  3. He would have been one of these lucky fellas :- http://forums.sidc.co.uk/forums/thread/916671.aspx Cal
  4. deep and beefy without the nose bleeds - I had one a changed for an H&S Scoobysport. TBH they sound pretty similar. Deffo recommend having an unresonated section too CGS
  5. Ah hear ya brother........will see you in 7 days for a gid chat........ Back on topic :- It's the little tricks that only experience can give you..................example - I once fitted a dump valve myself - pretty damn easy, But trying to fit the standard re-circ was a nightmare. It' was only when Wuz & Marc helped me out that I knew to put the silicon inlet manifild to intercooler hose in a cup of hot water before you attempt fitting it. And that the IC sits sightl off to onside when you fit it. Also when doing on oil change you need to pre-fill the filter. Which takes a good 10 mins and a lot of oil to fill properly. The to disconnect the crank sensor.... Brake pads I reckon I coukd tackle after watching Wuz. But if I make a boo-boo then who the hell is gonna come round to my garage and fix it at 2000hrs in the evening. It's a different story if I had another car to cut about in but the Scoob is my daily runner.... Anyone got any "how to" guides while we are on the subject ? Cheers CGS
  6. Is does my nut in that I am too afraid to tackle the most menial of tasks. It made me wonder how much most of the SIDC community know about their cars and their associated components ? From the Squirrel to those who never even look under the bonnet, from Cambeltown to Peterheid ! My knowledge has increased greatly ( w.r.t modding) but I wish I knew how gearboxes, diff's, brakes, steering racks etc work and the like.... Has anyone every been on night classes ? I would love to tackle the basic jobs but it's all down the confidence. I have huge respect for the likes of Wuz & Higgy who will tackle any job in their own garage. The risk of making an erse of these type of jobs is simply too high for me.....even changin' brakes pads - not exactly a job you want to c0ck up given the safety perspective ! Cal
  7. The perfect compliment to the STi ............and the ultimate dogging chariot [Y] " I like..........very much " Cal
  8. Aside from the dropped boll0cks................dont you just love :- the rasp of the exhaust the way Petta flicks his car into the temporary base camp the look of the new car ( on nice wide tarmac rims though) the way he effortlessly flings the car sideways the fact he swears like a trooper Davie Lapworth is a legend in my opinion. Great leader and balls of steel Roll on next week ! Cal
  9. Loving this series but not the reliability of the 2007 Subaru car..............they ain't having much luck so far
  10. V-power here too and then a Millers ON top up if going on a spirited run !
  11. I have papped this back to the front because people keep going on meets and not knowing who's faces are who's Does no-one think this is worth doing ? See my sig for an example ...... If everyone did this then you would have a MUCH better chance of a) knowing more people and building a stronger community. Cal

  14. I think this is the same car that Craig Mac spotted a while back........red classic with the RB5 style high spoiler that was bought from Charlie Anyway clocked you today at an estimated 80 mph on the 40 mph dualler between the two Shell garages in Altens You went one direction and round the roundabout and repeated the exercise......the speed involved was a joke You really need to ask yourself how long it's going to be before you kill yourself or someone else...... You are giving the rest of us Aberdeen Scooby drivers a bad name [:@] [:@] [:@] Anyone else know who this nutter is ? CGS
  15. excuse my ignorance but wots that? a game??[:$] Playstation 2 GT4 driving game[] Aye 33 left handers and 40 right handers to try and memorise ! All over 12.9 heavenly miles........ Dont forget to Skyplus the F1 highlights folks CGS
  16. I ended up not going........ Saving some green for my Nuburgring trip and Andy F remap. New tyres all round, pads and discs + remap is a sore one to swallow ! Was gonna ride shotgun with Dale but now doing some DIY'ing [:'(] & GT4'ing [au] instead Too cold to wash the car now though [:$] Have a good day folks Cal
  17. Gary Moulson is the main man ! It's a nice feeling knowing that every part of your chariot is fully declred and that he understands what these things are... They must have had a power of business lately but rightly so ! They aint too fussed about points either ( not that it worries me ) CGS
