dunno if this is the right place to put this or if it should be in non related topics, but its kind of scooby related but was wondering if people ever thought of a chatroom/free chat room for quick and easy banter or if they needed questions answered straight away with people online rather than messages /posts or private messages , as i noticed my inbox fills up prety quick at near 15 messages . i use a few rooms like that if im doing any online gaming or that just for quickness, and a few different sites where people need things straight away but also a quick way just to have a banter wi folks , whats peoples veiws ?

sounds like fun haha , just costly fun , bonus was i had gap insurance so got the full value of teh car back -
bearing was already like that before the goosed wheel if it is the wheel bearing which if i remember right on previous cars thats what sounded like that was meant to have been changed/fixed before , as for suspension arm dont know if its damaged just wana get it checked after the wheel got hit to cause that level of damage wld rather be safe than sory ,
-
2003 wrx sti type uk blob eye ok just wondering if any of you know how much roughly pricing for a wheel bearing would be , either including fitting or buying on its own other things would be possible suspension arm being slightly bent.. how much to fix or for new one cheap palce to get blue mudflaps , either wrx or sti logo or sumthing similar blue wheel bolts/nuts ? price or place to find them dont think suspension are is bent but possibley could be gonna take it up to sw motorsport and get them to fix, but lettin evans look at it first just incase it is , but get sw motors to fix if it is and il give evans the bill. ?

lol remember a similar experience powersliding / trying too in my modded 1.2 corsa back in my youth on a long uphill right bend in the rain, result was me sliding off the road and smashing into a wall at 50mph , result my car was about 3 - 4 foot shorter in the front, and the front of the car started at the windsheild complete rite off, wasnt even a mark left on the wall didnt help that behind the wall the ground level was about 3 qauters of the way up it so was prety solid , think hitting a tank would have been softer, tell you what though one of the best adrenalin rushes ive had like , especialy as no one was injured , only thing thats probably been better was being a passenger and having one of the knockhill instructors think its the guy whos a touring racer driving me round knockhill at high speed all the while looking at me in the face and chatin away barely looking where hes going crazy as hell but the smile on my face said it all. bonus if the gf doesnt like the scoobs , saves the weight increases the power to weight ratio if shes no extra bagage in the car result youl go faster and save petrol carrying less weight haha -

