  1. Just need the team A post for the MLR 500 it is then. Cheers Iain
  2. Count me in on this I can turn a shed into a rocket Cheers Iain
  3. The forge atmospheric is very good, assuming that it is the type which is bolted to the Sti 8 intercooler do you know if it has the large port on the flange or the small port (the hole between the DV and the intercooler). The one with the larger port is much better also if you can, set up the DV so that it does not open/dump until atleast 0.3 BAR has been reached. Cheers Iain
  4. Port the wastegate and fit an uprated actuator (Forge one is good, same as for the VF34), you want your base pressure to be around 1.0 Bar, you would probably have seen better results with a set of oem ported headers but thats not to say that you will not get a good gain from what you are about to do. Are you running an atmospheric dumpvalve? If so which one? Cheers Iain
  5. Thats cool, just what I expected to see I guess you know about the wastegate port being too small causing the boost creep? What fettling did you have in mind. Cheers Iain
  6. Hi FD Can you do me a favour an test your VF35 for boost creep or has the wastegate been ported already? You either need to fit a short pipe between your turbo outlet nipple and the wastegate actuator or turn off your boost controller if fitted, then take your car for a few wide open throttle runs in 3rd and 4th and see if your boost climbs well over 1bar. Cheers Iain
  7. What turbo are you running? The VF35? Also you would require a further remap if I was to set the car up. Cheers Iain
  8. I have replied within the quote above in brackets mate. Cheers Iain
  9. DV = Dump Valve Was the std VF23 no good for you? Do you have any other mods, ie front mount intercooler and has the car been mapped? The bailey DV is renouned for sticking and causing boost and idle issues, but it could easily be something else. Cheers Iain
  10. I was going to come to this one too, sorry guys. Cheers Iain
  11. Hi mate, long time no see It was not me mate. Hows things??
  12. Hi mate just replied to your PM, I can highly recommend the IHI VF35 it is a very fast spooling turbo and with a good setup and on a good car it will easy see 350+ bhp (have had 367bhp on a MY00 UK Impreza). The turbo will need a little work though to stop it boost creeping. I would also suggest having your injectors upgraded to 550cc, nismo or power enterprise would be my choice. Also a very important part of the setup I use is the DV, I highly recommend the Forge 4010 BOV. Cheers Iain
  13. Ok I can now see the RO section, I am sure that you will have this sorted soon mate. Cheers Iain
  14. It will take a bit of getting the hang of, cant seem to submit my 1/4 mile time and still cant see the RO section Cheers Iain
  15. The boost fade may be due to a fault with the DV. But boost will fade off a fair bit at the top end anyway with the std turbo setup. Cheers Iain
  16. You might ba able to keep up then Pez Cheers Iain
  17. Ok just had a quick sit down and think about this one. The following items are required: Walbro fuel pump 550cc injectors FMIC Induction Kit NGK PFR7B plugs Ported Headers if UK spec, Tubular optional for the JDM Sti models. Silicone turbo intake pipe. 3 Port boost solenoid Ecutek or Simtek etc (mappable ECU) IHI VF35 turbo Assuming that all these bits are fitted and that the owner already has ecutek or simtek the setup can be completed with 2 final essential parts sourced new from a very well known company and the tweak on the map all for approx £400 (excuding any labour charges). (this price will be much lower if 2nd hand parts sourced). Please remember that I am NOT a trader or a company and that I am only passing advice on prices based on known market prices for parts and mapping etc. Cheers Iain
  18. A Lamborghini Gallardo? Cheers Iain
  19. You could run quite happily with that power. As you drive normally ie commuting or motorway etc the loading on the engine should be no more than as std infact a good map will probably drive better and give better mpg, its when you rag the nuts off the car everywhere that you knock the life down. Cheers Iain
  20. Seeing that the gate is open whilst you are at idle backs up what I said about a 2 piston DV, in the idle position the main piston floats in the mid position whilst the 2nd piston keeps the intercooler side sealed off. I think the spare spring will make no difference, you need to change your DV to a decent 2 piston one or the factory recirc, if you want a good 2 piston DV Forge do a good selection, if the one you have fitted is a Forge (cant tell from the vid) then it should really have a 2nd plastic piston and small spring. Cheers Iain
  21. I think reliability after upping the power relies on a few things ie how the car is driven and serviced, what fuel is used and the quality of the map itself. Cheers Iain
  22. I will only be able to give rough prices for the parts required. Leave it with me and I will get back with a few costings later. Cheer Iain
  23. I believe that it would be possible to get 400bhp from the 35 using Meth. I am running somewhere between 370 and 380bhp on V Power alone @ 1.4Bar so a boost hike to 1.55 and 10% meth should in theory see me over the 400 mark. I need to get mine on the dyno soon to see exactly what she is running. Cheers Iain
  24. I'm sorry, I guess that I did take it the wrong way mate, please accept my apology. I think after the negative feedback I was getting from scoobynet put me on defence straight away. On SN I had mentioned my Santa Pod figures and the above mentioned power figures and most of the replies were thats not possible etc etc blah blah blah. Cheers Iain
