  1. Not looking for anything warranty invalidating at the moment. But thanks for the offer.
  2. Are the official STI Panel Filters worth the cash? Easy to fit? I've not done any performance modding yet, but I quite fancy a nice gentle start.
  3. He wouldn't have room in his case for the rear wing off an S203 would he?
  4. Kingsacre is nice. The big par 5 with the elevated tee, think it was the 14th ish, is a fabulous hole. Drive and a five iron to 15 feet then sank the putt for the eagle. Think I then duffed an iron all of 40 yards off the next tee. Welcome to my golf game.
  5. Saturday was lovely. My neck was a nice shade of BRIGHT RED. That's the problem with being Ginger, I just combust in the sunlight, there's no tanning involved.
  6. £20! But seriously. If it was like a bedroom less and 6 months down the line, and maybe I had a lady to shack up with, then I could have been interested as I work out in that direction and get annoyed with the commute up and down the A80. Good luck with the sale though Paul.
  7. Wouldn't you adam and eve it. A bird $hit on the rear spoiler. WHY I OUGHTTA! Have to say though, I filled up a bottle with some water and took it out to try and clean it whilst I'm here at work. The damn water barely stays on the car long enough to do any sort of cleaning. Took the bird's little present straight off though. It's some good ass wax.
  8. Oh yeah. Buggys at Westerwood. I can just picture that. 6 eejits attempting to drive them like scoobys. I almost rolled one once. Clipped a kerb whilst cornering aggressively on a path between holes. I was on the side that was wheels down, driving, and a family friend who was half my size and weight was on the side that was wheels up. I think I was on two wheels for a couple of seconds before it came down. Needless to say I needed new underwears.

  10. www.st3ph3n.com/images/car/shiny1.jpg and www.st3ph3n.com/images/car/shiny2.jpg. 5 hours of hard graft yesterday to do the full treatment with the wash, cleaner fluid and the wax. Worth it though. Looks better than the day I picked it up. Which fair enough was 6pm on a cold December Tuesday.
  11. I'd play. I don't have an official handicap as I'm not really a competitive golfer. But I play once a month with some ex colleagues who maintain handicaps and I play off about 15. I play at Bothwell Castle. Dunno if I could organise something like this at it though.
  12. Yes, hard to believe I've been here for 100 posts, but I have. Thank you to everyone for making my stay most pleasant. I've learned a lot on the technical side, and I know some new suppliers to use if, sorry that's when, I need some more bits for power, handling and so forth. T'was a shame I couldn't make the track day due to being trapped in bed with the lurgie, but next time I will be there. I will try and get to some of the other events too.
  13. Pope Hideous Dick IX It would be rude at this point in time not to mention the excellent Wu-Name generator. I am, and always have been - Well-Liked Assman
  14. What do the Toyos offer that the Bridgestones don't? I've only done 6000 on my Bridgestones so far and I have no opinion on them either way as it's the first car I've owned that had enough power and ability to really require proper rubber. I love the grip, but that could be the car or the tyres, or both. I bought a second set of wheels off the excellent scottiescoob so I've got a set of identical wheels with brand new RE050s to move onto once I've used these, but I was considering keeping one set of winter (probably the new ones) and sticking some less treaded on for the summer. Yes, that one week in July that is summer.
  15. I've been known to wander round a golf course with some metal sticks in a bag on the odd occasion. I'm not sure if what I'm doing can be classified as golf, but still.
  16. The boy who couldn't drive his Scooby today went boo hoo hoo. He took his mothers civic which is painfully slow, slow, slow. But the cars back tonight (with scratch repaired) and it's go, go, go. Ahem. If you need any cuts and scratches on the song, or a remix then I'll hook you up.
  17. My Spec C is white. In GT4 that is. And I love it. Mako, where did you get the STI Splitter from, I've never seen it as an option anywhere.
