  1. Might have to use BP or Esso's good stuff for the moment. Anyone got a source in Glasgow for some OB in case worst does come to the worst?
  2. The antenna is on the rear window. It is powered too. If you've got the standard headunit then it should be powering ok, but if you've put a new one in then there's a bit of a wire fudge needs done to get it working. Or at least there was for me.
  3. Bandit, I dropped a Pioneer Headunit into mine (installed myself) and it really did the business without a speaker change. YES, the standard speakers are less than gash, but if you're running a decent wattage to them from a quality head unit then they do the job.
  4. It's a gravel express though! They're uber rare. Wonky colours but still quite cool I think.
  5. I've had dirty thoughts about a Diesel runner and an S13 Drifter. But then I put my foot down in 2nd gear on a damp road and I smile again.
  6. Excellent Cal. A new Camera you say?
  7. No garage in Scotland would be complete without an Irn Bru bottle in it.
  8. Interesting. I bought mine from Hypertech and they're authorised so that's good. Makes you wary of buying off ebay though.
  9. Absolutely class John. Fantastic.
  10. YES! It was mineself. I noticed you too, I was also a wee bit sleepy. Was later than normal due to an afternoon of golf and thus requiring the car to be in the city with me.
  11. Del you got a PM too!
  12. Del. Mine was hard wired at one point, but then I changed my setup. The 2005 cars have their ciggy sockets behind a wee flap and it was a pain having it always on show. What I did originally was to just hardwire it into the back of the socket and then run the cable up and round the dash. But now I have a 3 way splitter hard wired into the back of the socket, that's mounted in the passenger footwell, and then have the RA plugged directly into that with the wire again run along the top of the dash and down the side to keep it fairly hidden. I believe ed has his wired up with the wire disappearing down behind his clock. He might have changed it though after his recent work.
  13. It'd bring a tear to your fuel injectors. Good story Brian.
  14. Great stuff Gav. I saw the car yesterday when I was at Hypertech and it was looking good.
  15. If I'm not bloootered from the night before I will endevour to get my ass down to the park. That's only 5 minutes away for me really. One thing to note - M74 has roadworks on it just now at the Raith interchange. Specs cameras in effect on them too. It gets quite busy, but easter sunday should be quiet. JUST WATCH OUT FOR THE CAMS!
  16. What about a pre-launch burnout? Recommended? I've had my car since December 04 and I've still not launched it for fear of destroying something. Either myself or on the car.
  17. I'd take the ferrari all the way too. The noise is just sublime. The question you really have to ask is - 911 Turbo or 911 GT3. Are you a man or a man with a death wish? Or are you a conneiseur who'll take a Ruf RT12 instead.
  18. She was pretty rough eh? Andy, you might have missed this during your hiatus from the forums, but it's well worth a look - All 47 pages.
  19. Looking good Chris. Nice work Ricey.
  20. VBH. Oh yes. Those wee squeeks she makes. []
  21. So what is the best launch technique?
  22. It should be fine, but obviously it being a euro import they're going to be just a wee bit more picky. Hence my calling Gav and Sharon lovely people who would never see a fellow SIDC member stuck. Spotted Gav's car in at Hypertech. Looking very good indeed it was.
  23. The 2005 cars do have the Inverted strut design, hence the STI style rattling. The words MOTHER F***** spring (no pun intended) to mind at this time. My car is obviously a Malteser. So whilst warranty friendliness has been confirmed it might mean they'll be a little bit picky about mods. I have the Tein springs and I hope they'll not cause an issue. Hence why I'll maybe go down to Camelot, I mean Camelon and see Gav and Sharon. Those lovely lovely people. []
  24. First the good news. My thanks to the good people at Hypertech for sorting me out with the ability to stop again! I've been driving like miss daisy for a week and a bit as my front pads were cooked. So new pads, cleaned the back ones and new fluid. Lovely. And an oil change to keep things ship shape. Now the shocking news - whilst it was in I got them to cast a quick eye on the rear of the car, particularly the shocks as I've developed a rattle and lo' and behold they're gubbed. The old faithful STI problem is carried over to the 2005 WRXs. A new pair will have to be fitted. So I will have to go to the dealers and get some warranty work done to rectify the problem post haste if I want to get on this track day at the end of the month. Sharon and Gav can probably expect a visit from me I think.
