  1. ....anyway... i'd stick to the good stuff, v power, for the sake of a couple of quid more you do get more to the gallon, and it'll take a tank full to get used to it,
  2. cel....... slowly getting her right,

  3. cel....... slowly getting her right,

  4. Z4 is a good ecu, not mappable though, they are very similar in maps to a prodrive ecu. but if your modding and £10 says you will ... then ... at least go for yellow injectors too, 440cc is plenty for 300 bhp my old uk wagon when fitted 440's, front mount intercooler, k&n induction, walbro fuel pump, full de-cat, uprated up-pipe, and then mapped with apexi fc & commander... got 311bhp on a 'rough' map... 271 lbft torque, was later remapped again in germany by it's new owner and was just told it is a lot better...... to cope with extra bhp..i fitted an uprated roger clarke oil pump, uprated clutch, 4 pots<<<< brakes come first though dude!!!. mate after this and various suspension set ups and gadgets..dials ect..ect... i got no change out of 10k over the 4 years i had her!!!!!.....LOVE IT
  5. cheers neil, prefer your shape actualy, yes that bit of info helped too, got to do some homework and think about it, was going to spend another 2k on getting a audi a4, so thought i'd have something a bit more fun in a scoob of some kind.
  6. cheers mate, if i knew i could 35 constant then might think about it, the forester is £100 cheaper on insurance a year, but tax would be a bit higher too, i miss me old scoob but couldn't keep up with the fuel prices, defo thinking about the forester though i'll try and get a piccie up to get oppinions too.
  7. Hi all, been a while since i've been on here, sold me wrx last september, driving a diesel focus estate now!..... but i'm toying with a forester turbo s, has ppp, and 208 bhp, my99 T... just trying to weigh up the statistics, how much ££ to fill her up, how many miles to a tank, what mpg, i've had 2 scoobs and got from 19 to 33 mpg from both on average, my focus does 45mpg!... so just wanting to see how many more pennies it'll cost me cheers, mark.
  8. hey, long time no see, ain't been on here for yonks, good to see some old names. hope your ok mate. mark

  12. welcome mate, been a while since i looked on general!!.... but yep ditto mate best choice and sensible too.. you will love it, i had a uk wagon for 4 years..spent 10k on it then sold it... lasted just over a year and then bougt a classic wrx.... started spending already!!...long story! but yep i love it, i find the new age scoobs don't wave as much but maybe because they may think diferent of me??? i'm no chav...37 yr old hard working easy going chappy....an enthusiast with a tatty car ) proud and happy to own a scoob, and belong to a freindly club... where you from the mate?...... mark
  13. i was coming home from harlow about 6:45 on the A12 colchester bound, as i was approuching the A120 turn off i see a dark blue classic coming up,... then as i addmired it going up the slip way...... realised thats where i should of been !!!! ... yes i felt like a pillok, turned off at dedham and went through the bumpy lanes to harwich
  14. i had a my96, and it had the coils on the plugs, think it was late 96 they changed, first the pack was to one side, then sure they changed again to the centre with a diferent inlet........ not sure on dates, but i know a man who does..
  15. yeh ..strange dates, your 3 plug is facelift onwards, i think 97> someone will correct me, but the <96 are 4 plug ecu's, so it'll be the later one. quite pricey now those apexi's, but worth it.
  16. thats a very nice set of wings yes...... are those blades all the same as in rotation?.... looks like one goes one way and the other does the opposite..... as such
  17. cheers boys, i really didn't realise how easy it is to go down that quick, leason learnt, may just pop in to doctors tomorrow to make sure, i've got to see about my hernia anyway....bloody hurting .. feel a bit lost without me car .....got a battered ford ranger from work, just noticed.... -4 laying in the snow... ... and touching metal lol..... ouch
  18. as mentiond in technical my engine gave up on way to work at 8am, sat there over an hour waiting for AA, with just a fleece on by the time we got the car to a garage, and i got a lift to work it was 2 1/2 hours, i then out the blue went in to a state, uncontrollable shivering /shaking, blindness, couldn't talk, couldn't walk, couldn't pour myself a hot drink properly, and very very sleepy, i actualy drifted of a few times. i got to the point where i stopped shaking, my legs, hips, shins were in so much pain,... my face had swollen, and turned blue.....this i didn't realise was entering the third stage of hypothermia, ..... i managed to phone my other half, told her what was going on, tried eating to get some energy, come round a bit and then i managed to get in to the site truck and carfully drove home, warned her that i'm needing to get straight in to a hot bed, ...... done so and laid there for 6 hours before i had the energy to get up, still feel woosey, like i've had a few pints, i never feel the cold, worked in it for 20years........ this totaly changed my attitude about not being prepared,. BE PREPARED!!!!..... THIS ONLY TWO AND A HALF HOURS IN THE COLD, ALL BE IT BELOW FREEZING ADMITTINGLY. VERY SCAREY.......VERY LUCKY. MARK.
  19. lol...yeh karma comes to mind, in 19 years of driving i've never come accross a fallen tree in front of me like that!!..... i think if it weren't for the fact the very bumpy road on these coilovers i would of gone a bit faster, could of been different,....or getting stuck behind someone a few miles back!.... makes you think. i'm defo doing lottery now, and my focus got taken away today at long last, poor ol girl sitting in scrapyard now ready for crushing mark
  20. 4 weeks after haveing our focus wrote off by the dumbar5e drink driver, (which they have just additted responsibility ) we left out home in ramsey nice and sunny , no wind, 30 minute journey back to point clear to the rented house and julies caravan, 2 mile to go and turned black, the rain fell so heavy, 15-20mph wipers on double, wind was horendous!!... we got around this bend with a car 30-40ft in front... and a tree just fell so quick across the road just clipped the rear of the other car.... and in front of us.. !!! thought, what the hell is going on!!!.... i pulled back a bit and got out, soaked through in a nice cream jacket, jeans..... i started to pull the tree apart!!!!... another guy started to help, and after going on my ar5e twice and caked in mud and green stuff... we pulled the tree over to make room for one car ..... got through and on our way 2 secs sooner and it would of landed on the car.... what luck would that of been?! wouldn't of crushed it coz the tree was dead but defo make some annoying dents i think.. still hear though
  21. since i got me my94 wrx in sept, i used v power, twice i used BP though, always as ever runs sweet as a nut on v power, and 260 miles to a tank...... bp not smooth, and 240 miles to a tank.......filled right up with tesco the other day, first thing i notice was lack of power, a diferent tone to the engine, uneven idle,.... 4 p cheaper than shell but i think i'll prefer the v power after this tank.. hope that confuses you. mark
