  1. They are easy to take apart mate and the mechanisms can be modified. Cheers Iain
  2. Hi guys I have been searching through Youtube to find clips of me at USC and I have found these..... (cant find one of my fastest run which was run 3 against the Bond Bug) My second fastest run @ 11.87 I think I ran though @ 11.90 on this run I ran either an 11.9 or a 12.0 against this beasty. If you happen to find any other of my runs on the net please post them up, esp the one of me running an 11.801 @ 111mph vs the bond bug Out of interest the commentator mentioned that I was running drag radials, I am only running Parada spec 2 tyres, they are ok but I feel a good set of 888s will work wonders for my times Cheers Iain
  3. Well, I have been keeping busy fella. Cheers Iain
  4. It must be the amnesia grandad. How are you mate. Cheers Iain
  5. I advise you to port the 35 prior to fitting. If you have a full decat it will boost creep. Cheers Iain
  6. Thanks mate. Here are some of the other times off the sheets. 60ft 1.68sec 1/8th mile 7.5 seconds @ 93 mph 0 to 106mph in 9.6 seconds My 0 to 100 must be sub 9 seconds lol. Roll on a set of grippy tyres and a little less weight and we could be knocking on a low 11 Cheers Iain
  7. You know, you are the 2nd person to mention Opie Oils so I will defo approach them Cheers Iain
  8. Thanks for the feedback mate, I am on cloud nine at the moment. There were loads of people who came down from the stands to look at the car in the fireup lane, you should have seen their faces when I told them what power the car had and even better that it was all on std internals, clutch and gearbox. I am so tempted to start racing the 1/4 in competition now as I feel the car would do very well but it would be nice to have a few sponsors behind me if I was going to go down that road as there is only so much I can do on my own. Cheers Iain
  9. Hi guys, My best run was an 11.80 @ 111mph which I am very happy with given I am only running 370bhp on std internals, clutch and gearbox. There is more to come yet, I have not fully mastered the launch control yet, it is set too strong for my car and at 1.0 Bar off the line I just sit and spin all four wheels which is ok to watch but drops my 60ft down to 2.0+ from my usual 1.6 - 1.8. I was having to watch the boost controller off the line to try and catch the boost lower down to get the best from the launch. I only did 6 runs with launch control and they were all sub 12 sec runs (bar the very last last run), I did notice however that I was not getting full boost and tweaked the apexi for my last run to obtain better boost output and the result was huge, even though I had a crap start (2.2 60ft I think) it still ran a 12.0 at 113mph, if I had got a good start I would have been on for an 11.6 sec run at approx 114mph. I think my next best mod will be tires and with a good grippy set I could see a sub 1.6 60ft and a good sub 11.5 sec run. I know it is capable I just need to learn the new setup a little better and get it all right on the day. I have managed to peel nearly 0.5 sec off last years PB with just 20 more BHP, I am a very happy man The IHI VF35 is a legend of a turbo and I dont think I will ever change it, although I have though about fitting 2 lol Cheers Iain
  10. Well I am having a great day. Currently running 11.9 @ 107. Very happy with the setup. Cheers Iain
  11. That is great info there fella, but you will struggle to find time to play with the DCCD on the move whilst doing the 1/4 mile so its best to either leave it in auto which will pretty much do what you have said to do above, or set it fully open or somewhere near and leave it there for the run. Cheers Iain
  12. Only 5 days to go now. I can't wait. There must be more than just me going. Cheers Iain
  13. Hi all I was just interested to see how many of us will be going to USC this year, if there was a few of us going for the weekend then it may be worthwhile trying to meet up and set up camp together instead of being spread out all over the place. If you are going for the weekend please add your name below inc what days you will be there. Once there are a few of us we can arrange meeting times/areas etc. 1. Big 'D' Fri - Sun 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. Cheers Iain
  14. I cannot wait to see what mine does now, it feels way faster than it was last year Cheers Iain
  15. I am running approx 370bhp, my last run was at Japshow Finale last year with 350bhp and I clocked a 12.2 on the Saturday @ 110mph into a 40mph headwind, I have revised my setup and it is easily capable of a mid/low 11 sec run. If it were not for that headwind on the Saturday I would have easily clocked a high 11 Cheers Iain
  16. I would defo leave it in auto mate until you get the hang of the launches, I will be at USC too running my V3 Sti aiming for an 11.5 Cheers Iain
  17. Well what can I say. Yet again the club spirit or severe lack of shines through. Today should have been one of those great team buliding personal achievement sort of days but in the end the day was shared only by myself, SP, ED, Sti3Lewak and his partner and a couple of friends. Pushing my Impreza round castle combe was not just an idea for a charity fundraiser it was a great challenge which the 4 of us who ended up pushing rose to with great willpower and determination. Pushing 1200 kgs of Impreza 1.8 miles of twisty hilly track mostly into wind would put most off but 2 hungover servicemen and 2 of the smallest girls in the world dug deep and got the car round the track without any brakes or complaning. I for one am very dissapointed that out of all the 10 of people who jumped on the wagon at the start only a hand full of trully dedicated people showed. For those who did show and make that huge effort today, thank you all very much it was a great achievement by all especially those who were recruited last minute to help. We all did very well today and for 2 very worthy causes. I am sorry if this seems more of a rant than a writeup but to be honest I don't really care, I am disgusted in the overall lack of willing and support. Cheers Iain
  18. I managed to scrounge £136 out of the guys at work. Cheers Iain
  19. Dave, I am sorry I cant make your BBQ fella, are you still up for wearing the combats for the push on the day? Cheers Iain
  20. BP garage at Brize for 18:00 then mate. Cheers Iain
  21. Where and when should I meet you guys? Cheers Iain
  22. I am back from my travels so whitenoise will be there What is the total collected so far guys. Cheers Iain
  23. I should be able to pop over too. Cheers Iain
  24. A common cause for this fault is that your pipe under the intercooler has come loose and popped the seal out causing a huge boost leak/ power loss and the black smoke issue. Cheers Iain
