  1. 29K builds a good spec rally car!!!!
  2. Ach, bugger it. Think I will just keep my current line up., Not sure I could deal with getting a new car dirty[:|] Move the decimal point one didgit to the left and thats the budget I bought mine on. Still has the STI badge on it and is enjoyable to drive. Horses for courses n' all that
  3. Anyone signed on the line for one of these yet? How many are left as there are only 320 of them anyway. Just thinking that its a nice car, but I'm not so sure of what the depreciation will be like, compared to the cheaper Spec C for example. My money would be more likely to go to Litchfeilds for the Spec C. Opinions?
  4. Just over the hill from you Carnoustie. A place called Coatec. Guys name is Ewan.
  5. Ever since I saw the footage of this guy on CAL's website I have been looking for more. I managed to get some more this evening. Enjoy. =
  6. Going to try and get there next year too. My Nephews went this year as they stay just along the road from it. They went for three days as they said there was so much to see and do. Saw the piccys when we were down a few weeks later and it looked great. I would say it looks like a cracker to go to.
  7. Glad you got it sorted out Pete, It would have been a shame to have to travel 5000 miles just so I could change a fuse! Russell Who rattled your cage[]LOL Sorry Russell, didnt know you were away. Stay safe out there[]
  8. When the time allows it I'm often found playing my organ[] I like to collect various Scooby bits n bobs. Only got some out just now. More stuff still needing unpacked when the office is finished. And when we can, we head for the Lake District and go walking in the Fells and forests. Mostly Grizdale area. And then recharge the batteries at the Tapas bar in Bowness[] That's about it. Music, Cars/motorsport and outdoor pursuits
  9. Ball park figure with about 4K added on IMHO. Buy an STI6 and get all the bells and whistles[]
  10. Matey, Its a stab in the dark, but have you checked ALL the fuses? Engine bay(N/S), drivers side (just below fog lamp switch) and check up in behind the fuse box as there can often be additional in line fuse holders for aftermarket fit items such as the alarm. Get up in behind there with a flash light and check it out good and proper. Failing that, trace the wiring back through the bulk head and see where the alarm box is then check out the feeds to it. Pain in the ar5e, but unless you have the wiring diagram infront of you and/or an alarm specialist....you will just need to do the Sherlock Homes bit yourself[] Or call WUZmeister and get him to bring a power probe and a multi meter[]
  11. How much is it for a set of defi's these days. Used to be £555 for them. That was the pod, gauges & contoller Just curious. Am I too high or too low?
  12. 1) Someone who can read a map 2) Someone who pays for the fuel 3) Someone who says nowt[]
  13. Car related ...in a way http://videos.streetfire.net/video/3c8581e...64eb16269ae.htm []
  14. Dont tell the Mrs,but.......most of this is ready to fit..... Coilovers A pair of Sparco seats and mounts Oil cooler FM Intercooler (if I can find the right one) RCM Air filter with HM box(still to order) Full service P.S pump Essential gauges Mud Flaps Oil pump and sump Under body protection Set of Wheels And on the wish list depending on time before I go off to work...but most likely to take longer than that... Port the headers Fuel rails Inlet manifold Up pipe and D pipe work to re position the windmill Turbo ECU ......etc Did I mention shell to???[] Think if I get the first list sorted out before Crimbo I will be doing well Oh....and a partridge in a pear tree
  15. I'm hearing you Dave. Fair comment regarding the road driving V the oil temp. I guess it can depend on the driver and his manner of driving. I know that for the likes of K Hill and tight road sections , ie.twisty sections where the cars not out of 2nd and 3rd and not getting a good flow of air through it, the oil cooler makes for a worth while addition. Hot oil =thin oil= Rattle rattle[] Dont think many folk bother with these as they dont make a noise, look shiney or make it go any faster. However[:|]
  16. Fit an oil cooler. Look after the engine you have just now. No use trying to fit one after its been cooked. Just my tuppence worth.
  17. Brian, almost as clean as my Version 1 engine bay[] NOT!! Well done dude. Did you get my mail regarding the Air Con parts from mine btw?
