P1086 is a tumble generator fault code, it could be that you have a sticky tumble generator which is restricting airflow into the engine? Cheers Iain

It may be worth taking pics with a slightly wider view, th black thing with the connector on it looks like a tumble generator control valve. I did not think that they had any pipes attached, can you look and check to see that there is another pipe on the side of the white plastic 't' piece next to the dump valve please. Cheers Iain

To upload a picture you need to first upload the pic to an online photo storage like photobucket.com, then once uploaded you will have the option under the picture to copy the image code (IMG), if you copy the image code and paste it directly into the post text box you should then have posted your first picture. On a fairly std car you can pass the MOT with only the centre cat fitted but you have to give the car a good run first to get it up to temp. Cheers Iain

Oh dear, It looks like the throttle was lifted whilst the rear left wheel was still on the slippy rumble strip throwing it straight into lift off oversteer Cheers Iain

The fact you are making 0.5 0.6 BAR boost shows that the wastegate is working and you did see full boost with the actuator pipe disconnected so the turbo should be ok. If it is not the solenoid (the green plug test does not work on the bugeye onwards Imprezas), then perhaps it is a MAP sensor issue or you have a huge restriction somewhere. Cheers Iain

I took it out in the wet today and on a hard start (not a launch) and up through the gears I struggled to keep traction in 1st, 2nd and 3rd, when I say struggled for grip I could slow right down in 2nd to about 10mph floor it and all 4 wheels spin up, I dont know what Bob did to my car but it is was more savage than it ever was in the past. I need to learn the car all over again now Oh well. Cheers Iain
