I've been there and I'[d weigh in a couple of things you'd lose if you sell: (1) The depreciation you'll be hit with (2) The money you'll spend buying a new one and getting it to the same standard (3) Work out the true cost of the fuel economy difference, as well as road tax & insurance (4) Think of what you'll miss about the car and whether the small additional cost per year (especially on low-ish miles) is worth what you gain (5) ABSOLUTELY consider buying an older car and running that 2/3rds of the time...the cost of this will be the same as the saving on the scoob likely - also been there on that one several times with Impreza's. Use methylated spirit or turps/white spirit if it's that greasy - it will strip any grease or wax. BUT keep it away from your paint or plastics. Brian
