  1. None of the buildings are being built on the SSSI, its just part of the course itself. The buildings are all on farmland a little bit inland. As far as I am aware, the course is being built around the dunes and stabilising them so that they dont blow away, not the other way round. Its an SSSI because of the way the sand is built up and moves around, a few small rarish plants and there are a few birds around. Its pretty bleak looking actually. Does anyone really care that much about some sand and a few plants? The birds will adapt and move on as there are miles and miles of this stuff on the Aberdeenshire coast. Yes we need more affordable housing (may about to happen anyway if prices crash), but if there are people who want the houses and can afford them, then why not build them? Some will become time-shares anyway no doubt and bring tourists in. The whole thing is a one off. Its not like we are going to get developments of this scale on SSSIs every year. I'm personally not bothered about what Trump wants out of it, its what it will bring in and there is no doubt that there is a net benefit to the North East/Scotland of allowing the project to go ahead.
  2. The PM petition is there just as a petition host really. Its being used as evidence by the local papers to present to the council. The council decision was not representative of the views of the majority of the population. It was voted out because the chariman (eco-friendly idiot) had 2 votes against it. Result 8-7 against. If the council sees that 80% of the population are backing the development, then they are more inclined to do something about it to save their jobs at the next election. There is another petition against the development, but it only has about 20% of the total who have registered. For me its about giving the area, and by default Scotland a tourism boost from the american market. Word of mouth and all that. Dont forget the cost of initial development. £1 billion is a serious wedge of cash to be going into the scottish economy.
  3. Scotland is in danger of losing out on Trump's £1 billion golf course development due to some numpty eco-friendly counsellors in Aberdeenshire voting against it. There is a huge amount of support gathering for the development here. If the council doesn't reverse its decision, Trump is going to Northern Ireland. Petition to support the development can be found here: http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/TrumpSupport/
  4. I have just recently had a bhp developments stamp put in my service book. Russell often does not claim for time that he takes to do the job right. Lets just say I said "is that all" when he told me how much it was. Add that to the 35+ hours he spent on the mods to my car and you cant fault him [Y]
  5. I have to say that the garage was unlocked. Totally bizarre that they only took the wheels though. I reckon someone has seen me coming out of the garage in the car or seen the wheels there when the car has been getting washed. Police took less than half an hour to turn up for the finger print check. Well impressed! No prints though. Really annoyed as they were perfect condition.
  6. Some cheeky fecker has been in the garage today and pinched my standard alloys. Totally immaculate set of 16 " MY95/96 WRX vintage with some just about legal tyres. Just to make folks aware in case any pop up for sale anywhere [8o|] They left various power tools alone for some reason [*-)]
  7. I get a lot of comments about how mint my '93 looks, but that thing is even better. 2 things I would do though: 1 lose the stripe down the side 2 Change those rear lights to either standard or a nice set of Sti lights, those make a very nice car look a bit chav. []
  8. Fantastic, there should be a lot more of this! [Y]
  9. You've no chance mate, my Mundano will hit 60 in 10.5 with a fair wind. Top speed is at least 118! They didnt do a passat VR6 estate did they?[]
  10. I'll give you a race down the strip at Crail. My Mundano v your Passat! [] Maybe even knockhill !
  11. Yeah I'm more of a scoobynet dweller and just pop over here briefly every so often. I'll leave Wuz to advise on where to go with yours as I've come at the modding from a more humble WRX [] His car is nigh on identical to yours without the mods. My car was going great, but then the weather turned not so good so thats it until next spring. The trusty modeo has been set free once again! I've seen you on the drive occasionally, but you cant blame me for being in my own world at pre 8am!
  12. Apexi do good induction kits aswell. List is endless for your car Ross! FMIC, headers, injectors, turbo, re-maps, AVC-R, heat management etc. At least you have an excellent base to start from, so shouldn't need to spend massive amounts to get great gains.
  13. Its the bit that you run a 22B in the winter that I cant get over. Most of us would cherish one and I wouldn't let it near any nasty salty roads. The joys of being loaded I suppose! []
  14. Its torque that kills gearboxes. Early ones cant take 300 ft/lb+ for any great length of time, though driver input has a lot to do with it []
  15. I think you'll find you have too much power for the box rather than using the wrong oil [] An Sti 4/5/6 box, or if you're feeling flush (£1,500+) a later 6 speed will sort it. I'm just counting the days until my old box gives up and I'll be in the same position []
