What i would like to know is: Have you had any problems with the alarm system fitted to the new STi's?? I'm now into my 3rd visit to try and get the problem fixed.Have had all door switches replaced,tracker unit position checked and this Saturday coming gettin alarm control box replaced.Car has no alarm and really gettin peed off now!Iam fed up with it sending me text messages saying the alarm has been activated when it is sitting less than 10 feet from where im sitting on the couch. Dont do it mate. I looked at some other cars before i got my 2008 STi.I considered a C class Merc with AMG suspension and brakes etc.Very nice it was too but i knew fine well after a few months i would want a scoob.

Give the mechanism on the landing panel a good dousing with w.d. 40 or similar just in case its not returning properly.Can happen to any car vw golf mk5's are murder for it.

Every possibility they are fitted with the same cheap crap KYB shockers although the rear shockers are now a shorter design due to the new mutil-link suspension.Only time will tell.

In the real world.Entirely different to the saloons.The s.i drive is a hoot to play with you can actually feel the engine map changing when you switch to sport sharp.The nose doesnt lift when you gun it like the saloon,the doors all shut with a nice quality thump.The interior is still a bit low rent with too much hard plastic on the dash.The half leather seats are well comfy and finally it has cruise control. BUT what really pisses me off is: The damn thing has electric folding door mirrors which ARENT heated.Now for close on 27grand i think its out of order.We sell new £7000 polos at work and they have heated mirrors.Come on Subaru get a grip. And the Mrs hates the thing!RESULT!

It was a 2005 STi mate.Yes i got told the same crap from Subaru.

At least the steering column disnae rattle.

Cheers John.A certain item on the car has been changed already with dramatic results. Came out yesterday morning to a bloody flat tyre as well.Just what you need when its peeing of rain and your jack etc is all shiny and new.
