Anyways, I would have took on anything, especially performance cars to both see and hear them go,

I think this could be true. Had it a couple of times on the M8 when I'm casually going past an Astra/Fiesta etc and

they start speeding up again until I get annoyed enough to gun it down the road..........and have the wife shout at me

That's a MAJOR pet hate of mine!! I do a serious amount of motorway driving (90-100k per year, obviously not in scoob) and as such I use cruise control a lot, and I can be driving along comfortably gaining on a car, pull out to overtake and suddenly find that I'm no longer pulling on the car, and in fact, the TW@T has all of a sudden decided to increase his speed, even though he hasn't for the last visible few miles..... Do these people not actually pay attention to what's happening around them? Or do they get some kick out of making someone pull back in? I mean yes I could quite easily put the foot down and continue to pass at a higher speed, but I'm sorry I'd rather not ruin fuel economy, risk points etc etc all cos some plonker doesn't like to be overtaken..... Not just a problem for Imprezas, I drive a merc day to day.

Rant over ;) Back to boy racers, I agree with Badbaz, give it a wee blast (within reason) and give them a smile

You think its bad in a subaru, you should try using a motorbike. The number of time people have tried to race me away from the lights couldn't be counted and when on the motorway they love to sit right up my chuff.

I do get a few challenges in the car too, mainly from other "performance" cars though. Sometimes I can't be bothered and just ignore them but most times I do take the bait especially if it's a big money motor. If it's some lads in a hot hatch I've found 5 secs of antilag and some eye contact usually put them off before we even pull away.

i get it alot but i think its good fun, nothing better than beating a car so much that you can hardly see it.that what the sti is for, driving fast.

... Not just Sti's that do that :D

Love sitting at the light and a 'ned' car pulls up beside. I make sure that I look as if I'm going to go for it, you know, edge forward a bit / a wee rev or two. Wait for the lights to go green, sit still and watch the wee ned spin away 1000miles worth of tyres then he realises I've not moved. Hehe. :D

Don't get me wrong, theres a time and a place but 'ned' cars are not one of them

I remember not too long ago that I was the 'Boy Racer' in my little Nova 1.4 SR but I did know better than to mess with the bigger power cars, now that I am a little older and perhaps still a bit of a boy racer at heart I now know not to mess with the idiot in the 1.0 Corsa that should know better.

How times have changed :D

I was wondering, do you race pedal cars with this corsa? A few bits missing to make a good race with this one I think! :icon_salut:

lol obviously that was one of my 'work in progress' pictures. On that note i dont actually think i have any completed engine pictures lol.

And i dont waste my time with the pedal cars anymore, i'm much more mature than that now :).

Does my head in too, especially in the lorry on cruise at 56mph - muppets sitting at 55.5mph but the feel offended when I attempt an overtake and then speed up (baw bags).

Boy racers make me chuckle, especially the ones who get tick to by a VXR and think they can take on all!

They should stick to the X-Box as 99% of the time their lack of driving skill shows them up.

Totally agree with the lack of skill thing, so many young ones i know think that it's all to do with the performance of the machine and dont take the time to get used to the power and bring the performance of their driving up to match, hence the reason so many are bumped or written off.

I've not really had many boy racers baiting me. I tend to get LOADS of middle age reps in Audi's, Beemers and mid range Merc's driving like eejits.......still good fun to smoke them though :D

Yep, this is my experience too... often wondered if it's because I don't drive much at night...
