  1. Sheep, Thanks for keeping every1 upto date on the days events. However the owner of the scoob might not appreciate a pic of his mota being posted complete with number plates ? I`d take down the pic ed the plate then repost buddy Pete
  2. Phil, Mail me details on the flag specs & prices buddy and I`ll talk to a few of the dealers that have sponsored stuff in the past for us. I`m sure I`ll get a few on-board RE use of the flags I`d suggest they are held by the RO`s, I know it`s ANOTHER thing for us to do but ithat way there is at least a degree of control over when and where their use is appropriate. Zeo, dunno if u remember it or not but last year when i picked up the Banzai magazine "Best scooby" trophy at crail I did mention the SIDC in the writeup for the mag (good publicity for the club as it highlighted the standard of cars in the club) also when I was interviewed for Rev Bobs Torque show, again from memory I mentioned the club before I kicked that BMW`s butt on the strip for the TV crew (again good publicity for the club). OK the lads and myself tend not to goto Crail as often as we used to due to inflated prices amongst other reasons but when we do, it`s in an orderly, organised manner as would be expected by any RO`s or members organising events. So IMHO if there`s an event to be attended by a number of club members then the RO for the area the event is in should be able to determine if displaying the flag/s would be appropriate. BTW gals good thinks on the clobber L8r Pete
  3. Oi!! Ambulance driver, less of the swearing It`s where all the mods get 2gether n kiss each others butts, n when they ignore the membership the members tell em 2 blow it outta their butts,. The membership then proceed to leave and impove on something thats been running for years to turn it into something great.
  4. Colin, First up, welcome to the place to be Next up, on the mapping there are a number of mappers in Scotland for various systems most of which are listed by Grant (with the exception of the possum link). The most appropriate system for you depends on a number of factors like what the car is to be used for, what features are required and most importantly budget available. Geographically Andy is the closest to you, the next nearest is Sam. Both tend to specialise in differing systems. I haven`t been keeping up to date with Andy recently but I believe he`s producing good results with the power fc (I really need to give him a call and catch up) I have been keeping in touch with Sam though who is an authorised dealer for Motec, Autronics, Gems and Possum Link. Recently he`s been abroad a lot mapping for race teams and as such quite difficult to contact, but he can be contacted. If try to contact him without any luck, drop me a mail with contact details and I`ll pass them onto him for you. Hey contact them both, what is there to lose. Pete
  5. Mikey, Like Doug says there are some stick on kits available. The one thing I will say here though is that I know of various member / ex-members who had used a variety of these and ended up going for the sprayed option after the stickers came off. Don`t take that as purely the fault of the kit, possibly incorrect preperation could have contributed. I`m only advising on past experiences I have corrected for friends. I have pods as per the top pic (dash top) and a brand spanking new AVC-r available. The rest of the pic i.e. the trim, personally I`d not waste time and spray it (that is my prefered option) what i wwill say though is once its done reversing it is not an easy task if you change your mind or get bored of it. So as you can see both options have downsides. But yeah if thats what you want to do by all means email me, as I dont want to be accused of turning this thread into an advert. Cheers Pete
  6. There`s a wee lesson to be learnt by all here though. Luckily Daz has been dealing with an honest individual who is sorting the problem out. This could have turned out ugly and messy, as in my experience of dealing with banks once they have cleared a cheque and funds have been paid into your account, they cannot remove the funds from your account without the account holders authorisation. As this would be classed as theft. They could by all means ask for the account holder to pay the funds back to them, but as the problem was instigated by them clearing the cheque in the first place there are legal implications here. But hey Daz is sorted out, so thats what matters Just remember though beware when buying / selling remotely and remember just because the bank say its so doesn`t necessarely mean it is so. Pete
  7. Dunno WTF all this << recent nonsense >> was or what it was about with bein offline 4 a whilst, but FFS don`t tell me I missed out on a good barny As every1 who knows me knows I love a good barny An yeah c`mon mo fo`s cut the sheet with the group hugs n stuff, thats a wee bit puffy is it no A healthy exchange of views now n then is one of the things that keeps boards interesting. Who remembers the monsta exchanges b 4 the mass exodus from scoobynet The Scottish scoob scene roks an thats the word on the street
  8. Hey Nyloc, word up mo fo ? The scoobymods number (07939 416007) is still good m8ty, u know the rule on mobiles in the work though so i only check it once a day. I`m thinkin jnow that it`d make sense to make the next meet on 26th of this month to coincide with the national day up in Alford. Precise details of meet times / points to follow nearer the time. Lets ave a few more of the new faces present this year though, as well as all the regulars Pete
  9. Mikey, I use a compressor as tins of paint IMHO are only for handyness & not as good as the real mix it yer self deal. My m8 Sandy mixes the paint up for me (he owns a local autobofdy paint supply outlet) Pretty handy as I can get almost any colour and type of paint i want. Pete
  10. Simon, Good info there m8, very similar to the info I received many moons back when I was researching oils for general use & trackdays. Kinda confirms i`m running the right gear. Most folks have personal preferences as to manufacturers i.e. Mobil, Castrol, Valvoline etc, but there`s the facts for all to see. Cheers Simon it`s good 2 hear from peebs in the know. Pete
  11. Thanks lads, Didn`t want to get up there in plenty of time and end up late through getting lost Cheers John I might need it later Pete
