  1. sounds about right - my 30k at Barretts in Canterbury cost about 550 including a 4 wheel laser alignment. At least your scooby doesn't need serving as often as the evo?

  9. Had both of mine serviced, and the 2nd one bought from, their Milton Keynes branch before it closed. I've followed 'Drew back to Witney and it's worth all the bother of getting over there and back. Last visit was at a few days notice just before track training day and i got the car collected and returned by Drew, new pads all round & new front disks fitted - all with SIDC discount. Even more to their credit - I picked up a copy of True Grip whilst sitting in the reception waiting for service work and that's how i found out about SIDC. No hesitation in giving them my full recommendation too! Cheers, David
  10. Welcome Anthony, See you at the meet - what colour are we looking out for? Cheers, David & Chrissy

  14. sheesh! what's left of the original - just the fuel tank & windscreen? You are gonna get so much garage space back if you get rid of that lot m8 I'd get such a b0ll0cking if I stuck another set of wheels in my garage, so don't tempt me!!
  15. Folks, Worth a quick look on http://www.surreyscoobies.co.uk/forums/sho...ead.php?t=14260 where they seem to have several members of the local constabulary in the forum. This thread mentions that they recovered a nicked one that came from Oxford, so stay alert. Also worth reading http://www.surreyscoobies.co.uk/forums/sho...ead.php?t=14064 to get some tips on what to watch out for and some countermeasures. Cheers, David & Chrissy
  16. I thought about the michelins from costco - got my summer tyres 225/45ZR17 there and they are not bad, but not as good as the potenza RE050 that were on before. I've put winter tyres on my second wheel set, but went to blackcircles for some Toyo snow prox 952 and am really pleased with them so far. Some extra tyre noise on some surfaces, but very trustworthy so far on anything slippy. If you want blackcircles and can't get SIDC discount (they hadn't heard of us when I asked), then drop me a PM with your email - looks as if anyone that I point towards them gets a 5% discount code to use! Prices and range were better with mrtyres, but i don't want the hassle of tyres being delivered and then finding a fitting station - I went for the easy option and paid a little extra (just under £125 each).
  17. one very lucky chap! Hate the way they pulled the trailer off and let it bounce onto the crushed car - must have scared the cr4p out of an already terrified driver trapped in there
  18. That's one sexy right toe [] Looking forward to my parcel now - colour looks like it will go with my hair
  19. come on then - where's the vid?
  20. fishes at North Hinksey is good with lots of space, but probably better in the summer with a huge garden to eat and play in. http://www.fishesoxford.co.uk/ Maybe with Christmas coming / cash tight / daylight fading / dodgy weather, we would get a bigger turnout with a predictable event - also helps out any latecomers to still join in? I'm up for a mystery tour / drive out in the spring summer though! Happy to go with John's suggestion for this month as it's nice & close - we'll probably be there whatever gets decided. Cheers, David & Chrissy
  21. Hi Pauline, It would take you about an hour to get to Witney - meet could be anywhere around there - see the current threads for Ian's msytery tour (or not). Quite a few from Bicester / Oxford area, and we come across from Milton Keynes, so often a good long run out. I expect the SWS folk will still be keen to see you as they crept up as far as Swindon? Bring 'em all along for the go-kart challenge if we can ever find somewhere cheap enough. Hope the move goes smoothly Cheers, David & Chrissy
  22. Great news mate - just in time to book another session at Arundel <grin> Hope i never need their help, but will obviously try to remember these guys if theyv'e made you happy! Cheers, David & Chrissy
  23. I love my technology - nearly cranked up the old Windows 3.1 machine in the corner to reply to this! Actually got a collection of tape & disk boxes to cut down on the arguments when we're out. Mind you, the good stuff (mine) goes on the best machine & 'er indoors gets to use tape for all that pop tart and space trek garbage <grin> Just had a fast forward through it and saw no scoobs, but local news said that Chris Tarrants ex missus hurt herself rolling a monstor truck today.
  24. Cheers Tony - just set up the vid
