Spec C Mod Time(mapped And Dangerous)

well after just over a week of having the car the fun begins.started off

the day doing a bit of moving other cars about the unit to make room for it

and unfortunately gary's polo has to be shifted elsewhere in the meantime.

not sure how far he'll get in it though lol

well that was todays progress,thanks to gary d for the help and terzo neil for turning up

at 3.30 to try and steal some glory!........................only kidding big man much appreciated

ohh who have i confused you with then? thought somebody recently bought a spec c with the intention of upgrading the block? :icon_salut:

could have been me i suppose,i posted up a pic of a spare closed deck block i have

on another thread but its only for a rainy day at the moment.

so why is that engine out of there like that?

Can't belive how immaculate that looks!

last time we done a clutch on my car we took out the gearbox,this time we decided

to do it with the engine out and do a few other things while it was out ie change manifold,

fit spacers,prallel fuel rails,injectors,sump baffle plate etc

Oh right, I see. I take it if you were just doing the clutch, you could do that by taking the gearbox out then?

so wiz taking engine out easier than gearbox?

personally i thought it was easier doing it the gaerbox out way,but most seasoned

modders seem to prefer taking the engine out.bit of a pita taking the gearbox out with

no ramp though

yes john if it was clutch only then gearbox out would do fine

didnt spend too much time working on the car today but did manage to

strip down and remove inlet manifold

fitted manifold spacers and put new one-piece manifold back on

took off sump

and fitted 1 of these cosworth baffle plates

couldnt fit new hydra throttle body as we need smaller headed bolts but g.mac has

sorted us out with them(cheers mate)so can get that on tomorrow
