  1. John, EBC red stuff work nicely with the WRX 4 pots I've found. I'm on my 3rd set of their front pads. I could get about 10-12K with 3 trackdays, glasgow runs, september run, laps at alford, visit to crail etc. out of a set of them, if not more. Had to change front discs this time around though as 1 set of stock pads and 2 EBCs had taken their toll. Also finally wore out my rear pads so went for EBCs on there too. Some people have had issues with them, but they really need to be bedded in properly with gentle use for a few hundred miles. Can't just storm out the garage and blitz them on a country road blast straight away. Oh and a set of fronts are about £110 or so? I can't remember as I got a lot done last tuesday and didn't look at the individual prices.
  2. Trackdays are probably the worst place to go as a complete newbie because there is a huge mix of SIDC and non-SIDC people. The first event I attended was a trackday and I knew no one at all, and left still not realling knowing anyone. Of course the non-SIDC people are not shy either. I'm always talking to the lotus or caterham or whatever guys at the trackdays because everyone is more than happy to tell you about their own car, and it's a great way to learn the differences between them all. But they're not the people from the forums that you're trying to put faces to. At the last KH day I was standing next to RS Grant at wheels around and I knew I recognised him, but I was racking my brains trying to work it out before blurting out something that might have lead to an akward social faux pas. Of course it would help if he stopped changing cars every 10 minutes. Your local, or not so local, meet is definitely the place to go to first. We'll be the idiots standing in the pouring rain huddled under a bonnet prodding at shiny bits of metal. Oh and Craig. I think I uttered the words "the English have no sense of humor" the first time I met you. I think your pink shirt proves that's not true []
  3. George, the winter meets tend to be more of sit down affairs than runs in the country. At least the Glasgow ones are anyway. Watch out for your next fife one and see what higgy has planned.
  4. Wet weather crashes during a british GT race. Just goes to show you that you must drive to the conditions.
  5. I got 10k out of a set of standard front pads, including 1 trackday. Still had a bit left in them, but not much more than a K.
  6. Have you "used" the car since the Trackday John. Might be worth taking it out and having a few good stops in it to clean everything up.
  7. I'd argue that 12 can largely negate 13. Or at least doing some other work along with 12.
  8. Do the intercoolers on the early ones actually work? They look so tiny.
  9. Looking pretty good Brian. I have to ask though - what is that square thing left of the intercooler? If you want show and shine you've got a bit of work to do on a few places [], but for a car that is now 12 years old that is great condition. Here's to a few more years happy motoring.
  10. The item is still there. I had edited the link as it was a bit iffy, so click it again and see if it works.
  11. Take it to Falkland in Glenrothes. http://www.falkland.co.uk/ Probably nearest place to you that gets a good write up.
  12. http://www.asptrading.co.uk/ There you go.
  13. No answer to my question yet if it was running stock ECU, and if Powerstation actually did the work, not "Powerhouse".
  14. Not all 17"s fit over. The standard STI rims do, but WRX ones don't.
  15. I might wear my driving shoes to Peter's tonight as a special treat for you G.
  16. I thought the fiver was behind me this morning. Running a bit late so was giving it 110% out of Bothwell services onto the 74. 3 Lane sweep to get passed traffic and then saw 5 series lights coming flying up behind me. Back down to 80% and lane 2 before it flew past me. The sphincter was twitching for a moment.
  17. 215/45/17 I think.
  18. Where to start - "Powerhouse" in Tewkesbury would probably be Powerstation I imagine. I doubt they'd do an STI9 rebuild with a blitz exhuast and then put superchips on it. I'm going to ask a question to the guy.
  19. Is this the best result in Scotland on the standard block and turbo?
  20. Great result as I said to Peter earlier Graeme. I should have came through for a peak this morning and then headed back over to Edinburgh for work.
  21. Jebus! £1650 and you're well happy. I thought I was bad at £1000 my first year. Are you 17 or something?
  22. I've learned something today. I always thought it was one product with 2 names. Thanks guys.
  23. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=27...ed&hl=en-AU The F40 story. Lovely.
  24. Fantastic grant. Nagata-san is a legend. That supra is a complete weapon, but I suppose when you are Mr Top Secret you can build yourself these things. Were you frothing at the sight of the Takata harnesses like I was?
  25. Ally, I'm going to hijack my colleagues on pay day [] Will get money to you on the thursday before at worst.