  18. I have to say that as someone who covers a decent amount a day - 65 miles - on some of Scotland's major arteries - M73, A80, M876 - and who spent nigh on 2 years travelling the m8 back and forward between Glasgow and Edinburgh, then I'd like to think I've built up a decent understanding of the mentallity of what drivers are likely to do. But I've not! I've passed many a "boy racer" who's been gently plodding along a motorway at 65mph minding their own. I've also been tailgated, undertaken when there was no room, and even witnessed someone having to use the hard shoulder coming out of Edinburgh such was their impatience, all by people who drive faceless cars and don't fit into any of these stereotypes. I bet this woman drives a Citroen Xsara Picasso or a Megane Scenic, with her 2.4 kids and her 1.3 dogs and 0.7 cats. She'll also use completely the wrong lane at roundabouts, then never signal when she decides to try and rectify the situation at the last moment. Endangering her kids, her dogs and cats and my life as well. Or maybe I'm just throwing about wild stereotypes too.
  19. A bolt that held some sort of contraption onto the runner had come loose. Probably when the seat was moved full forward so I could hoover the back. So the seat wasn't secured at one point and was able to rock back and forward. They fixed it a treat though on the second time round. The guy instantly knew what was wrong. The first time it was in was before Christmas and New year for the service, so they said they were short staffed, which is fair enough.
  20. Well the common agreement of continent tends to seperate North America and South America into 2 seperate ones. So that sort of knackers that really.
  21. I might be able to make it that week. If I'm not on the golf course that is. I've had my car with Halleys twice now, once for the 1000 mile service, which was done, but a seat problem wasn't fixed, so that really put me off them. But then I happened to be in Milngavie one day, went to the garage to buy the single din pocket for my audio install and chanced getting someone to look at my seat. 20 minutes later I was driving off with a cleaned car and my drivers seat better than new. So they fully redeemed themselves and will in future be getting all my business. PPP hopefully . I dealt with Harvey almost a year ago when I was first looking at an Impreza and he was a sound bloke. I couldn't agree to anything then due to working short term contracts, and when I finally bought my car in December I couldn't stretch to a full UK car so went down the import route. Does that make me evil in their book?
  22. I was 17 and I got a new Civic hatchback. It was an "illusion" special edition, so it was cheap. It came in supersonic blue, which when clean on a sunny day looked viper-blue, but it was purple any other day of the year. Fantastic little car. The 1.4 didn't really put out a lot of power, but you sat so low, and it was a wide car so handled quite nicely. This was before F+F, so all the Chavs didn't know how easy it was to mod a civic. I didn't to anything other than stereo and replacing the illusion sticker on the boot with a type-r badge, and some mugen ones over the front arches. My brother got it after me and he loved it too. I can't remember the insurance.
  23. The thing is, even if your road angel had picked it up you'd still have got done. Laser detetion is pretty ropey unless you have something mounted front and rear. They use narrow band beams that aim at your plate generally. So if your road angel's laser unit is on the windscreen then they probably wouldn't have hit it, or if they were behind you it would need to have come the whole way through the car and hit it from the other side. The Impreza's cabin is quite tightly packed, and of course, if you get on the brakes and pitch forward it makes it even harder to hit. Which is why if you really want laser protection you need to mount sensors.
  24. I finished a full 24 hours of Le Mans in the 24 hours of Le Mans game on the dreamcast. I was 20 laps up on the second place car with an hour left to go, so I just parked up for half an hour and did something else. Of course I didn't finish it in one sitting. More like 4 or 5, but still quite long stints.
  25. I had 5 licences, 2 of which I transferred from my GT4 Prologue save. I started with the Spec C as I had the 100K transferred from my GT3 save. I was sitting with 5 pages of cars, and my Spec C fully modded as my rally car of choice, and a JGTC 350Z as my circuit car of choice. Then in a rush to do something else I powered off as it was saving. The craziest car I owned was a Suzuki something raid prototype thing. Pushing 800bhp + I think and with wings that put a 747 to shame. The only problem was that it had the worst power curve ever, even without a turbo, and wouldn't rev under 3,000, then instantly red line in all but 5th gear. Great fun though.
