  9. Ha ha I know the feeling. Speaking to Duncan yesterday, he was recomending an anti lift kit for me next. I am toying with the idea of puting a bigger turbo in as soon as finances allow.........I said I wasn't going to do anything to this one as well!!!
  10. I have a 51 Bugeye WRX which has a full Hayward and Scott turbo back decat (sounds goooood ), free flow filter upgraded intercooler y piece uprated fuel pump and a Andy Forrest remap (all done before I got the car), Andy Forrest reckoned it was about 280bhp/280 torque when it was mapped. It drives and pulls really well. To be honest I would start with brakes and handling mods first if I was starting from scratch..........but I am an old man!! That said I am looking at upgrading my turbo soon
  11. VERY clean looking bugeye mate...
  12. I wish I had known - I would have dropped in, I will give you a PM before I come up the next time......What have you got in mind for the GB270?
  13. It makes the car feel more rigid and solid when cornering - that's what I think anyway. There may be a more technical explination though
  14. Just over £300 for everything (obviously fitting is free for SIDC members)
  15. Do you work at the coachworks /respray place?
  16. Got some whiteline goodies fitted today by Duncan at HYPERTECH. I had rear drop links, rear anti roll bar and a front strut brace put on my car. Both Duncan and his Dad were full of good advice and answered all my (stupid ) questions. They fitted it all for free as well - great guys. It's the first time I've been up there but it won't be the last. Cheers fellas...... http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e21/scoo...tstrutbrace.jpg http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e21/scoo...roplinkarb1.jpg http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e21/scoo...roplinkarb2.jpg Car seems to feel a lot more planted going round corners now
  17. Is anyone else leaving from Lanark but not going all the way down? Due to work I can't go all the way to Banbury but I fancy doing at least the first hundred miles or so - anyone else planning to do the same? I was thinking of maybe taking a more sceanic route back......
  18. Cheers for the offer Jon, although I am liking the bigger turbo idea . I think based on whats been said above I will get it checked out properly. Cheers for info above everyone.........
  19. I noticed at the last stop of the Highland run my car was blowing out blue smoke (from the exhaust) which had the smell of burning oil. Midnight21 followed me back to Perth and she said there was none coming out whilst I was driving. Since then I have driven the car down to Portsmouth and it drives fine but I have noticed that sometimes when I stop either in traffic or at lights that I get some blue smoke with burning oil smell. It's not really thick but it's enough for you to notice blowing around the back end of the car. I've checked oil level and it was a bit high so have drained some out but it's still the same. I also checked the air filter in case it was blocked and drawing air from the crank case but that was fine also. I have done searches on the net and they all seem to be pointing towards turbo oil seals or PCV valve. Has anyone had a similar snag or has anyone got any other ideas? As i said earlier it only happens sometimes when I stop but don't want ignore it if I can sort the problem early. C'mon techies - any advice ideas welcome.................. (the car as a de-catted exhaust and has been remapped by the way)
