Its taking me three flights, two were delayed and now my baggage is lost. Im sitting in Gatwick right now, waiting for an extra four hours to get the flight to Edinburgh due to missing the early morning one. I aint slept for over a day and a half and I just want to get to bloomin' bed!! I dont mind though...cause it means I dont need to spend christmas day sailing past the Bahamas. I can freeze my nutz off in Bonnie scotland

We wont ever forget him and we never should. It was good that he saw the support he had from all his fans round the world, not just here in the UK. It would have helped him over the past few years he fought against his illness. There can be nothing worse than the feeling of being alone when going through something as terrible as Richard did. I just hope I never have to experiance it as I dont think I could be as positive and brave as he was. He was the "Gentleman" as they say. Not big headed and was always willing to learn from the more experienced guys in the game when he was still up and coming. Still remember his first year in the Impreza and he was entertaining but also fast. A few hairy moments and unlucky ones too, but thats just the way of the sport. No matter how you look at what he achived over his rally years....he was one of the top men. With a World rally Championship win under his belt, no one can say he wasnt the best Lets not forget him

Sounds good Christopher As the laziest R.O on here I would like to say...on you go and organise it. I will do what ever I can to help -
Finnie is right. Its a common problem with these cars and not always just the Classic's There isnt much that can be done about the problem. Fit a new clutch and/or flywheel but it might happen again. My first Uk car had this problem most of the time and the easiest way to cure it was to stick it in third gear and try to pull away from a stop with a little rev's. The car wont even need to move, its just to get the clutch slipping I made the clutch slip for 5-10 seconds and it was perfect for another wee while. Might not work on your car, its did on mine though. Good luck

Just noticed that your saying hes not wanting to go through his insurance......... I think the ball is in your court here. He might have a high £££ to pay if he makes a claim. Just lay the cards on the table, tell him its not a cheap repair and that you r happy top keep the police and your solicitors out of things if he stumps up the cash now. Let him think that you have taken steps to start the legal ball rolling but can stop any hassle if he goes to the hole in the wall right now Good luck -

Ally got a call from the Nissan garage the other day asking how her new Jeep was doing and if the cherished plate was through...blah blah blah. Anyway, he than asked her if i ever had any mechanical problems with the car and she ofcourse said "No" apart from the three engines it had The reason for him asking was because they were unable to get it to start since the day I droped it off!! I thought it was just due to the poor battery that was on her and also the fact it hated cold weather starts too, but thought it was funny they couldnt get her to go if they had been boosting it So a few days passed by and I hear through the grape vine that the car is still not going. At this point in time I was thinking about going in myself and removing the Unichip and running the car on the factory ECU and trying it...but I didnt Its was only today that i found out it has burst the timing belt!!! I have now been told by a reliable source that it had destroyed one of the pullys and I guess it will have done much the same to the valves etc!! Cant belive that after two years of owning the car it decided to die on me the day i left her in that nasty Nissan garage On the up side...I'm sure Arnold will have made enough from the sale of the jeep to cover the repairs!!! Just shows you how lucky you can be at times

When some donkey hit my first scooby when Ally was driving it I hunted him down like a dog!! He rumped up the back of it and bashed the bumper etc. Blamed ally for it and gave her greif!!! She got his name and number from him and left the scene. She came into my work and told me. I in turn went BUSH!!! Didnt know where he lived but had his number. Matched code to Dunblane and name to street and also house number Got in car and arrived at said addess. Man wouldnt come out of house untill I had almost shattered his door knocker!!!! Problem was sorted within five minutes. Face to face is the answer Take no prisoners!!! Its yer pride and joy

Dont be daft Iain. Hes at fault here!! If it was me I would nip round and see him face to face and offer to keep it out of the hands of his insurer by him paying for the repirs in person. Like I said, be friendly and just keep it simple. Tell hi it will be around £100 to repair it and you will be happy for him to pick up the tab. Or you use your witness and involve the police Simple
-
Iain, Dont take any S**t from him. Just cause hes a solicitor it cant make him invincible from wright and wrong!! I would call him in the morning and explain the situation. Dont threaten him in any way, just be diplomatic and calm. He will hopefuly offer to pay for the repairs in cash. Tell him you will get a couple of quotes so he can see whats needed and go from there If all else fails......ask the police for some advice??
