  1. yeh, didn't think i'd ever get a saloon but weighing things up it works out, anyway it's here now had to rescue him from harwich sea front as sat nav stressed out, sounds sweet, very very low and can see an oil leak .... check it tomorrow the only piccie got at mo is the one from advert,
  2. i believe it's behind the alternator, one wire?......... it's been a while sorry!!!
  3. yeh a bit of bad luck matey,... will the sti box match your diff?
  4. went to view that scoob today, put a deposit down, so i'll phone you to sort that insurance out went it's on me drive ready, it's being delivered got to hide my credit card now,
  5. well i lasted 14 months without one and if it weren't for the mortgage coming down i wouldn't of bothered, so i'll enjoy it while it lasts anyway, nothing spectacular.... my94 silver wrx, approx 70000 on it, saloon!.. i'm keeping me tddi focus for work ect... and scoob for play. and the dog can't go in the scoob coz he's a figit. not the perfect car by no means, need a front bumper as the after market one is split and not my taste, only under bonnet mods.. dump valve!.. had head gaskets, cambelt and clutch done recently, no decat!!.... but a 3" cat back system which i may take off, the best bits are.... cusco coilovers with camber adjustment, and cusco lower 4 point brace, sits very low and solid. has a few usaul dings but really not that bad, quite clean for age. hoping to get money sorted tomorrow and he will drop it off in evening..........happy days i'll get piccies up as soon as.... coz i've missed being on here showing off mark.
  6. yep, phoned him today for a quote...for a second car and sorted me out good man that gary
  7. you ol devil!!.... funny enough.. just put a holding deposit on an early wrx .... should get it friday evening ...couldn't resist
  8. been here the weekend, nice very clean classic 4 door, V5* ***.... sounds nice with that shiney box, you have been parked on the grass on the corner, 'SIDC' sticker in rear window
  9. firstly HI!!! welcome to the club ... full membership gives you lots of discounts for one, there is a list in the 'true grip' mag you'll get, you'll be supprised what who and where you get a discount. when you sign up for full membership you get a nice pack through the post with some goodies, and i think it's quarterly true grip subcription, as you may tell i'm not paid up full member at mo, i've let it go slack coz my scoobie was sold last year,...... but i'll never forget about this bunch!! well worth it, and when i DO get another scoob i'll sign up again...to get me mag! it's a very good read. there will be an expert along soon to point you in right direction. well done for getting a scoobie, you will never regret buying it..... although watch the petrol lol.... mark.
  10. yeh i got a focus too !.. tddi estate, not the same really, but 55 mpg is a godsend,. tried making it look diferent with minor touches but doesn't 'do' anything, which ever way i look at any subaru the petrol cost don't vary much so might as well go for the turbo need that burble! i'm also worried i might get that modding buz again.... got to resist. can't afford it. have promised not to get in debt again. ... but why should we be unhappy when life is so short ? there must be a way somehow lol!! anyway we're not too bad matey, you? ..... lost me dad last october so seeing things kinda different these days, and can't get him out my mind, so i've said we need to get on with life, and not to wait for better things in the future as they may not come. hence looking for a scoob my goal in the near future is a family, when me julie is better we are going to try for a baby and i can't wait, i'd be so proud did you have an evo at one stage?... i can't remember too much :S lol
  11. hi matey, same here, without a scoob so don't get on here much and it seems alot of the regulars are not about. bring back the good ol days eh!!! been looking at another wagon, but the petrol is scareing me lol!... glad to see an old name back anyway mark
  12. see this few month back, but awsome yes typicaly usa, have a look at how many takes that was, not one shot but many then edited, the same as the first one, (he nearly rips the bumper off in the first one and the next shot was as good as gold) he drives like my mum. ...