1. If your sidelights won't switch off look for the parking light switch on top of the steering column . 2. Use the search function on the forum before asking the same old question . 3. The best first mod for an impreza is the exhaust (backbox at least) 4. Buy a classic 5. Make sure you get regular quality oil / filter changes every 3 - 4000 miles 6. Always run the car on good quality fuel - V Power/BP Ultimate/Tesco 99 and add octane booster for safety in an unremapped import 7. Avoid "chip"ing an impreza - get it remapped by an expert like AndyForrest (Apexi for classics, ECUtek for newage) 8. Sell the Newage and buy a Classic 9. Always wait till the engine is nice and warm before giving it full pelt and let it cool down befrore switching it off 10. Upgrade your brakes before modding the engine 11. A VTA dumpvalve isnt really a good idea unless your car is getting remapped to compensate for it. It will momentarily make your car run rich as the ecu gives fuel for air which has been dumped and not recirculated. All you are missing is the gay noise. 12. Solid rear droplinks and a decent suspension geometry set-up are probably one of the best sub-£100 modifications you can do to a standard car. 13. new ages will undertseer when at the limit 14. If you have a classic get Strutt Braces. The improvement is outstanding! If you have a new age...no luck! loL! 15. Clean out the boost solenoid once in a while and dont fill engine oil right up to max. 16. Go to the SIDC track days at knockhill, you get free tuition from an instructor if you want 17. Love every minute of driving and owning it (it will make handing over the credit card much easier) 18. Goto meets/Knockhill/Crail and tell us who you are?We don't bite sometimes 20. Join the SIDC and you'll get discounts on insurance and dealer supplied parts in addition to track days. 19. For some obscure reason there is a lot of mention of goats & homosexuals in here. Do NOT let this put you off our forums. 99% of our members are "normal" but we are all fans of The Hoff. 20. Always prefill the oil filter when doing an oil change 21. Dont believe everything you read on the forums. 22. Send off for a Shell card 23. What ever BHP you get, you will never be happy 24. BLUE is the best colour. 25. Is your car standard? - leave it that way. 26. Watch out for the Impreza's "lift-off" oversteer. It's wicked, particularly on a wet Knockhill! 27. wave to other scoob drivers 28. never buy a set of lexus rear lights 29. sidc love some photography of your beloved 30. dont sell your scoob you will regret it and will end up with another 1 31. The best place to hang out on saturday nights is at OSIDC 32. Modding is for MEN 33. Going JDM is for winners..........leave the chocolate UK's to the Willy Wonka lovers! 34.^^Andy speaks the truth, JDM is the way forward!! 35. K.I.S.S. Keep it simple stupid and don't mod what doesn't need modding (dump valves etc) 36. NEVER let the other half known how much youve spent on the car.she will be jelious! 37. Dont go to Halfords for your servicing parts - they are more likely to give you filters for a lada or skoda. 38. the bright button really does just make the clock brighter 39. Never believe anything read on Ebay 40. Never buy a impreza when you get 10 spare ST2 (spaceman) 41. CLASSIC ARE The GREATEST IMPREZA BUILT. 42. Try not run your impreza top end as the boxes dont last long(went through 3 last time) 43. Believe the petrol gauge - yes it does use that much! 44. if you have mudflaps watch when reversing near kirbs or they get caught on wheels and bye bye back bumper 45. Your steering wheel lock isn't broken, you're supposed to have to turn it 180 degrees before it engages. 46. Boost solenoid 'chatter' isn't necessarily indicative of a fault (although the Scoob moguls say it can be eradicated the by above-mentioned cleaning). 47. Uneven tyre wear is common. 48. 10 miles use out of a set of newage shocks isn't unheard of - but if you're still under warranty, they're covered. 49. The rear proximity alarm (on newer Imprezas) tells blatant lies in the rain. 50. Door panels dent quite easily. 51. It's won't stop entertaining you on twisty roads! 52. Never use the standard horn in an aggressive manner in a road rage situation, you will just look silly!! 53. You will find that Classic owners are really insecure: they talk about how good their cars are over their Newage counterparts. They be fooling themsleves but they soon realise not to listen to what TheWelsho has to say 54. Welsho knows as much about cars as Fish know about Riding Bicycles ! 55. you will find most newage owners have a huge chip on there shoulders because A) they have lost 3/4 of the value of there cars through depreciation over two years B.) they weigh a bloody ton C) they are almost all are blue with gold wheels D) they are jelous of there classic brothers who continually spank them round knockhill 56. Try not to hold your foot to the floor and do 140mph + for mile after mile, they dont like this and tend to go POP, Take it up have a play and bring it down again. 57. If water/coolant pissed out of the front bumper at the passenger side, then you have more than likely over filled your coolant (overflow pipe) and not burst a pipe. 58. You will find that Classic owners who have bought Newage quickly revert to classic's as they find out VERY quickly just how good the classics are compared to floaty newage boats 59. If in absolute doubt, ask the question. someone will know! 60. If you intend to mod your scooby to anything over 400bhp, you'd better off starting with a newage STI.Atleast you'll never need to replace the gearbox unless you are pure brutal. 61. Don't post Ken Block's Gymkhana vid. 62. Forget all this "Classics are this, New Ages are that" rubbish. ALL Scoobs are feckin ace 63. you will always stop what you are doing when you hear a scooby burble approaching... firstly to check its not your car but then just to check it out and listen to it going by 64. Buy the best parts you can afford so you won't need to upgrade them again later 65. Once you start modding it's hard to stop and newage 2.5's rule! 66. Go on the SIDC track days - gives you the safest environment to learn how to handle your car, fairly risk and damage free 67. Buy a 'Hatch' it's the way forward 68. Every time you look at your Subaru you will smile and be glad it's your car a feel good factor (not many cars give you that satisfaction) 69. Dont let you Wife/Girlfriend drive it or you might get it back looking different to how you last seen it. 70. Dont park your car in multi-story car parks or area's were there may be NED's hanging around as your car will either be stolen or vandalised!! 71. Buy a second car (Not a Scoob) so that when your Scoob breaks down you still have a car to drive about in 72. You will never tire of listening to the burble and will laugh like a small child when it pops, bangs and sets off car alarms 73. Folk that have sold their scoobs always seem to miss it when its gone. Learn from this and don't sell ! 74. Dont skimp when buying tyres .. can make a massive difference .. stick to for eg Toyo Proxes, Goodyear Excellence, Michelin Pilots etc.. none of yer Nankang, cheapy rubbish. 75.never buy a used subaru or any used car infact from evans halshaw, unless you like paying for it but never actualy owning it as its always sitting at the back of their garage getting fixed
-
cheers sparky , im sure im being teste on how much i luv scoobs like wi all the hassle im geting wi my first 1. gus - yeah icedog had his 4 for sale but hes sold them now . i put a message up in the wanted section was hoping to get a reply . also sent a wee message away to that subaruwrcspares, askin how much he wanted for one with or without the tyre . as for evans halshaw they dont give a toss, no proof as the misus didnt mention anything after she drove it away on thursday afternoon and it wasnt reported until today due to me being on night shifts and late shifts . though i have noticed a grinding sound kind of coming from teh rear left , nothing visual from the outside rubbing against anything,, was thinking maybe its a wheel bearing or the pads maybe sticking a little .
-
that mean it wouldnt work on my standard car phil...?
-
no to sound daft its an exact match for my wheel but whats the GPN mean? cause when i clicked on the wrx wheels it sauid not for everyday road use as they dont fit standard cars so was wondering if the gpn ones made any difference
-
dinae have any other option than to use it , missus is using her car for work and not many buses at the times i start work at 4am , its only 5miles or so to my work and mostly 30mph roads so will take it easy on it , until i finish at 2pm tomorow then swap it over wi the spare , as for the new tyre sum1 left me a wee suprise in my boot , dunno where its came from but there was a brand new eagle f1 in my boot that wasnt there when i handed the car in , but im keeping mum ( quiet) about it unless someone asks
-

