Gumball Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 Peter says- My list goes something like this...... 1.My dads Fiat Uno Formula in red(alright for first car that took me & my pals everywhere) 2.Vauxhall Nova 1.4SR in breeze blue.Done loads of mods to it.Lowered suspension, big whaals, big tunes,GSI body kit.and believe it or not i had it featured in Max Power November 1994. I must say i am proud of it as back then Max Power was actually a good modifed car magazine. And here is the prove but don't tell anyone. 3.VW Vento 2.0 GL in dusty mauve.Great German quality car. 4.BMW 325i E36 in montreal blue.Supersprint exhaust,Bilstine suspension, more tunes,Superchipped and tinted windows.I love this car till it got written off right outside my house due to flood damage... 5.VW Golf MK2 16V in Schwartz Black.Great car but engine was drinking oil when i bought it so i spent loads of money getting a G60 engine transplant. Was fun at the time.G60 engine sounded superb but loads of wheel spin in the wet. 6.VW Sharan 1.9 TDI Auto in silver.Family came so i bought a people carrier. My wife must have been thinking of a 5 a side team when we went to buy this.I still have this car and it has been great for doing everthing in.45mpg plus. Can't complain. 7.Mini Cooper Auto in Silver.Chilli pack.Brilliant car and cheap to run.Wife loved it and i washes it.Mini service was top class.Bought it for £12800 then traded it in for my battle ship.I got £10300 after 2 full years which meant i lost £1250 per year which is feck all in car ownership terms. And here it is.

nicholas_frame Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 Here's my strange list 1. Austin Mini 1000 W reg (slowed down on hills) 2. Ford Fiesta mk2 XR2 B reg (the boy racering commences - rip) 3. Ford Sierra XR4i C reg (went sideways into an oncoming astra in the snow - rip) 4. Ford Escort Mk1 RS2000 P reg (sold last week - boo hoo) 5. BMW M535i C reg (tin worm and overheated engine got the better of it - rip) 6. Ford Sierra XR4i C reg (t-boned by daft driver - guess the sex - rip) 7. Renault 5 Campus E reg (bought for £50 with MoT and lasted long enough - rip) 8. Renault 5 1.7 GTX F reg (beat mate's Yamaha Thundercat, but I'm god's gift to driving and he had only been riding a year - tee hee - rip) 9. Ford Escort Mk2 RS2000 R reg (sold last week - boo hoo) 10. BMW 320 Touring Auto G reg (still got it as daily hack - almost as thirsty as the scoob!) 10. Subaru Impreza WRX L reg (my latest purchase and fastest so far) My favourite so far has to be the Fiesta XR2, but before you cry out let me explain. It was no where near the fastest, but it handled so well after suitable suspension changes that it was great fun! On a twisty road I beat many a quicker car! The knack to this car was to be smooth and carry corner speed and momentum to be quick - it's easy being fast in a straight line. This car could be driven to it's absolute limits and encouraged you to do so every time you got behind the wheel. The escorts were fun too, but pre 80s build and interior quality let them down. I can hear all you scoobie owners cursing me, but please hold on. The handling on the WRX is amazing, but it just doesn't excite me in the way the xr2 did - it's too sterile! I like a car that you have to grab by the scruff of it's neck to get the best from. I bought a whiteline anti-roll bar yesterday, so once fitted I think the scoob will start to handle more the way I like it. I'll keep you posted!

sma01 Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 First car for me was a saxo VTR, then moved onto a MK4 Golf GTI turbo which was a very nice car to drive, before making the mistake of changing the gold for a Clio 172 Cup, which only lasted a few months as i wasnt too keen on the car. Then came the first scooby, a 2001 Bugeye WRX, then of course the STI8 I have got just now scott
