mine are ok but the cars 4 uear old and done 70k so a full recall would be a great thing. Just had the bolts on the oil cooler( I think) done under warranty! Recall letter from subaru and a follow up letter 6 months later!

Im going to change the clutch on my classic and several other bits and pieces (myself and a Polish mechanic who works with me that is). Im going to get a uprated one been advised on a Helix organic !! Where is the best / reliable supplier and also what other problems am I going to encounter when I swap over to the non standard part ? I have no problems once I get started and I know that Ive got all the little bits that I need its just the fear that Ill get 95% complete and some small 50p part stops me getting the job done!! Doing the timing belt(100000 miles) will I need new tensioners ? Is there a web site with the exploded drawings (Haynes manual styley) ? I know some of the mechanic types will be pissing them selves laughing at this but a little helping advice is all that is asked for!

Spent monday and tuesday working in Inverness and saw two stunning classics. First on on Late Sunday in Tescos carpark an imaculate classic in green with big exhaust, very very clean, looked like it was brand new. The other was on Tuesday morning at 7.30 in Keyline builders merchants a 2 door wrx import in silver with a partial black painted bonnet ( looked better than it sounds) a really nice looking car. Loads and loads of others cutting about between Nairn and inverness unfortunately was in the van otherwise Id have waved. []

My bug eye with the ppp is great!!!! St3ph3n knows, been on the private track with him and had fun. Mind you if I had uprated the tax disc holder I d have left him standing!!!![]

Need to get an MOT for me classic. Its been decatted and has a Magnox back box so where to go in the Paisley area. Also Im needing a set of pads for my Tarox six pots and a timing belt change oh and a clutch (better just add a flywheel while im at it). Looks like Im going to be skint again!!![:'(]

Ive kids, a mortgage am going grey and Im over the hill(40+) ,just. BUT Ive only just starting modding. In fact I couldnt bear to mod my STi so I gave it to the wife and bought a classic. Im not loaded, in fact my works van is worth more than both my scoobs. Not wanting to throw away perfectly good parts Ive decided to up rated every thing once it breaks! this does encourage occasional spirited driving.....new clutch (and flywheel) now needed. The fun is doing it your own way, even if 50% of mods are common to all cars very few are identical. Have resisted getting a company car cause then it would be hard to justify having a toy in the drive so I opt for the van. I only get tempted when I go to meets and I realise how much more could be done but I can beat 99% of whats on the roads in my subby and about 50% in me van!! Im content with my car! Just dont ask about work[:'(]

Been of line and unable to post or even read the forums for the past 8 weeks !!! Looks like lots been happening and I mist the run last night (bugger) Any way been up to lots Spent a day in England on an airfield driving Bentlys. I know what your thinking old mens cars ,crap handling ....... But I was pleasently surprised. The GTs are marginally slower than an an Sti but much bigger , arround 500bhp ,0-60 in 4.8 sec .We got to hammer these cars, Up to 80mph then stop it as quickly as possible time after time wouldnt do that in my car and the brakes were fantastic (possibly ceramic ?) . The elk test with the electronic handling switched of (big spins and powerslides trying to catch it), and then with the electronics switched on, controlled and driveable. Slalom test going faster and faster with the ESP off till you spin , then ESP on and driving about 10mph faster with minimal rear sliding no problem. The electronics are v similiar to the P2 stuff. Most of the "instructors" were test guys who had worked for Prodrive. Got a shot of a flying Spur (wan*y name) ,£250k of ponce mobele. After telling the instructor that my normal car was a Kia Picanto I managed to do a overtaking manouver (2 artics and a van) on a A class road only getting up to 120mph in the process. Flappy paddles on an auto box were fun. This was done to pis of the instructor who was an advanced driving instructor who felt the need to tell you how to drive all the time. Gts being only £120k and the Spurthingy being a bit more I didnt order one. Whats better value 5 Sti wrx 's or 1 bently ??? Currently my Subaru is getting a MOT, and safety recall oil flow valve, an 02 sensor fitted so Ill be skint again!!! Done a few other things but not as good as the bentlys but Im now back on line and sarky as anything ! Been in Fife lots , Dunfermline seems to be stuffed full of subbys, always been in the van so not been waving !! John

Cheers for the nice comments ,Im happy to drive the car at the weekend ( if I ask nicely) and the odd meet. Maybe cause its got her name on it, it might make my wife start to drive better ie stop racing and overtaking up the inside lane!!!! Possibly the cheapest mod I'll do (£3.49 for panel tape) Gumball I promise the next mod will also meet with approval ?!!!!!![H]

After getting a lot of abuse/freindly banter I have decided to do the first mod to my wifes Bugeyed STi. This is 100% Gumball inspired infact he suggested that I change my air filter and my back box[:|] but that seemed a bit to radical for me! Therfore inspired by the great "Gumball3000" is my first mod. Dont know how it will effect the performance or handling [] !! Hardly any posts tonight is everyone watchin Jackass. I forgot it was on but the noise of my 8 year old and his pall,pissing themselves laughting alerted me to it !! They recon that tomorrow they want to go and have a crap in the display toilets in B&Q.

Finally managed it today. Got the brakes done. Less than ten mins all I needed was a better socket, hammered it on and just turned the thing with me weedy little arms. Do you think I should attempt to change my clutch next ?[]

Piece of flat plastic and gental pressure, then remove the glue residue with some petrol on a cloth. The petrol disolves the adhesive. Then polish up. (I didnt bother with that bit)
