  1. Contact Duncan at Hypertech, and he can give several options including an EcuTek remap
  2. I guess you'll be asking for a price soon then Neil? I still prefer Goodyear's and don't really like Bridgestone's (I find there sidewalls far too stiff), but am now a supplying agent for Toyo, so let me know what you decide. As for Nitrogen in the Aerospace and Motorsport Industries, it has nothing to do with longevity or pressure retention, it has more to do with the fact that Nitrogen is almost immune to pressure changes related to heat (and lack of it in certain situations). Both tyres on Aeroplanes and racing cars can generate absurd amounts of heat and dramatically change the pressure in the tyres, creating the risk of a tyre exploding or in teh case of motorsport, can give a more consistent tyre throughout the race. On, BTW, Richie, did you ever get to the bottom of the charging/ECU problem?
  3. Nice clip Baz. I couldn't get the sound but watched the video. It's funny how he managed to look quite good in the Group N, but looked quite stilted (if that's a word that suits) in the Group A and WRC cars. It just shows how talented works drivers are to make these cars look as good as they did. It's also the reason that WRC is starting to bore me - I yearn for the early days of WRC cars (late 90's and early noughties) when WRC was awesome, with many different driver's that could win and mad F2 cars that could scare WRC cars on dry tarmac.
  4. Sounds like it unless it is just in certain gears - then it could be the synchros in the box. Just don't use the car too much and damage the box.
  5. I guess I won't be getting the honour of getting to MOT it again. It was always a car that I would be offering you ridiculous money for if my numbers had come up. Remember all the fun you had in it, and try to forget how you lost it. It may not be a Scoob, but I know that you will own another special car one day.
  6. What are you looking to have done Dan?
  7. Stupid question, but why not import that rather stunning example of a STi of yours over here, and save the grief of getting rid of yours and getting one here - that's what I would do.
  8. The ability for a paddle clutch to take a lot more power (actually torque) than an organic one - the downside is a very sharp biting point, quite often a shudder on engaging, and the shortening of driveline components working life - especially marking the flywheel. You only get what you pay for in the clutch world.
  9. I only talk so much to you Graeme because I mix you up with Diesel Hands, and I only get a word in with him when he stops for breath - know what I mean (Sorry Neil, I couldn't resist). And yes I do work for a few folk on here - G.Mac, Jimser, Terzo Neil, Welsho, Imy, Squiggle - just most of the miserable folk really
  10. I'm missing the "know what I mean" banter. I see you are the closest thing to a superstar on the SIDC of late - I take it you are trying to make up for all those years of banging on about Diesels
  11. Did he just teach for 30 mins or stay for 30 mins, because if it was the latter, he really doesn't like you!
  12. An MOT is usually based on an "as it was tested on the day" basis, except for corrosion, which has a 30 day comeback. So get on to VOSA, and get it reported.
  13. Phone Euro Car Parts on 0141 331 0332, and see how much they quote you for 2 OE fitment Kayaba's - should be around £100 each. Get them fitted by an independant fitter (cough, cough) and you are sorted.
  14. Quite happily bought show plates before, but I do keep it subtle, like Subaru stars in the background, with a Saltire for the flag and the name of the car in small letters below - nothing outlandish to warrant a stop by the police. But that said, I don't have a mad sticker kit or a crazy loud exhaust to give them extra reason to look at me twice.
  15. Looking at the rear lines, I thought more Hyundai Accent WRC car.
  16. You know he doesn't want to do that Grant, with expenditure of that amount would drop him to the world's second richest man!
  17. The KW's that I had on my RS were absolutely brilliant, and had been fitted secondhand, and are now on Big Neil's Terzo now, so we'll see how long they last. Teins have gone right down in my estimation, if I were going for something, it would be KW's, Bilstein or Koni (or Ohlins when 5 numbers and 2 bonus balls come up)
  18. Geez, I fit K Sports to both Bobby's and Neil's car, and they are both raving about them. Got to admit, they do brake well, although the banjo bolts and washers in the K Sport kits aren't the highest quality. Jimser has the Alcon's on his classic, and was complaining at the lack of feel from them at first, although I don't know if they have improved at all.
  19. If you want to find the price of shockers, look up Euro Car Parts or get them on 0141 331 0332, they sell KYB shockers, and IIRC, are about 90quid a corner
  20. I know it's not quite the same, but I have VF23 from a V3 sti for sale if you are interested
  21. Yet again, keeping the heat in will keep the unit operating better and reduce lag. Turbos are designed to run at ridiculously high temps. The big thing that will reduce life is poor quality oil, that's the big thing to watch for on turbos (and the obvious switching off right after a run)
  22. I think you'll find folks, that people with a lot of moeny get full exhausts done because hot air travels faster and easier than air that is cooling, so exits the exhaust quicker, and and causes less back pressure. The only thing to note, is that doing it with heatwrap is pretty pointless after the downpipe, because in no time at all, the wrap gets soaked from the road, and perishes.
  23. Glad they are working as they are meant to be Bobby. That is one very nicely modified car you have there, I've never seen a GB340 before now
  24. Wuz, I'm quite sure that Patsy was referring to the upgraded pipe on the WRX when fitted with the PPP, that has been quite correctly quoted as being changed to a blue silicone unit, rather than the standard black hard plastic unit. Possibly Patsy didn't notice the part about it being a STI, and not just a WRX. And TBH, if I was looking at 2 cars, of similar price, and one had a PPP, then I know what I'd put my money on first. Mike, all cars are listed as PLG - Private or Light Goods - it's the exhaust emissions that decide what tax bracket, and IIRC, if not stated, then DVLA will base it upon a UK based car or put it in the highest category.
  25. Lucky B'stad, not many can get away with that!
