  1. Yeah you a quite right.........GT4 will never give you a feel for :- gradients grip levels blind crest & corners cambers wet kerbs & the cobbles ! Gotta replace tyres, pads and discs before I go which will be costly [:S], got Andy F remap coming up soon too so my pennies are taking a pouding ! Cheers Cal
  2. Nice one guv !! I was actually there twice when your car was there as I got my wife's Golf washed and then had the Scooby washed straight after. I have seen you chariot several times around Cove (and heard it too !! lol !!). I have actually put out a WIY ( was it you) a few times to track down the "GPS" mobile. I love your RA, it's in mint condition and sounds the dawgz too. I was gonna come over and speak to you but it's a bit tricky if i do not know if you're an SIDC member or not...........but now I know ! Other Cove Scoobs :- Red Classic ( Charlie) Black Blobeye STi ( not tracked him down yet) Blue Blobeye STi (( not tracked him down yet) WR1 ( near where you live) Craig Mac ( Portlethen area so almost Cove) What sort of exhaust is that you have ? Afterburner ? Any other mods Cheers Cal p.s I cannot believe how many Scoobs there are in Aberdeen at the moment, it's incredible !

  4. [Y] After talking about it for yonks I have finally got my act together and booked a ferry & hotel...... I will be accompanied by another Bugeye and two Evos..... Hotel is a stones throw from the Ring so I cannot wait to soak up the atmosphere and banter. The autobahns should be fun too but it seems the Scoobies do not appreciate high speed runs so this will need to be curtailed to a certain extent ! ( I think there is an IC airflow issue @ > 130mph) Anyone else been over there ? Any tips welcome ? Russell (Wuz) is also planning a mission in summer with dates tbc. Unfortunately the CalCam will have to be switched off at the Ring cos filming is no longer allowed ! http://www.nuerburgring.de/ ( click on English button) http://nurburgring.org.uk/ ( very useful site) http://nurburgring.org.uk/taxi.html Cheers Cal
  5. Nice write up Johno.............looking for new pads / discs myself soon CGS
  6. Hi - yeah I think it was open till end of March so just give Andy a bell Cheers CGS
  7. In 1998, my old boy bought a Sport and 3 months later ( inevitable !) he traded in for a classic Turbo. After 12 miles on the Stockiemuir Road with my fruity faither at the wheel I was smitten. He has driven that road twice a day for the last 8 yrs so he knows every convceivable camber, bump, apex. The grip and the burle were intoxicating............ The route to Scoobydom was slow as I was doing 350 miles a week for a while and the thus the Civic Type R thwarted the black buggy's arrival ......... The rest is history.........I thought my whip was lookin' tight until I saw Andy new fatty mobile ! Lucky Forker Big Col McCrae was another big influence for me Cheers Cal
  8. THE ULTIMATE SUBLIME SUPERB please tell me you will be on the March run ? if so I will be there with my camcorder for some footage off this Godly creation ! One more thing, what are we gonna call this beast ? Cheers Cal
  9. I am pretty sure Craig Mac or Wuz had some ? I had RE070's for a while - AMAZING on Knockhill when up to temperature .... CGS
  10. To be honest a WR Sport or Prodrive BB will sound pretty darn similiar to the smaller tip ( I have been down that road too.....)
  11. Also forgot to say that I had a Magnex on my old Civic and it too gave my a dull headache at motor way revs Keevster also had a full system and it was slightly wearing at > 60 mph CGS
  12. H&S small tip is puuurfect ! I have on sports cat and no resonators and it is sweet at 70-80 mph. The Magnex is very boomy / bassy...............the H&S is refined to a certain extent until you prod the fun pedal. Bing has the H&S larger tip and it seems fine too albeit a tad louder I have tried other exhausts and the H&S is the biz for me.... Cal
  13. Sounds like a braw time was had my all [H]......................I suppose the cold tarmac is not good for launching but you will get the benefit of lovely cold air for the charge temps. Loving the Noble video - some noise of that Scooby like ! I would have come down for the day but I love my clutch too much and the car is @ 60k now so looking after the auld girl. The weather looked good though folks Any more pics or videos ? Cheers Cal
  14. Meant to add that the cat will be heavily polluted too if the car has been running rich. Cat will be less efficient basically How warm was the engine when it was tested ?
  15. I am not sure but would shoving a recirc dv back in make the car run less rich ? Might be worth trying as it is very easy to change over. I might be talking nonsense though but it does affect the fueling assuming your DV is a VTA CGS
  16. With Gazza Moulson you fill in a form with all the modified parts. I think he is even decat friendly too. He actually knows every conceivable part. Also they are not fussed with motoring points ( although I have none) which is a bonus when the motorist is being drained in every direction. Privilege wanted £70 from me to fit a backbox.........a total joke ! Even when it was a Subaru WR Sport one. Then when I went to add 18" rims and a few minor other parts is started to turn ugly. That was when I papped them. Other experiences may differ but I am only relaying my own.... My wifes best friend is Head of Car Insurance Marketing for Direct Line ( amonst others under the RBS umbrella) and is very useful for truthful info. Have a read of this too http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/3227849.stm Again, I am just speaking from my own experiences. We all know insurance is a rip off and a bit of a minefield Do what feels right for you Jimbo ..... CGS p.s strut braces is another topic to consider. Insurers dont like em as they transfer energy easily and potentially can increase chassis damage etc etc
  17. Privilege are rubbish for mods. I used to be with them and switched to Keith Moulson with every single mod declared and still saved £200. Total peace of mind is worth it in my opinion...........insurance inspectors are not daft CGS
  18. Just a custom Jap job from C&C with no resonator .............it was a nightmare on the motorway though CGS
  19. Forgot to say..............here is my famous video clip .............it sounded braw @ full pelt ( jap zorst & CAI) http://www.shand-online.co.uk/index_files/...n%20a%20CTR.wmv CGS
  20. Nice buy ma' man ! I did 12 track days in my old CTR and scalped a fair few Scoobies in the process......... On the modding front, may sir recommend a Jackson Racing Super Charger ? = Enjoy ! They are a hoot but watch out for the nap on oversteer ! Cal
  21. LOVING the blue Scoobu with the numero one decal ! Nie work fella CGS
  22. Are you upgrading the IC hoses at the same time ? http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/catalog/produ...products_id=878 Worth doing at the same time Cheers Cal
  23. Welcome you lucky bar steward ! I love that car............have fun and enjoy the mad house Cheers Cal
  24. Nice whip indeed.............love the colour, rims and power ! I'd take of the graphics myself and go for a RB320 stealth look ! Enjoy it ! Cal
