About MarkMac

  1. Think that would have been me. If only they did Hawkeye STI wagons I might not have strayed! Got it about a month ago from Car Planet. Not a bad wee load lugger to be honest!
  2. Hi Does AndyF do ECUTEK for EVOs? Might be interested if he can. Also, does it have to be 'his' map or can he tweak a previously mapped ECUTEK license? Where will the mapping be done? Aberdeen, Glasgow? Cheers Mark
  3. Hi all Just had my first trackday on Saturday after owning my MY00 for about 5 years! Wish I'd done it about 5 years ago - What a laugh! Knockhill is magic! Anyway, my brakes seem to be really soft since coming off the track. They're just standard 4 pot Subaru jobs with standard pads. A lot more travel in the pedal and less 'bite' than before. Have the pads 'glazed' or something? Will it go away, or are they shot? Any info would be gladly appreciated. Mark Ps. I know I probably should have upgraded pads, fluid and hoses etc. before the track, but it was a bit of a last minute thing. Maybe next time - and there will definitely be a next time!!
  4. Only kidding. I drove about for a bit with high revs to get the heat up. Then I tried the plug off on thing but only revved it for about 30 secs with the plug off. Then it passed the emissions with flying colours! The tester thought I was off my rocker! He ate his words though Cheers for the info everybody, have to remember all this stuff next year! Mark
  5. A bit too late, mate! I just blew the exhaust off the car! Took the bumper with it! Fook!
  6. Where's Sean Connery when you need him? - "Shocking..." I worked that one out! I might be useless but not THAT useless! edit - PS. I realise that the cat won't catch fire, but the unburnt fuel might?
  7. Cool I'll try the plug off - rev - plug on thing if Scoobyworld can't suggest anything. cheers all
  8. All that fuel (and the resultant fire!) on the cat won't damage it will it? It's only new!
  9. Please let me know how you get on with this after changing the lambda sensor Eurosti. Mark
  10. Do lambda sensors fail often? I've owned the car for 5 years and never had it replaced. Is it likely that the exhaust is faulty? I'm still waiting for a reply to my recent telephone call to SW, so I haven't heard their side of it yet.
  11. The lambda was at 0.88, but fluctuating, the tester says. Is this far off? He also said that the car was tested about 5 mins after dropping it off, so I can't see it having cooled down much. It was also running throughout the test, so it would have been up to temp, no? Mark
  12. AS above - bugger! Even though SW go into detail on their site regarding the fact it will pass without any other cats - it just didn't! £300 well spent, eh? The tester said it failed with 0.67 CO2 which should only be 0.3! Also lambda failed and something else, can't remember what. I've emailed Scoobyworld a minute ago but nothing back yet. Might have to phone. Anyway, has anyone else heard of this happening? I've searched around and I can only find a post on 22B about one of those failing, but they were more modified than mine. All I've done is decat and Sports cat! I'm at a loss. Don't want to re fit the old DP cos it was a real hassle and I only did it a few months ago. Also I'm not sure where the orig centre section is, cos I am led to believe that might help it pass if it was refitted for the test. Any help much appreciated cos I need to get this sorted ASAP. Cheers Mark
  13. Looks good! How much wrap did you use for the downpipe? Is it 2" stuff? I'm thinking about putting in a sports cat downpipe and wrapping it. Anyone know of any potential problems with that (cracking etc.)? I'm considering the Scoobysport ninja 100 cell job, so the workmanship should be up to scratch. Cheers Mark
  14. Cheers pals Looks like i'm in the market for a new backbox, then. Anyone got the H&S backbox for sale? Normal diameter one, not the big one? Mark
  15. I've had a magnex 6x4 on my classic scoob for aout a year and a half, but i can't stand the drone at 70mph. I'd like to have the burble etc. at low speed but I hear that the Hayward & Scott is better in the high speed categeory: eg. not so loud and drony. Anyone have any experience of both these exhaust?