  13. thanks for that matey, the mpg was about what i thought, i live a B road and for a good ten mins into work it's very easy to stick your foot down, my old wagon loved it,.. but costing nearly a tenner everyday doing 30 mile,... i tried going sensible but with the power and that burble ...it's gotta go flat out !! .. this is my problem if i got a fozzy, i can't stay sensible and standard, spent 10k on me wagon and miss it like hell. think i'dhave to get 18's on it or at least 17" and lowered suspension, but i won't stop, decat and nice back box for the burble,
  14. if i remember rightly the 8s is out of a wrx, all pre face lift ecu's are 4 plug and anyone should fit although must remember the car's set up. the 75 doesn't ring a bell but if any that is a 3 plug. my old uk wagon had a 7d (208bhp aprox 11.47 psi and 95ron fuel0 ...fitted a chip and raised boost and power, then i had a board out of an sti with made it go like stink, but uk cars didn't have balanced internals and didn't agree with the high revving and potent map .... the rest is history !!.. what model you got matey, ?? if you could try and get a z4 / z5 ecu, straight in and about the nearest map to ppp you can bolt on. mark
  15. and before i get shot down!!!!..... i know it's an impreza car club for those quick shots out there back in me day.. there were a few forester owners on here .. just wondering how you rate these as an everyday motor, thinking of getting one rather than an impreza, can't go back to the classic wagon route as it kills me from when i sold mine last year so something different me thinks, nothing flash as i'm still counting pennies, 2000 's' turbo ... looking at mpg and overall drivability, anyone? i know someone is out there would really like to get back to scooby ownership, my old tddi focus just isn't with it. but can't knock it, 55mpg and keeps going on and on.. mark.
  16. wasn't bob the builder in his diesel astra van was it lol defo sounds like a monaro, quite a car, did you get to hear it?.... nice v8 ?
  17. lol...yeh my old my96 wagon 311bhp,..... 19 at best, done 1/4 tank on 26 mile once going to work on a back road....your 20mpg don't sound too bad matey.... got a tddi focus now and get 550 to a tank lol.... but take 4 times longer too
  18. don't do what i did.... sold it and have cried everyday since... well not litraly but you know ..... we were quite prepared to use our wagon for the family eventualy but money probs saw that i couldn't afford the fuel bill, that was it, everything else is the same price as my current tddi focus, tax, insurance, servicing,... difference is the 550 miles to a tank rather than 200 . but it was cheaper to fill the scoob than the focus, ... i am gagging to get another scooby but daren't just yet, and yes they are a soooped up standard family car, with many security and safety features, infact .. my focus doesn't have a patch on the scoob, i actualy feel unsafe at the mo. :S
  19. lol,.. yep can't wait, and might get to work quicker too! you know the legacy gtb are 280bhp av it
  20. lol 'focus man' yeh it's a bit boring and at times i hide my face but 55mpg at the mo ... tarted it up a bit to, dropped it 40mm ST front end, just sold me 18's and gone for 17"superleggeras .... kind of satisfies me for a bit, and like you mate, don't get on here much now, i look everyday but alot of the names have gone...as for my next scoob....... looking at a twin turbo legacy ...estate GTB .. bit different, want a face lift version for the looks, but older one would do,... lowered of course !!! and 17's a must.... i could of got a impreza the same as me old one last week, but stuttered as i ain't got the cash without borrowing at mo..he would of swapped the focus but i want to keep it incase mortgage goes up again, glad you still about old friend, take it easy and good luck!!! mark
  21. hello matey, how the hell are ya? can't help you with your questions mate but thought i'd pop in and say hello lol!!!... still got a scoob then, i still driving the bl00dy focus...... but working on it ...can't be this boring for ever.. good luck mark
  22. i can only see this reduction in the limit in causing more accidents,....it's frikin stupid. journey times will be longer, yeh good for the environment eh mr brown, more congestion, more bloody road rage,.. more petrol,....oh!!!! get your heads out your frigin ar5e and see the way it is,......if the goverment could slow the world spinning to make more money but cause global mayhem....they would....... i'm still gonna drive the same .... it'll be safer. maybe they should bring out a minimum speed? everyone will get along nicely no probs. got to go....got steam coming out me ears
  23. used to get no more than 19mpg, ... rarely see 200 to a tank, more like 180 as an average, driving on b roads, and towns.......once done quarter of a tank going to work and back....28 mile hence the reason i had to put my rising mortgage first and sell me car....... still pining for it 9 month later
