  1. looks like the same place i got my latest one from - bit of fiddling to line up the holes for fitting but not much hassle and so far its lasting great, been on a year which is longer than any others ive had! mind you i may be getting better at dodging hings....
  2. but will the extra 39 horses overcome the weight penalty your cars carrying? good figure though, bet its a bit nippy now
  3. dunno lewis it could be, i never saw this mythical nsx - i was busy on the right route....
  4. ok people, the Norseman hotel has 22 rooms booked for our party and 11 available although they also have a wedding that night so it could fill up quickly. on the official list in the sticky section of events theres only 19 confirmed names so can the mysterious other 3 please step forward - and anyone else wanting to go make sure and add your name to the list or mail me and il add it - if i dont know your coming we wont wait for you if you run late for departure!
  5. welcome to the mad house mate, seen your pics in the other thread, lovely looking hawk youve got - now burn the credit cards while you can
  6. well actually the front of the train was parked up arranging photography before they caught up - in fact we made a tapestry of the view while we were waiting for them
  7. afraid so Barry but youve got to look at it as racerom and hatch or ecutek and blob - we made the right choice
  8. anyone know anything about any of the stis theyve got for sale just now? my mates looking at trading his colt turbo in for one from them, few nice ones lurking there though prices seem a bit high
  9. as i said Alastairs getting very happy customers although Andy mapped mine mine is a 2005 2.0l sti, not sure what boost its running - gauges are on my shopping list! hypertech has a rolling road but i know Andys laptop when he maps it gives you an idea of bhp figures through some fancy calculations! my decat was picked up 2nd hand as part of a 3" system, ngk's i got from pentland performance in edinburgh though ive now got hks iridium plugs which are apparently the mutts nuts and have a lifetime warranty for geometry progrip in bonnybridge are tremendous,John knows his onions!
  10. to be honest im not too bothered up until a week or two before - and even then as long as you can get a room your welcome the banters always fun - having covered the same roads gives everyone something to chat about, usually close shaves or people getting lost
  11. the tyres Barry, with someone holding on full lock i could see them rubbing amazingly different tyre brands are different widths! 225/40/18 toyos were stretched tight whereas goodyears give some rim protection
  12. that sounds similar to what i had after i had the anti lift kit fitted and new tyres with the coilovers - the extra few mm of brand new tread meant on full lock it was just fouling the track rod arm - after a few hundred miles problem went away
  13. howdy mate! id say sort the handling first, anti roll bars and drop links, set of eibach or whiteline springs or bc coilovers and then proper geometry setup will make a massive difference i had mintex 1144's on my car and far prefer them to the ds2500's i have now, braided lines and 5.1 fluid are well worth it though and id stick with standard discs unless you shell out big time for performance friction or similar powerwise id also check out trackhound tuning for mapping, got some very happy customers and cheaper than Andy F - coupled with a decat, panel filter and upgraded plugs i got 350hp on my sti. if youve PPP you should already have a 255 fuel pump good luck with burning out your flexible friend
  14. truly truly jealous Al! and nice to see the new workshops finished too all the best with the service, hope your managing to keep the chin up mate - not going to be the same on the fling without you!

  16. more the merrier mate have a squint here and if youve any questions drop me a line cheers Dave
  17. see what you mean about the security John, even if they make it past the dogs dobie the house elf will stop them!
  18. im interested in this too, still trying to pick pads for my AP's after being dissapointed by ds2500's - very tempted by pagids too
  19. RA are in perth mate, very helpful bunch of guys who know scoobs inside out exhaust looks and sounds good, hope you didnt help yourself to my new brakes while you were in!
  20. well il be up front so feel free to pass me whats Ali getting done this time? he still got both scoobs? Glyn you know you love it besides whats the worst that can happen......
  21. well according to the list in events we have 18 confirmed cars, quite a bit smaller than last year but still a decent group. any others booked and forgot to mention it or planning a late surge? let me know even if your a strong hopeful as i need to let our food stops and petrol stations know for demand and if your not thinking about it, why not??? if you only do one big run this year this is it - great roads, great scenery, great banter and all at your own pace
  22. theres a corsa round here with that one
  23. welcome newbie! now about the secret handshake....
  24. sorry mate prodrive exhaust got sold ages ago! that looks like a good bet, didnt know about them either Greig - hows the hawk going?
  25. how about going to c and c, meercat or a powerflow type place and just get a system made up to your own requirements? wouldnt imagine itd be a good idea to go from 3" pipework to 2.5" tailpipe - other way round would be fine also have a look for an sti genome backbox, very nice and quite subtle - personally my prodrive backbox lasted a whole month - waaaay too quiet, release the flat four!
