  1. I have no idea where the tension screw is TBH craig. I'll fish out the manual later if I can.
  2. Or that. []
  3. You two with your matching logos. Confusing! Like I said. No idea who it is. Now let's let this slide into infamy.
  4. People can report, but if the mod spots before it's reported it gets deleted anyway. The captain fantastic thread I'd agree has had the line crossed a few times and I'm willing to accept that I let some of them go as I thought they were justified. It's dead at the moment and I'd request that it remains that way as everyone's had their fun at CF's expense. As far as what's acceptable then use your best judgement and I'm sure you wont go wrong. No nudity, swearing, copyrighted material etc. Personal insults will either be deleted, or as seen in the CF thread - responded to with great vigor and much hilarity. Hope that helps.
  5. Great news Peter. You looked like a wee lost puppy on saturday night because you couldn't come on the run on Sunday, so I know you were missing not being able to drive the car. Now, if you can manage to get in more than one run, and not have the worst launch since the challenger on your next visit to crail then I'm sure we'll see a damn good time, because as you said - the terminal is right on the money. APs look right on the money too.
  6. Donald where's your trooooosers! Welcome Jen. Not sure who qualifies as your regional organiser out that way, or where the nearest events are. A wee run up that way next year sounds like a great plan though.
  7. I'd guess at least 10.
  8. Steve, the first one wasn't deleted because of popups. There was banner adverts on the site which were pretty explicit. Video itself was fine.
  9. Ok, so my shoddy calculations get the cost of a Trackday to be about 30-50p per car to cover carbon emissions for the event. A run of 200 miles would be less than £1 with low estimates for fuel economy. I'm not asking everyone to stop every 20 miles and plant a seedling, or for all of us to drive up to a forrest and frolic amongst the trees. All I'm suggesting is that at club events, and should you want to, you could make a very small donation to make said event "carbon neutral". When we reach a certain amount we can send it off and get some trees planted in the clubs name.
  10. Well done Craig [y] Will download when I got home and see if I can set it as my screensaver. Which I will document later should it work.
  11. Great thread Gumball Best experience is a tough one. A few stand out. The best moments have been ones with the club. I've been with the club since January 2005, but didn't really start going to meets and things until probably June or July last year due to one thing or another. First trackday was great fun, second even more so. More on the third later. Had some great runs too, Sunday's being the best full day even I've done I'd say. However, the first time I went over the Garelochhead road back in february stands out. Watching 4 cars, led by Gumball, come storming past me and ally after the erskine bridge was incredible. Then blasting over that road with ally leading the way. Pitch black, first time I'd driven it, slighly iffy brakes but what a treat it was. The noise reverberating off the hills. The headlights lighting the way ahead and a bit of flames from a couple of the cars illuminating where we'd been. 2nd would be me following col666, when he had his white wagon, down the A9 after the November run. His flamer kit was armed and we weren't taking prisoners. Worst - spinning round Duffus last year takes that easily. I can look back and laugh about it now but I REALLY scared myself that day and for a little while I was ready to retire for good. funny - clyde tunnel on the way back from the Glasgow run earlier this month. The noise had me giggling like a schoolgirl for the rest of the week.
  12. I suppose it could be viewed as a bit hypocritical if we did something like this Imy. It obviously needs some research as a token gesture of 2 trees isn't going to cut the mustard. I personally think recycling in the office and at home should be a law and not just a recommendation. It's not exactly rocket science. The club has shown over the last year that we can raise incredible amounts of money for good causes such as cancer research and the santa cruise, so why not put a bit of our efforts in to neutralising the bad effects we have on the environment. Here's a wee quote - "Flying is one of the highest carbon costs - a return flight from London to Los Angeles "costs" 2.45 tonnes of carbon, according to Climate Care, which says this can be offset by an investment of £15.93." So I think £5 from every car that took part on a trackday donated to a fund of some sort would quite easily neutralise the effects of at least the trackday. It's not exactley breaking the bank is it? We live in one of the most naturally beautiful countries in the world, so why not keep it that way so we can enjoy more runs like Sundays?
  13. If you go down to the woods today you're in for a big surprise. If you go down to the woods today you'll never believe your eyes. For today's the day that gumball's stroking his goat.
  14. Ac!d, I have performed my best Gil Grissom impersonation but the survey says EEEEEEHHHHOOHHHHHH. The benefits of working for a very large company that uses a web proxy.
  15. I might do some research and see what I can come up with. Either that or we buy the goat from oxfam [] And I was well under the limit when I drove cos I've not had any alcohol since August.
  16. Right you lot, I've had a thought. We're not really walking talking examples of environmental good practice. A good number of us are running with no cats or a reduced number of them. They're not exactley efficient cars as standard anyway, and when you're hoofing round the beautiful country side or on a trackday then there's plenty of exhuast gas being expelled. I try to be environmentally friendly where possible with recycling of plastics, paper (shell receipts) etc. but clearly that's not really making us "carbon neutral". So here's what I'm thinking - lets plant some trees in the name of the club to try and balance it out. I've not really thought it through in any great detail, but would anyone be interested? Oh, I was thinking we could call it the "Andy Forrest" too. Slaps for that awful pun are more than welcome.
  17. Andy's contact details: http://www.andyforrestperformance.co.uk/27344.html Pipes - Would one of the custom exhuast places make them for you? C+C in hillington or Meerkat in Kilbirnie
  18. Shower of BASSSSSSSSS What good is a pension for someone likely to meet a brickwall at speed during a test drive of a motorbike when he's 35?
  19. So you guys think that instead of transfering 18 months worth of pension from my last job to my new pension with my current job I should try and get the money out in cold hard readies and splurge it on finishing my project?
  20. You never know who is looking. "Oh, there's a subaru like that one we stole, let me just copy that plate down and go and use it in some ram raiding/terrorism/general law breaking".
  21. It was good to see you over here slumming it with us boys from the Mainland Karl. The Death Star is a great car, and it was good to see it again. So what's the plans for spring everyone? Perhaps a double run with 2 start points (north and south), a middle point to meet and chew the fat for a while, then a section for everyone to enjoy before splitting up and heading back in the direction they hail from?
  22. Vicki, they flex a little bit when you move, but they are quite stiff.
  23. I think that's enough now chaps. []
  24. Well done Gus mate. Know you were wanting that one.
  25. The one in the green gets a maybe. The mick jagger look-a-like with the cigarette gets a naw.
