  1. Ahhhh, vauxhall garages. Truly the salt of the earth. Here's my tale of Arnold Clark on Garscube road in Glasgow. I had the bonnet of my Vectra resprayed, which took a day longer than they said, which was a massive inconvenience to me as I was commuting from Bothwell to Edinburgh without a car, and commuted back to Glasgow the first day to pickup the car, only to find it wasnt ready. So I picked it up, drove home and all seemed well. Next morning I goes to drive to work, fire it up and start reversing out of the drive way. EVERY warning light in the car is flashing and the power steering is not working. I drove back to the garage, keeping under 3000rpm as the car picked up an intense vibration at that point. 30 minutes later they come out and tell me that somehow the engine mounting bolts had come loose, and as a result various other stuff had ceased to function. COMPLETELY UNRELATED TO THE PREVIOUS DAYS WORK OF COURSE! Aye RIGHT.
  2. So where does it start and indeed end? It can't be the entire distance surely? It says A77 Ayr to Stranraer on their website. I don't know if I could drive the whole way from Ayr to Stranraer whilst speedometer watching without either having an aneurysm, mental breakdown, or terrible road accident because I wasn't watching the road enough.
  3. I've got mine from my 05 Jamie, should all else fail. I have nae idea how much these things are worth mind you, but some store credit for H1 Performance may suffice.
  4. SPINNING HUBCAPS FOR THE WIN!
  5. I'm thinking of getting my second set of wheels powdered black. Black wheels, black tyres, black car, pasty white ginger fellow at the wheel. Lovely.
  6. Someone else has a yellow ram then. His has the longer cab, and is an SRT10 so it has a wee Viper powered logo on it, and comes as standard with wheels the size of your house. 0-60 in the low 5s, and it ONLY weighs just shy of 3 Tonnes dry.
  7. Those are some nice and clean looking cars chaps. I think that might be my Cousin's pickup truck that's in the last picture. Unless someone else in Scotland owns a Yellow Ram.
  8. Wilky, Nip down the Dodge garage and try and get a test of a new Ram SRT10. All 8.3 litres of its Viper supplied v10 engine power it to 60 quicker than you say F**K ME. My cousin has one and it's quite frankly the scariest looking thing I've ever seen on the road.
  9. Damned Impressive. That's all I can say really.
  10. Is there now. I did not know that. I think I'll just order one outside the GB then. /me ponders
  11. Here. Lusted after one of the wings after seeing the S203. Carbon Splitters included too.
  12. VERY Tempting. Bit too soon I think though. If you'd told me this at 10 past 12 on Sunday I'd have asked where to hand in my money. I like you was a first timer on Sunday, and I think I've caught the bug too. Not sure if the rubber or brakes would survive another 3 hours, so I'll let them rest for a few K before changing them in time for the next SIDC day.
  13. It'll look good Chris. The car was looking rather s****y on Sunday with the regular one, but that should really complete the look. Your decal work was among the best I'd seen. It looked properly legitimate rather than half arsed like a lot of them do. Plus you'll be able to come back from the offy with bottles in the rack!
  14. graham@gklphotography.co.uk. None of me sideways having a complete heart attack to myself coming out of the first corner though . Next time I'm getting a video camera for in the car, and friends stationed at every corner with cameras.
  15. I emailed the official track photographer guy and he's sent me smallish samples of the shots he took of me. Some of them are really cool, ordered up a couple of them in 12" by 8" prints. Well worth checking out if you're looking for a nice shot of yourself.
  16. Having owned an S Reg civic HB, just a 1.4 mind you, I can vouch for them being quality little cars. Wide as hell and handle really well. Built PROPERLY too. It was in the family for almost 4 years between me and my little brother, and I drove it like I stole it on the odd occasion, and it suffered absolutely no problems. Only drove a 1.6 once as a courtesy car, which was absolutely fantastic.
  17. The Strathclyde 5-0 have/had a Black M3. I tend to watch out for them and of course the Omegas and T5s, 607s and white 5 series.
  18. Pete, the advice was great and very much appreciated. It certainly put me on a good footing for the rest of the day. I took it easy, being my first time, and not having any spare bits and pieces with me, although by the end I was a bit more relaxed, and certainly giving it plenty. Coming into the hairpin at a few minutes to 12 when it was raining was interesting though as I'd just put about 10-12 laps on my rubber with just a short break to swap passengers, and the grip was minimal to say the least.
  19. I think I've developed a bit of a taste for the track day experience. To head to Germany for a trip round the 'ring or not. That is the question.
  20. Here we go lads, and indeed ladies - Pictures. Enjoy. That Hypertech CTR was possibly the loudest beast of the day. Surprised the nobles didn't make more noise than they did. They were positively quiet. Good to see a couple of people grabbed my chariot in action too, many thanks for the pictures.
  21. I'm just back too. It was my first time and it was fantastic fun. Met a couple of you fellows here and there, teknopete and the people that were with him. Was going to try and say hello to more, but it was too much fun either being out on track or just standing on the pitwall taking in the sights and smells. I was the large ginger fellow with the red top driving the almost entirely stock 54 plated WRX. I've managed to snap a few shots, including one of you I think higgy. Unless anyone else has a black bugeye with ludicrously massive red mud flaps and silver decals. I'll edit out the plates and post them up laters. I don't suppose anyone was behind me when I had the most incredible, trouser loading, 4 wheel drift coming out of the first corner? I'd love to see a video of that. Anyone know much about the white S2000? It was QUIIIIIIIIICK.
  22. Do I need just the new ID card style licence, or is the paper part needed too?
  23. 20 miles from Bishopbriggs to Kincardine bridge in 15 minutes will certainly be going some, particularly through the speed traps and then the roadworks on the A80. I'll be heading to KH from Bothwell. Is the waste ground you talk of the one outside Bathe just before the bridge? If so then I'll stop in there on my way past, after a visit to the shell station for my optimax.
  24. It's been shut at weekends for the last month or so, and down to 1 lane during the week. Which is a pain in the backside. But it is SUPPOSEDLY finished on Friday.
  25. Parked in all its splendour in the visitors section where I work - Scottish Coal. Very nice, very clean. My chariot was parked up the back, with a massive big bird crap on the side, hidden away from everyone.
