  1. Hmmmm....tempting. About time I did something to this motor of mine...
  2. Apologies for off-topic, but this is just too funny not to share. We often see vids of kids scaring their parents. It's payback time! Clicky me
  3. I want to know this too! My back ones look fine, but the front look corroded and yucky. I promise not to do them in gold and red if you tell
  4. Sounds like a blast, but unfortunately co-incides with the Leuchars Airshow and that, a mate and a coolbox of beer are a regular event.
  5. Partly to bump this back to the top, but also to say apart from the £50 I already pledged over the DEFRA thing, I reckon I can pull at least another ton out of the gits at work, plus a few quid more from Trials folk in Scotland. I've not been to a meet yet (deferred due to nasty scratches on Scooby and ongoing fight with Inland Revenue preventing me from getting them fixed ), but see this as a fantastic and very worthwhile event and something I'd very much like to be part of. However, I would never jump on the back of the efforts of others and would only partake if I made a reasonable donation. I reckon at VERY least £250 once I get my efforts going.
  6. Nowt wrong with Seat's mate. Used to work for a chain of dealerships and used to get a new car every few weeks to stick some miles on so they could sell it as an ex-dem. They gave me a Cordoba 1.9TDi - flew like sh** off the proverbial. Only time in my life I've ever been pulled by a cop was in that and that's just cause he was solo and on an ego trip. Gotta love Scots Law - couldn't do me on his ownsome
  7. << Luverly looker >> The car or Daisy Duke? I think the mesh looks fantastic - passed a Scoob up Aberdeenshire way a few months ago that had it done and it looked great, Love to have it done, but is it not a real bitch to keep clean once the flies get into it?
  8. Virgin's Premium Economy is great. Champagne on arrival, decent recliners, plenty legroom etc. I'd be careful with a Chinese airline though - they're not noted as being the tallest of nationalities so their idea of extra legroom might not be the same as ours!
  9. Who was it? Silver Scoob with SIDC tax disc holder. Cycled past it. Nice motor.
  10. << it sticks to the road like diaoreah to a hairy rug !!! >> Not heard that one before. Love it!
  11. << nice to be here m8...BTW i just checked yer site and none of the links seem to work (but ya probably know that already lol) >> I spotted that too. Don't work in Firefox, but fine in IE. PS Welcome
  12. I would have said The Crannog in Fort William without a second thought, but this happened to them earlier this year. They are still open, but relocated. If you're into seafood that really does taste like it's just been caught then give them a try.
  13. It's being playing up all day. Micro$lop at their very best.
  14. Only thing I would ever contemplate going to them for would be tyres, but since I was pleased with the service and price (F1's fitted cheaper than Black Circles even with SIDC discount) I got from Jim Dickson, plus I like to support the little guy, there's nothing that interests me there. Sorry to be negative, but it's the truth.
  15. Was that anybody on here? If so, a gorgeous looking motor with a fantastic sounding "burble". I was the bloke crossing the road that almost walked into the parked car I was that distracted
  16. Sorry that this is off-topic, but for all those on here who work offshore. An online petition has been organised to keep the MET Office station in Aberdeen that is under threat, yet so vital to providing local weather conditions. Click here for link Once again, apologies for off-topic.
  17. This was featured in the first True Grip I received and must admit I thought it a fantastic article and idea when I read about it. A few months back when DEFRA was threatening off-road sport, zeolite posted this thread asking Scottish Scooby users to sign an online petition. I'm very much involved in Motorcycle Trials which would have been virtually eradicated under the originally proposed legislation. It was only down to the backlash from the motosport community in general that DEFRA changed their stance. As owner of the biggest Trials site on the Web, to say thank you for your support, I'll donate £1 towards Santa Cruise for everyone who responded to that topic saying they'd signed. I make it £27 which I'll round up to £30. The support was very much appreciated from all areas. Who do i send the cheque to?
  18. Back end, Evo. Front end. A Seat and an Alfa had a shag and this is the offspring.
  19. << Looks like the goodyears are a snakes bawhair in front, will make a few more calls and then decide. >> Whoever it was I spoke to at Dickson's, I said it was my first tyre change and said I'd had conflicting recommendations on the F1's and the Proxes. The guy said he ran Proxes himself (no car make mentioned) and they were a good tyre, but between them and the F1, recommended the Goodyears. I don't think that was out of a "we'll make more money on Goodyears" thing either. He seemed genuine on it. The conversation ended with "See you next Thursday - I'll have the coffee on". I liked that touch.
  20. How competitive are Hypertech price-wise? I've seen them mentioned a lot, but going by their site their main focus seems to be performance bits. I'm needing new disks/pads, but not after anything overly fancy. They're local and seem to be highly thought of on here which counts for a lot IMO.
  21. << AndyWRX....My pm out doesn't work so I will answer you here. Mine were 16" and were £64 each from the website. >> Cheers. I'm 17" Phoned Jim and got what I consider a good price. Dunno if it was him who answered the phone, but whoever it was was obviously dead chuffed when I said I was calling because they'd been recommened to me by guys at the SIDC.
