Pete, when Phil returns I will be seek clarification of what is and isn't acceptable. Personally when someone posts a scooby video and adds sound over the top then I'm annoyed because I'd rather here the car's own soundtrack. Free speach is all well and good but you can't post inflamatory content, copyrighted content, cracks for software etc. etc.

I'll explain my opinion and that of the other mods who I discussed this with before I locked the thread. I did not lock it as I felt the need to use my new found "authority". I think most people know me well enough to know the chances of a power trip are slim to nil. You'll have noticed there was other comments on the thread which were for what I eventually did. Firstly the material is copyrighted and I'm sure there's a big issue in there somewhere. They are just harmless mixes he's posting for free and I'll fully admit I download quite a few of these a week (not loafy's though) and they're not exactly piracy funding terrorism, but I have no doubt they are illegal. Secondly - loafy hasn't posted anything that wasn't a mix announcement since may. Third - if you read his website once a week you can get them from there anyway. O/T threads are more than fine, it's part of what I think makes this place great so there is no danger of me locking them and indeed that was not why the thread was locked as you can read. If the general consensus of opinion is that I'm wrong (and the other mods who agreed) - based on my reasons for locking it - then please make your voices heard. This is a democracy.
