  1. Lets just put it this way.The steering column doesn't rattle No seriously you would be surprised how much Subaru has moved on regarding driving experience etc and build quality. The doors and tailgate shut with a quality thump instead of a rattle.Aint got no boot space tho. There is something nice arriving for it this week
  2. Well people, Got myself a 2008 model Impreza STi hatch in W.R.Blue with optional 18" 5 spoke wheels in silver. Entirely different to the saloon models.S I Drive system is brilliant currently showing around 23 mpg around town and almost 32 mpg on a wee run recently. Its a very quiet car tho with that silly big silencer under the boot floor. What really bugs me is the fact it doesnt have heated door mirrors.A 6 grand new Polo has them.Come on Subaru get a grip!!! Billy
  3. All i can say is cheers guys."Chocolate engines" really fills me confidence as ive jus bought a new 2008 STi.
  4. And VBH showed a bit of flesh. That was nice.
  5. Silver BMW 5 series has glasgow audi plates on it and another has arnold shark plates on it.Sometimes have extra antenna behind shark fin on roof.
  6. Silver Skoda Superb VRS also doing the rounds.
  7. Good luck Callum.
  8. Im sure i spotted him in Busby during the week driving a blue Focus ST with white stripes.
  9. Well im making the last payment on my car this week sooo its all MINE now! The money im saving on payments will be needed to pay for the petrol at current prices tho!
  10. Brilliant comeback dave!
  11. Whilst nobody wants their car nicked and i sympathise with them, there is enough publicity about leaving your keys on show to scumbags. They are cheeky baskets and will take the chance if they spot the keys.I for one never leave my keys visible,i always plank them at night and if i go out i take them with me if im leaving the car.We live in a $hit society and these gets want to take things that people work hard for.
  12. Mine is used every day as well. Also lives outside and is very very clean! Anyway if i left it at home she would use it and thats a no no.
  13. Well got the prodrive springs fitted but was gutted to discover a leaking front strut.Phoned Duncan at Hypertech on Saturday about 12.30 enquiring when i can get wheel alignment checked and adjusted.I took the car through for 3pm,done while i waited and was back home for about 5.30.It has totally transformed the car and aint it just a pity main dealers cant offer this type of service?Well done Duncan top service mate! Also turns out he knew some of the people ive worked with in the past.
  14. Yes mate they have KYB stamped on the strut body with the part number.Cheap pIsh.
  15. Why oh why are Impreza struts so %ish? Got Prodrive springs fitted today and got a phone call about 11am."Theres a wee problem, your n/s/f strut is leaking".Now i had the wheels off less than a week ago and everything was fine.Thank goodness its still under warranty.Still never mind i've got a luvly t reg burgandy Forrester for the day.Thats 3 replaced in just 18,000 miles.I therefore conclude KYB struts are complete and utter cheap p-sh.Well they used to fit them to the first edition Micras and they leaked as well. Hopefully get it back tomorrow 25mm lower.
  16. Nice one J.
  17. £27.000 no way.Its not worth it.
  18. Hayward and Scott are doing a nice twin back box for it as well.Started out as £24995 now £26595 because of exchange rate, any excuse to pump up the price me thinks. No thanks too dear.
  19. Its just i cant understand why Subaru didnt give the dash the "soft touch" that the last saloons had.Its a very hard decision as mine is mint despite the fact it lives outside in hail, rain _hite or snow and used in the same conditions. As for the rattle at the steering column ive got used to it now.If i change this will be my last new car unless of course Prodrive come out with a cracking upgrade which of course i will have to add to the car.lol.
  20. Nice car and the Mrs chained to the kitchen sink.Best place for them mate. Cant you just see the female members having a berky after this post.LOL. "Sorry darling, yes i'll get those dishes done right away" "Do you want me to do the hoovering as well?" "No problem darling" AYE RIGHT! "Im away outside to clean my Scooby will be gone at least 5 hours!" Billy
  21. Got a card from Subaru advertising "Turbo Weekend at your dealer".So went along to S+S and duly had a test drive in a white hatchback STi.I was well surprised at how it drove and handled, also it has cruise control etc etc.Not having any intention to buy at this particular juncture i was offered 16K for my 2005 STi which has only 17800 and still on its original brake pads etc etc which you will agree is a good trade in price. Now with its flared wheel arches etc it looks the dogs dangly bits but i just cant get to grips with the hard plastic Nova chav dashboard. Anyway left S+S and went back to castlemilk via Galston and East kilbride and i realise why the old Scoobys are better.Noise, performance, rockhard suspension and ride and the im a Subaru so get the hell out of my way looks. Despite this iam considering buying a new Impreza not in W.R.Blue but grey with 5 spoke 18" wheels. Its gonna be a hard decision tho.
  22. Sorry to hear this.Just as long as your family are ok thats all that matters.Doesnt excuse all the wee twats that are on the road showing off to the females in their cars.
  23. Speaking from experience of working in the motor trade, ask for some form of compensation.Everybody does it
  24. Were all being pumped by the oil company's and the government.(Scuse the pun) its embarassing to have a scotsman for p.m and even worse one who is chancellor. They dont care and dont even seem to be thinking of after effects, food prices up etc etc.Im glad i didnt vote for them.
  25. At the end of the day its only a bit of tin.The main thing is you are ok and live to drive another day.We had an accident 20yrs ago involving a drunk driver very near to the turn off for Knockhill at Powmill, unfortunetly the guy lost his life and were still here to tell the tale.I know that yours is a different set of circumstances but i understand how gutted you are to lose such a nice mota.I lost a £250 mk2 Escort van back then, his insurance gave me £600 for it,i could'nt believe it. It will be ok in the end mate.Buy another one and enjoy.
