  1. hi mate, welcome to the club... may of seen you about then ... used to live in point clear then moved to little oakley in 2006,. i use andy too...he uses me .. see if he'll answer this question.... what the fook is he doing with the blue vw transporter of mine sitting there since june? .. he'll understand. anyway nice motor matey, keep your eye out for a classic green wagon with large top spoiler and super leggeras, it could be me.... with a face like a bull dog chewing a wasp. mark
  2. mmm!, nice motors,... wish they'd do somthing like that around here, there's enough bl00dy scoobs who's garden was it in then great piccies though, good examples. mark
  3. yeh agree with stu, sounds like crank seal, it'll blow oil all underside and smoke a bit when it hits the exhaust. and yes worth doing belt and pump, save you a couple of hundred quid or more if you need them after,...i did it, i think the pump is essential imho, and the belt gives you another few year before you change it again, oh yes, as mentioned ... not bullet proof motors.. but will do you proud if you treat it with respect, go no faster at 7k than 5500k...but saves your engine... i've only been up to 6k once in last month but still get the wheels spinning
  4. just remembered.....this is what i did to my vents so that rules that one out then...
  5. oh blast!!!....you mean they make these things ... thought i was different useing a cheap bit and grinding half the ash tray off ...i don't use the radio much spose thats why i put it there...i'm a bit paranoid too where i park it and hoodies want a closer look .... can't see this walking passed. are you getting the clip you mentioned?....stick some piccies up if you do (if you got the commander i spose would be handy ) i'll try anything.
  6. I keep reading queries on where peeps are putting ther apexi commanders, it's a problem and don't want it standing out like a sore thumb eh!...and what with the cable, so being as i have a few bits and bobs for phones, i found a small adjustable holder, had to adapt it a bit the get a good fixing, then where to put it!..i looked at the ash tray..i don't smoke so out it came and in to the shed.. i took off the round handle type bit..and smoothed off, attached my holder and fixed back in the car... i then tucked the cable along the centre consul out of site, and this is what i got......just an idea for those scratcing heads mark
  7. yes Andy, fair comment, and to be honest i thought as they were at the time a couple of year ago 'recomended' by sidc as such there was a discount, your right ..i didn't get asked for my number, and they are brokers?... i didn't argue as the were cheaper than my last insurers (AA)... maybe it's about time they did something for the club?...i'm not knocking them, but you are right again, they have got alot of business from here, i know your not having a go mate, i could bite back but i see the fustration in the text so no probs, whats the point when theres other things to think about i understand
  8. aw i touched something there........... i didn't mention anything about discounts....just nice for them to know where they got recomended. i shall get back under my rock and never mention sidc
  9. gary moulson @ keith michaels.....02082880275 02086427868 08450138231 i think the last one is his direct line, but just ask for gary anyway... and tell him SIDC!!! i shall edit if i find out the direct no
  10. tell me about it,...since i've had the apexi & commander i'm continuesly looking at the knock readings, ect... and the gauges.. religously keep it below 3k untill temp start going up 85-95 is about the norm in mine..only on the higher value on motorway type roads cough cough
  11. all the best mate, we never met but we're all very familar on here enough to wish you luck at least!... i know what you mean about running cost..i dread using to scoob now, ..considered getting a diesel.. in last couple of weeks, things are changing and getting hard.. good luck mark
  12. yep all the best for the new year...... things may change this year
  13. strange,...i had nice red flaps...........from a wagon on to a wagon but when they argued with the curb and the bumper got involved i gave them to me mate and they went straight on to his saloon... i can't see any reason why they won't fit the same iain...did you sort out your clear indicators?.....just found my old ones ... replaced with crystals
  14. yep get every day, the little chavs just love to get in the boot and sneer at you, this is where a flame kit come in handy, i had flames before without and they do keep the distance...the huge bangs were enough anyway,...but 90% of scoob drivers will acknowledge you, sometimes you'll find you'll wait for each other !!.. kids love scoobys, old people don't seem to, you'd be supprised what the oap's will do to to get on yer teets. there is always someone wanting to drive faster than you........you drive how you want...i risk nothing. welcome to the club and scoobyship
  15. could also activate the number plates so they flip when you fly past speed cameras flame kit yes ..good-un
  16. strange one, i had the theory that it was a home made second stage boost selecter, do you know if the ecu is chipped?....but the earth wire is a puzzle, best thing to do is lift out the passenger side carpet and see if the wires (should be two) go into the ecu (located under the foot plate, you can unscrew this no problem and expose the casing of the ecu).... all the switch will do is activate the J1 resister or not, thus giving you the standard map or when switched this cuts out the circuit through the J1 resister and has to use the chip for a more potent map,..........long shot i know.. or it could be nos had another thought, ..... could be a crewd immobiliser switch... and didn't work, i used to do the same thing with old fords, from the coil earth to cut it from starting up, but scoobs are a bit different!!!
  17. hi mate welcome to the club as for first question ...don't know... ... exhaust...depends how loud you want, defo go with de-cat centre and decent back box, keep it stealth with 3.5 and comfortable noise levels, or go 4.5 jap style for a bit more roar and head turning kind of raw noise, i use a TSL 4" gpN box which is middle the road. if you go for full de-cat then i'd get a re-map to benifit, but if theres any other little bits you want done then do them first, ie: injectors, filter/induction, intercooler,... but i would defo get a walbro fuel pump, i did the oil pump too (roger clark uprated) then get yer re-map... you may have the ecutek ?..www.ecutek.com (so you don't have to change the ecu) mine is older so i had to ge an apexi, supplied and mapped for less than £750, uk wagon, bits and bobs, my96...311bhp mark
  18. OH yes the forum name is a givaway that your a lady....sorry i was jibbering away like it was a bloke.....scooz the lack of etiquate ....where do you come from?... and a piccy of the car would be nice mark