aye cars been running mint so far , only thing is its pulling to the left a lil so think the tracking is off but no sure if thats due to that chunk of alloy missing because that alloy is rear passanger side , so not sure if the toe/tow however u spell it mite be off or if it actualy is the tracking on the front , went on the a68 last nite, nice and quiet not a car in site at soutra hill , with a nice mile and half straight, took it up to 110mph not a problem no worrying noises , so now its just this pulling to the left and the alloy , funds are low so trying to find sumwhere cheap to fix it if fixable or find a cheap gold replacement thats not in particular mint condition, and get the tracking/camber of the tyres/wheels sorted. saw ice dog on here was selling his 4 gold alloys for £300 bud they have now sold , not that i needed the four but just the 1 and £300 was way out the price range, anyone know where a cheap single one would be found if it isnt fixable?
-
hes the damage of the alloy , what do we think people repairable or am i fcuked, and need to get a new one ...?

ok update , the girlfreind got a phonecall saying the car was ready at 2ish today and thot shed suprise me by bringing it home but only after going to her work first to do her shift, ... i get a phone call from her saying shes at tescos down the road and the car wont start ..... go down wi the jump leads it had a flat battery , so while waiting 10 mins to just get some juice in the car i have a nosey around , and the rear passenger alloy has a 3in chuck cleanly snapped off, that defo wasnt there before .. i ask her ( all along containing my anger) if when she picked the car up did they go round wi her to make sure the car was ok when she took the keys, she replys nope they just handed me the keys i got in and drove off to work. now i can already hear and tell what evans halshaw are going to say because at this time of night i cant report it until the tomorow morning , but they will say unless she /i reported it before the car left the forecourt then we have no proof .. but it was either evanshalshaw guy driving it the 10 -15 miles from nobles to portobello or it was nobles who done it and kept quiet and let the guy drive it away........ any sudgestions. and should i get the battery replaced or will a golod drive charge it back up again? im extatic about getin it back but not about finding the alloy is damaged and beyond repair id say , gf swears she hasnt curbed it
-
aye the update is.... the guy down south where i bought the car talking to the misus like shes a bit of a blonde bimbo , when she phoned up chasing the cheque for the new tyre i had to get fitted and asking if there was any chance of some kind of good will gesture.. to which michael bolton dealership manager/principal replyed " the good will gesture is us paying £2000 to get the car fixed because not alot of garages would have done that, there was no problems when it left the dealership for delivery up to scotland and he hasnt received a copy of the receipt for the tyre " which now has apparently gone missing , luckily i kept a copy of the invoice .. even though its been faxed twice now for the attention of him , he wouldnt give the misus his regional managers number or contact details even though she asked for it twice , because she didnt care for the way she was being treated and spoken to by him , and his head mechanic and delivery guy are both liars because they told me the light was on and that was due to it being out of petrol which we all know is a load of bull. and aparently his regional manager didnt tell him to do anything , he only has an opinion which the dealership maanger takes on board but doesnt have to listen to him even though the voice mail he left on my phone contradicts everything hes said. as for the car lol ...... the car is ready up at nobles but they wont release the car until they receive payment from down south , which is geting paid in the form of a cheque which was getting sent out wedensday evening , was hoping it wld arrive today but it hasnt , so they now think it should arrive tomorow so i can pick the car up tomorow , hoping anyway .