  12. Mikey, I make the dash top pods & center vent gauge panel, the console etc was spray prepped with etch primer then hit with 2 pak colour. I then hit them with a coat of laquer for good measure. Straight forward if you have a compressor etc. The A-pillar pod is attached using 2 interior trim screws once it has been properly profiled down to match the A-pillar of the car (this is worth taking time to do properly as illfitting pods really detract from the interior look). If u want any more gen m8 drop me a mail Pete
  13. Hope some of you Aberdeen members can help me out here, I`ve got to be at KCA Deutag, Minto Drive, Altens Industrial Estate early on Wednesday, but I haven`t been in Aberdeen for a whilst so need accurate directions on how to get there comming from Forfar. Can any of you guys help with directions please. Thanks in advance Pete
  14. Coco, How u doin bud ? Its me fella, despite visious rumours i havent fallen off the planet For normal running I use comma synergy, it`s good stuff and it comes in 5 litre packs from memory 5w/ 40 fFr track days I normally run Castrol RS (not the motorsport one though as I found it to thin and makes the engine noisy) Hope this helps ya bud BTW has anybody noticed how small the new oil filters are in comparison to last year and the year before`s ? I`d say they`ve halfed in size in the past 2 years, which is good as it takes less oil to fill but i`d imagine it`ll clog a lot quiker and heat up a lot quicker as well. Pete
  15. Cheers guyz, It`s great to be back Missed the buzz, the banter, an the crack. Actually after the renovation on the house think i`ve seen more than my fair share of cracks Not everyone gets to make their return on-line the same week as there`s a trackday, lovely. Still doin stuff on the house but should be online a lot more often now. If anybod needs help or whatever I`m now based in Forfar but hey its jus up the road from Dundee (11.5 minutes at speed limit) Haven`t completed re-setting up the fibre glassing yet but it`ll come soon, the site WILL be updated soon 2 as i`ve got better software now (jus need to get the other puters set-up). So gizza shout peebs, remember though i`m onpetes personal mail till the other machines r set-up. Hope 2 meet all the new faces soon. L8r folks Pete
  16. LOL yeah I 4got bout avin crush in the back No stamina these younkies. He nearly downloaded wiv u fleggin him. Don`t think he realised we`d just done 700 miles till i dropped him off at his house. Suppose it was a bit of a hike for 1 day. At least somefolk had the sense to drive down the day before.
  17. Back in the days Doug eh How long was it ....... 2 months we had to organise it, an we still got 109 motas to turn up. Yeah buddy them was the dayz, when peebs went to things and were totally up 4 it. Actually was that no the same year we went to THE NBO ? What a larf it was leaving from scotch corner, overtook every other scoob but 1, coz i realised if i overtook them all i didn`t know WTF i was goin Yeah them memories r what its about I`m sure btwn the 2 of us there`s a few belters in the way of stories and all the new faces missed em all m8.
  18. << Aye but they're trained to use indicators that'll give them away as BMW drivers don't use them >> ROFPMSL good point Gee, I didnt think of that
  19. Billy, We`ve had a few of our own already m8 ;o) Not as large scale normally about 100 cars per event. The 1st McBig 1 was at knockhill 2 years ago, then last years was at Alford. This years is at Alford again (in 2 weeks I think) check null Get you`re lads up there this time m8 Pete
  20. That wee smarmy git with the quad would get a boot up the shoot if she was mine Phunny the plod use an unmarked beemer though eh ? They obviously know that its the most hated mota on the road, due to the amount of outside lane hogs that drive them, therefore inducing incidents.
  21. What an absolute twat, obviously not a member. Clocked at 120mph an tried to do a runner, ended up side on`ing a civic in a town cemtre at 64mph they reconed that he wasnt even the owner Its shumucks like that who cause all us law abiding members problems
  22. Yeah another top day John, u da man Oh its good to be back Had a wee mech issue during the second outing, the slip joints on the exhaust headers seperated (hence why she sounded like a V8 when i came into the pits) but fixed it up pretty quick with the help of Wheels Around (top geezer) Good to see loadsa newbies, soz i didn`t get a chance to talk to ya all, was trying out different setups of stuff on the car. (hence the low boost setting) Thankfully though as i smoked the new pads, disks & tyres which I only fitted yesterday Don`t think i was holding anyone up though, but hey if i was soz. st3ph3n hope all the tips helped u out buddy ? Some good pix n vids up, I`ve got a few to edit n post once the editing puters unpacked. If anyone`s got shots or vid of big red (my scoob) any chance of emailing it to me for inclusion on the site? (which i`m overhauling jnow) Did anyone get a shot / vid of my detour on the chicane in the rain (full 720 then back on) the marshal jus shook his head Yeah a great day, gawd i needed that. Hopefully red`ll be shooting all barrels come the next one BTW Alan, I finally fitted the HKS`s on the front, an they`re the puppies m8 L8r doodz Pete 4got 2 say shoulda stayed back to see the motas that were running after us, they super stocks are totally bananas I`ll post up the pix once i`ve edited them.
  23. Billy, What you gotta remember with the scottish scoobs (in general) bud is that if there`s a choice between driving 300 miles to sit your car in a field or drive significantly less miles and get out on track or even spectate, the later will win hands down. Unfortunately the date clashed with KH hence the low turnout for NBO from this end, as a lorge number of the members up here tend to participate in events they can take an active part in, rather than fall into the show n shine brigade. It`s also one hell of a distance jus to sit in a field. OK it gives you the opportunity to meet the peebs we interact with, but its at a huge expence. Myself and quite a few others travelled down to the 1st one in 2003 and the concensus was that almost half of us wouldn`t do it again. Last year i suggested that the venue be changed every year to make the travelling fair on all members, but that idea was chucked out without any real consideration IMHO. So rest assured I for one wont be attending it again unless there`s a signifiicant change in my circumstances. Hey each to their own fella. Hope u all enjoyed it. Pete
