  1. I think my dad used Dent Devils on his Merc last week. £80 to get a fairly decent one out of his bonnet and a couple of others the guy spotted. Said it was top notch work and not expensive.
  2. I'll get down for a visit soon Peter as it has been quite a while!
  3. Good news John. Like you said - it's not just a car. In fact the car is the thing I miss least out of the whole ownership experience.
  4. Mine too, for the fourth or fifth year running so no can do
  5. I've bought laptop spares from the eBizzle a few times. None of the sellers I've used happen to be the one that has your bit though. For the small outlay for the bit I'd risk it. It's priced similar to parts I've bought, from similar looking companies.
  6. My print is still at my folks house, but will be coming over to the new flat very soon. Have a place reserved for putting it up.
  7. If you spend more than £10 on HDMI cables you're an unadultarated mug. It's digital. It either works or it doesn't. Amazon Basics 2m HDMI cable for £3.99 does the job. Any of the digital cables - HDMI, DVI or Optical etc. are the same. Wouldn't listen to what a salesman says about sound on a flat screen anyway - they're all crap. Spend £500 on a telly and £300 on an AV Receiver and some speakers for your budget. Wouldn't touch 3D with yours either. Gimmicky until they go glasses less and produce more content for it. Unless you're going to watch Avatar once a day it's not worth it, and in 3-5 years time when they work out how to make Parallax Barrier work better, and can produce in larger sizes.
  8. A vibrator? Surely you're not that bad with the wimen.
  9. I'm sure it comes with a good old fashioned tractor engine option no? Has the BMW or the Audi got the nicer toys inside?
  10. Davie what about a VW Phaeton?
  11. If you go out to look at them make sure you ask the shops to show you a standard definition freeview picture on said telly. If you're watching Sky or Freeview or Virgin then most of the programs are still not HD, so the TV will need to scale the image. In my opinion that's what makes the best tellys - making bad pictures look pallatable. That's why I went with a Sony - yet to see one that can't scale an image well. Got lucky with a discontinued higher end model 40" for only £499 a couple of months ago - including 5 year warranty too, but Amazon have some good ones kicking about just now with decent prices. In fact the place I got mine from has a few well in your price range - http://www.robertwhyteltd.co.uk/clearance-c-43 - The 40Z5500 got good very reviews I believe.
  12. I think I got lucky when I sold mine as it went in less than a fortnight. I remember you were interested at the time as well Gaz. Welsho's still trying to shift his too and it's a cracking car. Just not a seller's market at the moment at all. Thought about We Buy any car?
  13. Always enjoyable to see someone get their comeuppance. Had a guy pass me on Saturday night on the M74 doing mach 1 in a Zafira. Came off at Motherwell to find him at the lights at strathy park directly in front of me in the queue. Got to the top of the hill at the station - still only the next car in front. Then throught he one way and then the road up past Ravenscraig to watch him sit about a foot off the bus he was tailing. Bus driver knew it so slowed down to about 25 in places to piss him off. Guy kept pulling out to the right to see if he could pass - nearly wiping out twice on islands in the middle of the road. End result of hilarious impatient and aggressive driving - got no where
  14. Windows Key + R to get the runbox up, then tryp in "pbrush" then press ok.
  15. Used "the garage" in Wishaw a couple of times to rectify a few wee things on the car before I sold it and couldn't fault the service or communication. Admittedly it was for some suspension stuff and not engine related.
  16. There's a competition going on just now on http://www.Jalopnik.com to find a new blogger. One of the articles mentions the scottish scoobies - http://is.gd/fH5iW
  17. Too many people leave their brain at the door when they get in the car these days. Sat Nav should make you a better and more efficient driver, but too many people think it means you can just ignore every sign.
  18. Think I spotted you last week at the Larkhall junction of the M74 too Baz. Think it was possibly Wednesday afternoon but the last week and a half has been a blur.
  19. Have only been in a couple of days. Still unpacking!
  20. When I was using mine it was bringing me enoug of a reward to make it worthwhile. Might as well get something back!
  21. Good spot Baz. Thought I'd saw it myself but not got Sky+ installed in new place yet so couldn't do an instant rewind!
  22. Phew. Signatures completely turned off. Full offence to anyone who's added a picture to theirs - but it's the single most efficient way to completely destroy the usability of a forum. Stop and look at it for a minute and digest exactly what you're adding to a page payload and length of time for people to scroll. The usability gods will thank you when you remove yours. Other than that - liking the new look. Especially the new mobile view. Very web two point ohhhhhhh.
  23. Still not the best Moped video on Youtube. This always wins -
  24. I think it would be interesting to see Pastrana and Tanner Foust have a go at WRC level as well. There's clearly some talent out there and if they could bring the American manufacturers with them, and some of the european ones too, then the sport can only get stronger.
  25. Think I was replying to Lewisscoob instead!
