Cheers for the replies. I am in no rush to get the calipers dried as the wheels will be away for a few days. White RA - The pic of the hammerite one look good - have you had any snags with flaking / cracking due to the heat? (Mine shouldn't get too hot as I drive like an old woman!! )

I am having my wheels off to get refurbished and while they are off I intend stripping my brake calipers back to a sound surface then repainting them. Do I need special paint or will Hammerite do the job? If special paint is required does anyone have any recomendations/ones to avoid. I will be repainting them red, if that makes any difference....

Glad you're happy with it, I have mine booked in for some new whiteline front and rear droplinks and a rear anti role bar as well. I thought I would bite the bullet and get it done after some of things that have been posted in this forum about the whole set up, I am due to pick up a front strut brace at the same time. Just in time for the "dry" Summer twisty roads..........

Scott They are good down there I used them since I bought the car car new and they fitted the PPP to it. I haven't had a snags with them at all. Give me a bell when you get it back and let me know how you got on and I will drop in when I get back up the road.

I am happy with it at the moment mate, the person I got it from done some quality mods to it before selling it. Maybe just some cosmetic mods......................oh no it's started again!

At last.......finally back behind the wheel of a scooby again (can't say I will miss my wifes Fiat Punto!) I picked my car up at the weekend from Jon (JCscoob) and nicky - no jokes about newages being for girls please!! I am well pleased with it, what a difference from my old WRX PPP. Just in time for summer and a few months of work

How are you doing Scott? That didn't take long for you to get the modding bug (if you don't count the first 40 years!). I agree with DRB5 above. Before I sold the car to you the two things I had in mind was to upgrade the brakes, just the discs and pads initially to improve on the pretty poor standard brakes. The other thing I had in mind was to fit a dump valve - I just love the sound! Looking at your avatar, as long as you don't fit loads of mirrors to the front like you did with your Vespa when we were wee you should be alright!!!

I feel your pain!! It happened to me just before christmas last year, same story - no CCTV footage. I always park in the parent and toddler spaces now (I have got a toddler - before any one rants about that!!)
