Have had my Classic for 6months now so I thought Id calculate what it had cost me. 98 UK Turbo purchased Jan 06 with 74000miles ,8months MOT and 2months tax I use the car everyday as my main mode of transport. Daily commute wrong side of Galsgow to mid Fife (approx130milesper day) Expenditure 4 new tyres £400 6 months Tax £85 Feul (22000miles worth) £4500 (charge to company) Insurance £600 (for year) £300 Window tints £200 (essential in this weather) Whiteline antiroll bars , bushes, castor kit £400 Set of rear pads £45 Oil n stuff £60 Polish n stuff (aye right) £ 2.49 Depreciation ( estimated) £ 2500 Total for 6months £8492.49 Unbelievable!!!! No wonder that Im skint. I know that if you use the car it costs money however I think a Diesel car may be a necessity (just need to convince the wife that having a spare Subbie in the garage is a good idea !!

Actually it was a referance that the Scotland U19 team came runners up in the u19 European Championship, therefore in a few years ( hopefully 4) things mite be a little better. Trust me nothing is more boring than Scottish Domestic football/ religion/pish/fodder for morons Dougster, this is my second non subaru thread today, am I pushin it ?[]

Had this very conversation with Bill at Greersport and he said the STi 8 dont fit much better to go for a FMIC probably not much in the price either. Obviously the best thing to do would be to have a front intake for the hoses so they dont have to be about three feet long, with the associated lagg.[]

Thanx for the offers boys think Ill have another go tomorrow with better tools. Failing that Ill take it to the professionals . Whats the easiest way to un stick the top piston / spring thing as only one of pads was worn the other was like brand new, [:'(]

Fairly round Dave Offcourse 50% is now the socket and the ring spanner. I think a box of swan vesta are required. Your welcome to come and have a look if you want. Pretty peed off as I did the other side in about ten mins. no probs.

Too late just managed to round both studs ruining 1 socket and 1 ring spanner. Burning gear may be required !!!

Changing the pads on the rear. Offside set done 10 mins tops. Drivers side both nuts are absolutly solid, soaked then with wd40, used a lever on the bar , hit it with a hammer,. Is there any other way other than brute force and ignorance ?

Fifers generally are, don't know what the problem was last night ? Dont tell anyone but I also happen to be a Fifer just living in the west...... Dont go just cause its gone all chitty chatty Heres the low down on my cars Classic - Going to Greers tomorrow to get aset of rear brake pads will fit the in the afternoon. Cars done just over20000 miles in the last 6 months ( round trip to Liverpool yesterday). Going great. Bug eye Sti - Still to get CEL light put out otherwise going like a dream. Nothing else to report. When Ive a problem I just post and someone always helps. If I can help I do. I prefer to slagg people of though, "its the banter the crazy Glasgow banter" [H]
