those things that you have to just take the plunge and do. I was very cautious when initially booking our trip as i had read all the horror stories re costs and opted for the RSR hire car and when over there and did the hire car thing i then got over the fear and took my own car on track. Everyone there seemed to have a great respect for the track and we felt 100% safe. I guess there is always the chance that you will get one idiot taking a risk but you get that anywhere. The good thing about going via nurburgringuk.com is that you can get in passenger laps with either Dino or other folk on the trip and get comfortable with the track and then decide whether to hire a car or go on track on your own car. Only drawback is that if you don't hire a car prior to going you can end up only getting a choice of a porsche or something expensive. We loved it som uch we are going back next year.
