  1. This may be of use to some of the newer coupons...... http://cgshand.googlepages.com/home I will try to resurrect my old site when I find the inclination. The above was just an experiment with the free Google pagebuilder Cheers Cal
  2. Bloody Yanks have the holiday driving season kickin' off and have realised their supplies are lower than expecte.....cue price hike in a barrel of oil and knock on global effect ! Opec ain't gonna open up the taps anymore for the foreseeable future Not the best ! CGS
  3. Andy - for info, the last road dyno you did for me was only 0.1bhp out compared with my last Dastek session. Not bad going Glad you are enjoying the extra shove in the 'rex JImser !! CGS
  4. VLN racing on the Nurburgring Circuit and spilling onto the Nordschleife The Evo versus the BMW clip on the Nordschleife is pure sax http://ring-emotionen.de/Onboardvideos%20S...boardvideos.htm CGS
  5. I am on standard injectors and a plain old WRX IC.........I would go for the TD04-H if you can afford it as it's the best of both worlds. Fast spool up and won't die on you at 5500 rpm. I was happy to get over 300 bhp and will leave my car "as is" for now.....I miss the TD04 spool up but in reality the VF35 is only 500 revs behind it in terms of target boost..
  6. Maybies..............but almost every pension in the UK is linked to the share price of oil majors so it's not all bad news. Petrol stations mae "hee haw" revenue from fuel sales. 4p in every litre IIRC ! Why are they greedy though..........why should these well established 100 year old companies not make a decent profit from what is a highly specialised, unique and capital intensive industry. If anything it's the shareholders who are to blame as they demand a % increase on previous years profits. I feel a capitalism thread coming on ......... I do appreciate everyones views but you have to remember the oil companies are about more than fuel production. The toothpaste tube you used this morning will have been manufactured from oil related by-products. And pretty much anything plastic on our Scoobies will have been manufactured from something produced by the oil industry. Even yer burds perfum and the additives in your dinner last night. Even when the power is cut to your home we use a candles which again are made from oil. As are detergents and medicines. Next time your play a CD in your chariot you can also pay homage to the numerous SIDC members who work in the oil game.... Having said that I still hate paying over a pound for a litre of motion lotion !
  7. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/6655853.stm ...........part of the reason your fuel is costing so much at present. Yes the government can be blamed in some respects but supply and demand govern the while process ultimately. Same with gas prices - a mild winter has lead to a fall in domestic gas prices ( when they suppliers actually pass it on !) I filled up with V-power on the Ring trip in various parts of Holland and Germany and fuel was more or less the same price ... The price is not so good at present but there are sooooo many reasons as to why the price fluctuates CGS
  8. in 24 months I'll have sold non-essential organs for one of these http://z8.invisionfree.com/Northloop/index...pic=4417&hl= but I'd settle for your chariot any day Cheers Cal
  9. Man I love those rims ...........reminds me of the clean looking US cars that you see on NASIOC..... I think the low spoiler looks pimp daddy ......I like the big STi spoilers too but sometimes less is more (IMHO) Power-wise , be content with what its making just now. You'll only end up spoiling it and besides I'll buy it off you in a couple of years [Y] Enjoy ya lucky dawg ! Cal p.s did I mention that I love those rims !!

  11. It was good enough fun going with 2 Evo's and an Aprilia............I cannot begin to imagine how much fun it would be going with a full Scooby squadron ! Any pics of the bash ? CGS
  12. What figures did your chariot make Craig ? PM if required..... I got 304.5 bhp @ 7067 rpm & 217 ft lbs @ 4903 rpm CGS
  13. I forgot about the WRX FMIC - Kev charge temps should be lower too..... CGS
  14. edit :- Russell posted literally seconds before me and wrapped up in 3 lines ! It's a valid point Macca and one that did occur to me..... I have a Sports Cat and he is decatted but other than that I can see no real explanation. No two cars are the same though. If you click on my link below you can see my full spec.... There are a few cars that produce keen figures out the box - St3ph3ns and Phil W's to name two .......so I suppose by the time you mod them they still have that inherent edge on them.... At the end of the day and I am still a happy man as the Andy's map is a good un' in terms of a healthy set up and I am achieving target boost. Maybe Andy F can add his experiences as he'll have seen these situations before..... I have 18's and he has 17's - it should not make a difference as the rolling circumference should be the same but weirder things have happened ! Now itching to get onto Knockhill and deploy these ponies - standard Exiges should be easier on the straights now whereas before I was neck and neck with them. But like yourself, babies now come into the equation and will sap the old finances so I think I'll try and preserve my new-ish Ferodo's and Toyo's ! Cheers Cal
  15. Now that is rather special ..........top notch sir ! Cal
  16. Posting for the newbies, if I had known in Jan 2005 what I now know I would have jumped to stage 4 .......but that's modding for you [<)] Stage 0 - no mods and 215 bhp from the factory Stage 1 - the usual attempts to let her breathe and free up some burble Factory Map + K&N panel filter, WR Sport backbox, ScoobySport decat link pipe and unsilenced centre section. Horrible standard WRX downpipe & up-pipe cat still in-situ.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Stage 2 - a remap to see what gains can be realised from Doctor F Andy Forrest Map + the above ( measily 1.1 bar due to EGT / cat restrictions) Stage 3 - more serious tweaks in pursuit of more boost & ponies Revised Andy Forrest Map + ScoobySport Backbox mated to to complete turbo back TSL Thundercat system ( high flow 100 cell cat) + decat H&S up-pipe + ported turbo ( though still a standard TD04). Hitting 1.2 bar of boost. ( edit - the middle line should read 230 ft.lb's ) Nice quick spool up with torque flooding in early & strong Latest Update ( after dyno run at Wallace today) Stage 4 - Now with a ported VF35 turbo and Walbro 255 fuel pump Spools up slightly later than the TD04 but she now sings right up the rev range......phenomenal for overtaking ..... Now I have hit 300+ bhp I will be hanging up my modding boots and pimping out prams instead ! Thanks to Wuz and Russ @ Wallace ..............two top blokes [Y] Cheers Cal

  21. Planned Budget :- Fuel to Glasgow 143 £30.00 Fuel to Newcastle 160 £30.00 Fuel to Nurburg 230 £50.00 On track 1 tank £60.00 Mileage 1066 miles Return IJMuiden 230 £50.00 Glasgow 160 £30.00 Aberdeen 143 £30.00 Petrol Total £280 Hotel 160 Euro £55.00 Fraser pays half (£110) 5 laps 5 * 13 Euro £55.00 Ferry Meal x 2 £40.00 Lunch x 3 £30.00 Dinner x 3 £50.00 Beer £50.00 Souvenirs £20.00 Total £580.00 In the end I spent nearer £480..............the above was my planned budget Plus the Ferry @ £318 for two bodies in a cabin with a sea view Plus new tyres, pads, discs, turbo and a remap [] ( you should not go over there with dodgy tyres are pads with less then 75% on them) I did 7 laps in the end ( and did not get ratted so the beer fund was nearer £30) You an also go from Rosyth to Zeebrugge but Donald and Gav took over 6 hours to get to Nurburg after a nightmare drive through Belgium We did IJMuiden to Nurburg in 3 hours 15 mins or so Hope this helps Cal
