  1. As above, is anyone planning to go? Have heard that Andy may be making an appearance to test out the new high grip surface on the start line.
  2. License and long sleeve shirt will be required as well
  3. They weren't faster, they were just harder to pass. Surpised they never stuck a caravan on the back.
  4. Gutted for you Fee. These people are scum [:@].
  5. Not sure what you mean here. Do you mean full throttle or a top speed run? If you mean full throttle then I'm not sure what problems this would create if the fueling's sorted. If you mean top speed run then it would be no more prone to det than any other Subaru with a top mount intercooler.
  6. Thats a bold statement. I ran my type r with simlar mods and no remap and it had no det whatsoever. As long as the fueling is up to scratch (pump and fpr) and booster is used it should be fine. Some sort of det monitoring would be a very good idea also. Nice car BTW [Y]
  7. Sounding sweet mate. Might get you to do the same for me (full blown launch styleeee) so I can finally hear it from the outside.
  8. And just wtf is wrong with my shirts??? [] At least i wear mine and dont lift them!!! [][] STAY LOUD.....STAY PROUD!!! [] OH NO!!! I've become the victim of the best comeback ever[:$][:$][:$] I'm afraid there's nothing to top that one.
  9. Good idea!!! At least I can console myself that its not as loud as AndyJDM's (shirts).
  10. Any heat out of the heaters?
  11. Hmmmmm, starting to get a bit personal now. It a big one I can assure you but would only go down that route as a last resort because of the fueling issues mentioned above. Big thanks for the offer though. Would it be too daft to ask the local cop shop to test it or would I be setting myself up for a big problem?
  12. Have considered the bung method but as I'm moving to a MAP based map and away from the MAF it could mess up the fueling adding/removing it. Need to see just how close or over the limit I am.
  13. Seriously Ricey, you need to hear this thing. It's feckin ridiculous.
  14. With my car fast approaching it's final map I've bee thinking about letting it loose at SSO and the like. The thing is I know they've introduced a static 105db noise limit this year and I'm not sure if my car would pass. Does anybody have access, or know somewhere that does, to a db meter so that I could test it beforehand?
  15. Well done Imy, that looks like a cracker, can't wait to see it for real at the next meet. Does this mean you'll be leading one of the groups on the next run???
  16. Can you spin the wheels on your car? If not then you'd be wasting your time and giving your clutch 2 pastings instead of one.
  17. I dont't think you'll find a "definitive" lauch technique that'll work for all cars and all drivers. For example, if I try to lanch my car at any less the 5k it'll bog down very badly because I have an extremely lightweight flywheel. Someone with a standard one may well be able to get away with less but not me. Them you have to account for available grip and rotational masses. With my old 16" Rays wheels there was bugger all weight in them and the Yang Tong tyres on them were not the grippiest. This meant that the best launch technique for me was to spin all four tyres halfway up the strip. If I'd tried this with heavier wheels and grippier tyres I might have gubbed the clutch or box. There is other factors to concider also, dccd (if you've got it) and engine power bands would factor also.
  18. I don.t think you'll be needing any more tips from me Fee as knocking almost half a second of your personal best is a fantastic result. Tell me, did you even get beat once??? When the decat goes on you'll be in the 12's easy. It was a real struggle not to put in on the strip but the next time things will be different. As for my tyres, engine and all the other excuses I had for not running on Sunday....well that'll all be taken care of by the end of the month. Hopefully. Iqy - I'm afraid I don't know who was in the Cool Grey Type R but Johnny was up with me (a.k.a. Colin) in the other black Type R.
  19. 1. Fee 2. Adam 3. Brian 4. Playsatan2 5. JohnnyR6 6. Coulty anymore for anymore...........
  20. Might seem like a silly question but you've checked that the wheel nuts are tight? A sort of soft clunking noise is the best way to describe the noise if they are starting to work loose.
  21. Well done Wilky. Like you said if you don't ask........
  22. Doubt you could afford my missus hourly rate, I know I can't. If you're needing a hand pop along to the Glasgow meet tonight and I'm sure they be on in 2 mins. Failing that just ask and I'm sure someone local would help out.
  23. There must be loads of cars running about with a similar spec to yours and no remap. Do you have any way of monitoring det at all (knocklink)? Before I had my motor mapped I ran the same spec but with a adjustable fpr so I could up the fueling to compensate for the improved breathing of the filter and exhausr mods. I had no det and no problems at all. Oh yes and 320bhp [H].
  24. I'll leaving the mincing to the experts (you for starters) but I'm unable to get out tonight as I'm stuck at work till midnight. Don't worry though, the car was only finished this afternoon and its already got 120 miles on it.
