  1. Well for cai what makes are good these days? Does anyone run just an induction kit on stage1/2 modifications? If so what make? Cheers
  2. i did some research and as far as i can tell the cai is a better route as the induction kit can cause issues but then people have managed to modify the kits and have had no issues. I then read about keeping standard airbox and taking out the big palstic resonator box in the wing whioh gives a bit of induction noise but it looks as though this reduces performance. I forgot how confucing and conflicting modding was lol.
  3. Standard airbox is what Andy recommends. Maybe go for cai or induction cone if I ever fit a bigger turbo
  4. Just as well none of that is on your car otherwise you may be a target for the noise police lol.
  5. It is just something that seems to be getting more and more common. I don't understand how it is monitored
  6. Have been reading a post in sent about police clamping down on excessively loud exhaust own outh. Just wondered what people thoughts wre nd if anyone in Scotland has had similar experience regarding exhaust? From why I can tell if it is louder than standard it is illegal according to the thread. Chris
  7. Well that is almost a year I have had the scoob and it is booked in for an mot tomorrow. Hopefully it will have no major issues. It is still relatively standard
  8. Ok I know it is not essential for level of power mods I am looking at but I think that they sound good so question is what is better and what make etc would you recommend? Looking at sportcat down pipe and not decat. Or is it better to keep std air box and good panel filter?. Cheers Chris
  9. Looking good. I love reading project threads. Chris
  10. Looking good dci lee. A few choice mods to keep you happy.
  11. I have the d3000 and although quite basic in terms of dslr functions it does the job. I did a photography course recently and the lecturer said the picture quality was impressive. I just got a new lens for my birthday and am being taken out by the good lady today to take some photos with it. Chris
  12. How about craigmcd or greers for this? Chris
  13. So can anyone advise if it is a 3 port I need and if so where to get one? Thanks Chris
  14. Are you guys running standard or modded cars?
  15. Ok so who has one fitted? Is it a must for non modded car that isn't a a daily runner? Should it be 2 port or 3 port? Baffled or not? Are they easy to fit? Cheers Chris
  16. Great documentary. Was good to see some of the old sidc crew make an appearance.
  17. Will keep that in mind. Where it came with mots I was trying to see if I could use them but guess I may be better going somewhere else. Cat still in and only 40k on clock so should be ok for mot
  18. Ok so hypothetically if you have the second cat delete pipe fitted on a sti but still have the first cat in place in the down pipe is this now an mot failure? Also should for whatever reason the car fail emissions test does that mean the garage doing the mot need to keep the car and do the work to get it to pass emissions test? Reason I am asking is that my car came with 2 years service and mot with Arnold Clark and with it being 8 years old and still having down pipe cat I am not wanting it to fail emissions then be stuck with Arnold Clark having to do the work as i would be getting willie at meerkat to fit a port cat for me. Cheers Chris
  19. It cost me 20 quid which was discounted from normal price. Had to wait a wee while to get it done as he is mobbed just now and think it was also due to it being christmas. All hand fabricated and made to whatever bore size you want.
  20. thanks to willie at meercat for fabricating a nice bung for the exhaust he made a few weeks ago for the scoob. Needed something to quieten it down a bit if we need to use it for work during the week. It now has no cabin drone and is stealthy. Bring on the good weather so i can release the full noise again lol. Looking forward to my first shot at removing it as Willie said all i have to do is loosen the bolt and turn on the engine and it should pop out itself  Will need to make sure gill is there to catch it. Chris
  21. Shame Santa cruise isn't happening as this is my first year back in a scoob and was going to attend. Good to see the kids are still going to get presents.
  22. Looks good. Welcome to turbo ownership and the maxing out of credit cards Chris
  23. Definitely one of those moments where you look at your handy work and feel proud even though your fingers are cut and bruised and it has taken a dozen attempts to do.
  24. Other rear droplink done after work tonight. It was dark but picked up a handy led head torch for a quid out the pound shop. Now for the fronts when it is dry and bright lol.
  25. Ok had one last try today and woo hoo managed to get rear driver side droplink off and new one on. Now trying the rear passenger side. Should have done this when it was brighter for longer.
