Carl Davey Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 Off to the darkest depths of Englandshire first thing tomorrow morning to go look at a Scooby. If the car is all it's cracked up to be then i'll mostly be spending the rest of the day on the M6. Wish me luck and gimme a wave if you see me! []

RS Grant Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 Good luck with an RA on the Motorway mate. [] Is that the one that was on SN that you helped out with the photos?? Cheers, Grant
bigbadboab Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 Are you no back yet???? Did ya get it and where's the pics? Come on man, were waiting[]
dave_morgan Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 He could be a couple of days on the M6 with the RA gearing !!! [] [] All be worth once it's home though []
WUZ Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 I'll assume that because he hasn't replied yet he is either: PI$$ED off as the car was not what he wanted OR Still driving it up the M6 as we speak. I remember that it tok me forever to get back home in mine (MY00 RA)....................but it was worth it. Especially when you consider what I paid for it, eh Carl[] Russell
Carl Davey Posted February 28, 2006 Author Posted February 28, 2006 Eventually got home last night at 01:30 after leaving at 05:00 that morning! Car was as expected and the seller an absolute gent so no problems what so ever on that front. Weather on the way home was a different matter altogether... sheet rain and blizzards which got particularly bad (snow lying) for the final 50 miles when i was most tired - good DCCD pratice though. [] The RA was ok on the motorway and averaged well over 300 miles to a tank. Bit of a heart stopping moment when i underestimated just how far Stracathro services were from Dundee and the fuel needle dropped below empty. [] Didn't go much above 80mph the whole way home for fear of speed cameras etc, which is 4000rpm in this one! Aye it's Martins old RA Grant, he finally came down to a price i thought warranted the journey. Wouldn't you like to know what i paid for mine Russ. [] [] I've been behaving.... honest![] Usual scabby STi manifold (not for long!). The fun wheel. [] Two pot rears. [H] Hedgehogs view.
SergeantScooby Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 sweet looking motor carl, trip was successful then
ANDYJDMSTI Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 Looks good..............even nicer brown handbag [][]
Carl Davey Posted February 28, 2006 Author Posted February 28, 2006 I know black is in this season Andy but it's my favourite one. [:$] []
RS Grant Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 I'm glad I brought that brown handbag to your attention Carl... Imagine what you would have done if you'd been seen with it?! [] As I've said, it looks great... and I'm standing by keenly waiting for the work to begin. Manifold first?? [H] Cheers, Grant
oobster Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 Very nice Carl [] Looks like it was well worth the journey.
rossyboy1 Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 Very nice Carl, welcome back to the world of scooby ownership! For Sale - One very well treated Cavalier Turbo...... []
dipsy Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 Very nice Carl your brave driving in that weather
Carl Davey Posted February 28, 2006 Author Posted February 28, 2006 Cheers all. Nobody mentioned the weather was closing in before i left, dumbass here didn't think to check the forecast and by the time it'd started it was too late. [] Grant, where would i be without your fashion advice? I was wondering if you could help me here, i can't decide whether to wear heeled or flat-shoed boots this season, what's you thoughts? [] Manifold and billet rails are first to be done yeah. Cavalier is staying Ross. The RA will use too much fuel to show the UK Turbos the way home all the time. []
gus the bus Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 Well done that man! Journey well worth it as new car looks braw![] Gus
RS Grant Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 Grant, where would i be without your fashion advice? I was wondering if you could help me here, i can't decide whether to wear heeled or flat-shoed boots this season, what's you thoughts? [] Oh... I'm afraid that shoes arent quite my speciality, I would go with heeled but to be honest you'll want to PM a guy that goes by the name Johnny50 on here... [][] I'll make sure that I keep an eye on the website for updates. [H] Cheers, Grant
scott_coull Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 Ive got a lovely set of 18s that would suit the car down to a t! [] Nice motor mate. Let the games begin...again Scott [H]
