  1. http://www.monsterworldrallyteam.com/ Well done to Ford for taking a chance and trying to give WRC to the Americans again. Subaru - for shame.
  2. An awesome guy that's hugely missed. So many memories of laughing and joking with Dougie at different events.
  3. Gutted for you Karps. Not the kind of person that deserves this kind of treatment. I can only hope that whoever did it has managed to spill some of the paint stripper on their genitals as payback.
  4. My brother taped it on ESPN for me and the program ended before the jump! Watched it earlier on the ESPN website though. They were saying on that show that the landing ramp had got really slippy as the cold weather had left a bit of due on it. I suspect he was going a wee bit quicker than the 91mph he needed though
  5. They do look the business but when I broke mine I decided not to bother replacing it for the same reason. Certain car parks became 5 minutes of torture over whether you'd come out with the splitter or not. Good spot on the weird driving too. Man in a BT van in Edinburgh eating a bowl of cereal is my own personal favourite.
  6. Anyone in south lanarkshire/north lanarkshire/se Glasgow - roads tomorrow could be nothing short of something from a torville and dean performance. The rain/sleet falling just now is collecting on the roads and if temps drop it'll freeze up and be absolute chaos. If it doesn't then the snow will disappear and we get to see what sort of damage has been done to the road surface.
  7. It felt like a prison!
  8. Which one? Saughton? VQ? I had 6 months at Saughton for my sins a few years ago.
  9. Oh and if you didn't know - he's jumping his car a rather long distance on new years eve - http://www.redbullusa.com/cs/Satellite/en_US/001242797773354
  10. Just noticed ESPN HD was showing the 199 lives documentary about TP. I'm sure it'll be on again - well worth a watch. Covers his rallying towards the end, but the beginning is all about his growing up and motorbiking. Really interesting insight into the mind of a "professional risk analyst".
  11. Well I took the train from Uddingston to Edinburgh today (via Bellshill) and when I got to West Calder at about half 7 it was snowing really heavily again. Between Shotts and Kirknewton there's well over 6 inches in places I'd have thought. I'm stunned by the covering that there is in the city centre in Edinburgh too. The high street is like a skating rink. They've dug out bits of the pavement but even then it's pretty slippy underfoot. Still, I've been enjoying the car park at the station more than I probably should
  12. Available on all good, and indeed some bad, download locations too I've got all of Series 1 and 2 of the MTV show and all but the latest of the DVD releases.
  13. THe dump this afternoon was quite tremendous. I've spent most of the evening going between power and the hand brake
  14. Worryingly it's like that in July!
  15. Train home was through a winter wonder land. Shotts especially was very thick with it.
  16. Give the trial a bash Cal. I'm considering switching to it as my hosted exchange account is costing me about twice that a year. It has one annoyance in handling emails from custom domains. Does it fine on a PC/Mac and on the web interface, but it's a complete hackaround to get it working on the iPhone at the moment.
  17. For me the EBC pads have always worked fine on the WRX and lasted for ages on standard discs. What didn't work was their discs. They warped and cracked and generally were absolutely rotten.
  18. Wee spot yesterday afternoon in Edinburgh when I was heading to the station. That sort of thick rain, thin snow combo!
  19. I think he'd had quite a few when I spoke to him. If I remember rightly he was still in the bar when I gave up at half 2.
  20. Well done on the award last night Arch. Hope the head wasn't too sore this morning
  21. Some nice examples. Ricey - liking the top picture.
  22. You could be right John. My train times got shifted too so by the time I'd get home then head down to a meet you guys would probably have left when its run season!
  23. I think people are guility of looking at things through somewhat nostalgic eyes. There might have been a bit more humor back then but the forum is extremely strong with some great and indeed very helpful people about. That said - I can see John's opinion in myself though - my interest in the car has waned somewhat which is probably only natural as I've had it 5 years now. It's been a busy year for me with other things going on and I've not been to nearly as many meets or trackdays as I'd really have liked to either, but at the same time I've not busted a gut to get to ones I might have been able to make.
  24. People move on I guess. This place is good, just in different ways. It's not the same faces and slightly out of control hilarity, but the club does a lot of wonderful stuff.
