  1. Who's this Colin McGrae fellow?
  2. When I got the first one almost off I actually looked at the second set of mounting holes and knew I was still going to get scraping, so when the last bolt simply wouldn't come out then I decided that cutting was the only way. Ended up using a crayon and a ruler to mark a line then attackign them with some secateurs. Looks alright, but there is no scraping at all, which is great!
  3. It is pretty decent indeed.
  4. Well Peter's car doesn't have an external wastegate and it makes the noise as I experienced it on Saturday night. Is it not caused by the DV not being able to vent quickly enough because you're running such high boost? So the turbo is still chopping the air up and you get the lovely sound? I'm sure someone with a clue might be along soon to answer.
  5. The how to fit section on IWSTI is also very good - http://www.iwsti.com/forums/
  6. Peter was running a baileys but he had a new forge one to fit. But the chirping you hear on his car is the wastegate, not the DV. I'm assuming you mean a noise as heard on here - http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=...amp;q=wastegate

  8. www.st3ph3n.com/engine.mp3 - that's the sound. HKS SSQV. I love it. []
  9. He's not posted for a while or been at any of the meets. Plus I agreed to buy the samco IC hose off him ages ago and just remembered about it.
  10. lol, you know more than me Vicki! I must say Peter and his crew took excellent care of the car. He was concerned about the mudflaps and the splitter and where another garage would (and indeed have) just crammed it on the stand anyway, they didn't risk it and used the good old fashioned trolley jacks instead which takes a wee bit longer. 10 out of 10!
  11. This is a good question. I think I might only have asked for regular.
  12. They have Shell V-Power over in You Rope. It's the same slash slightly better than our optimax. Which is to be branded V-Power next week or the week after if the story is true.
  13. A good worker never blames his tools. Luckily for me I'm not a good worker [] I couldn't get the 14mm bolt on the tensioner free. I've not got full strength back in my right hand yet after injuring my wrist, and my socket set isn't so good so couldn't get the leverage required. Plus I lost my cool and then gave up. I'd already spent the morning trying to remove my mudflaps to move them higher to stop the scraping. I couldn't get one of those bolts out as it just kept turning, so I just cut the damn things instead. Job's a goodun.
  14. Well I'm beaten. Couldn't get the third bolt off the strut tops. Couldn't get the seat belt tensioner off to give me access to it. So an hour and a half spent removing and reinstall the rear seats basically. Great fun.
  15. It's OK. I found it - http://www.oakos.com/wrx/installs/RSTB/index.htm
  16. Can't find the one I had saved!
  17. imy, I do apologise for not mentioning the service. It goes without saying that it was excellent. All the staff, but you especially [] Martin, April and Ally's company was also good. Martin takes a joke that wee bit too far. I like that.
  18. What about pit crew style shirts Imy? Not clothing, but I remember asking Phil about this during the winter, but how about an ice scraper for the car with SIDC branding.
  19. 1) The Grub at Peters - Excellent 2) Peter's car - Incredible 3) Goodyear Eagle F1s - Fitted this morning and given a bit of a test this evening. Sidewalls are definitely a bit spongier, but there's a whole lot of grip going on. Will up the pressures tomorrow and see if that improves the sidewall issue, but I think it will be very liveable with. Ride quality is better than the Bridgestone RE050s and the road noise is also vastly improved. 4) CG Lock - Also fitted this today. I'm of the brace yourself with your legs when hard cornering brigade, so it's going to take a bit of time to get out of that mindset. When consciously not bracing this evening I did notice I was held in the seat much firmer, which was good as the goodyears were gripping! Looking forward to giving this a good test at knockers next weekend. 5) Fanta Z. This stuff really has no sugar? You're pulling my legs!
  20. I got a set of STI Genome Defis on ebay for £400. Very nice they are too.
  21. You're looking at about £200 for an R-Vit or the Greddy Intelligent Infometer. Which coincidentally is for sale in the for sale section: http://forums.sidc.co.uk/forums/748924/ShowPost.aspx It's very nice, and as I said in my reply is what I would get if I was in the market again.
  22. You don't think a black and white scoob with some strobes mounted in the front and a Gotham City police logo on the side coming charging up behind you on the motorway would look the business Gus?
  23. That's quite nice Davie. Good price too. I've got the Blitz R-Vit which does a similar job.
  24. Myself, Ally B, Bandit and April were down later in the evening for some grub at Peters. The grub was as usual fantastic. After dinner I got a short blast in the Chinese400 and it is without a doubt astounding. The wastegate chatter is positively trouser stiffening.