  18. Looked at the A4 and A6 Avants today. Both very nice but I think we will try the A6 first. Considered the petrol option but the 3.0 diesel is better in terms of torque delivery on paper and has more scope for tunning if I get it re mapped. Stand by for the report in the next week or so when the demo car comes in.
  19. LOL I remember the day it made a CBR 600 rider "wee" all over the place too. Pity it lost me after 120(ish) Imy, Trust me. Mine has very little in common with wrxmanias example. His is show room.Mine is , errrrmm......not. And in a few weeks wont even have a full complement of seats, interior or other pointless parts[] This car makes me sex wee all over the place
  20. My first Scooby, MY98, Blitz BB with Revoltion DP and a stupid air filter Version 5 STI Type RA.(600 eater to 120mph) Worst buy ever. Max power edition Chav Impreza! And now No4 (No5 if I count the L series I had when I was 17) STI Version 1. Fully home made exhaust system, Prova ECU running on the highest of high octane fuel. Stupid air filter thats about to get binned (same as the MY 98) [] And a few other bits n bobs in the form GrpN goodies. No Max power 5hite please!!
  21. Not thats fussed for the RRS as its just that step below the real RR. Only reson were taking the drive is down the the fact the sales man is desperado for us to drive it for a few days[H] Not bothered about the fact its a tad "sportier" than its big brother. Im not looking for a speed machine. The Scooby is at the door for that. Im needing good boot space, comfort and safety. Im not keen on the volvo or the Forester. The Tribeca isnt for us. If anything it would be a Lecacy Outback, but not keen on them either. The Audi is ahead of the RR in my eyes just now. Not driven an A6 Quattro 3.0 , but im sure it will tick the boxes. The problem I have is the missus wants the RR , so you know how hard thats going to be to get round!! End of the day, I wont drive it much. Its her car, so its best that she likes it. I had the Audi pack sent to the house and she recived it today. I told her to have a wee look at it and see if she liked it. Perhaps it will have grown on her by the time I get home:P !! Andy, I know what your saying about the Audi for towing, but im sure it could pull a tonne and a half no bother. There will be very little weight in the Scooby and a trailer. I used to pull about that weight with my first MY98 Scooby and it never bothered it, so the Quattro should breeze it[] Just need to see what the test results are in a few weeks time[]
  22. Just been organising a few test drives for when I get back from work next month. Was wondering if any of you lot would be able to give me a head start with the any of them with regards to personal opinions gained from owning and driving them. First one is the Audi A6 Avant 3.0 diesel, Quattro S line. Im drawn to it because of its greedy storage space, under bonnet grunt, 4WD system and all round capability. Its going to be more reliable and more friendly on the pocket than the other options too. The other options are the Range Rover TD6 and the Range Rover Sport TDV6, (perhaps a Discovery3 too) Not as good on go go juice as the Audi, but great driving position, spec and off road capability from all three. We have always had a jeep to get us out of trouble in the snow and when were up at the parent house its no problem to go for trips into the forest for fire wood with the trailer on the back , etc. Moving to the Audi would mean the purchase of a quad or the likes. (might not be a bad thing )It will still plough through the snow and be safe all year round with its Quattro system. Its also scores well in the NCAP resuts. Just not sure yet. Looked at 5 series Tourers, but no use as they aint 4WD, same with all the other decent size estate cars. Dont want an X5 or an ML (for personal reasons, just dont like em) So we have managed to narrow it down to those three. Like I said, I will know what we like when we get them for a few days. I want it to be big enough for all the junk the wife carries around, ie half of Tescos and pushchairs without spilling over to the back seats for extra storage space. Its also got to be safe as houses. Thats pretty much how I drew up the short list. All of the above will also be able to pull a car trailer no prob's either. So its another plus. Anyway, enough drivel. If you have a story, let me know. I hate having a new car for a few weeks then getting the old line " You didnt buy one of those did you!"[:@] Feed back appreciated[]
