  1. You can get those Turbos with direct impreza fitting, loads of boys on the NASIOC are using them and they are running stupid power from this 16G.... some have figures of 350wbhp +
  2. Screw Ebay turbos, will end in tears, they are all Shat unoless they are second hand and have a sensible name on them..... That thing will cause you no end of trouble!! 380 - 450 bhp from that...... Are they taking the Piss? Thats MD321 territory and they are £1500+!! Tiny Turbo Big Power Done!!! You get what ya pay for
  3. Depending on how you decided ot drive your car during your work run depends on the Fuel economy... basics I know, but if you spend alot of time cruising the fuel economy should remain pretty much as it is now. My car with the TSL333 pack on it was doing 280miles to a full tank which is damn near what a std STI Bug makes anyway. The mapper will keep the cruising fuel ratio at 14:1 Stach which is the perfect AFR mix so you won't be wasting any fuel but you will have the extra oommppff get up and go whe nyou want it Exhaust change and remap will most certainly result in your car making boost earlier than it does now
  4. Man ditch the insurance company... tehy are insuring yuor car and they have no idea what it is, go to A-plan or Keith Micheals, they understand what the mods are etc and don't quote silly figures..... I rattled off all my mods to my insurance company and it still cae in cheaper than every other insurance company
  5. If all you want is something newer and quicker than the FTO just buy a new Fiesta LOL Joking!! Each to their own mate, it appears bugeyes are an aquired taste, and some of them do look very nice
  6. Doubt the car is making 330bhp from just a remap..... the filter, exhaust (100CEL DP and straight through center), Fuel would need to be put on prior, this is what TSL do. Talk to the garage and ask them if they have invoices for the work carried out, if the previous owner was an enthusiast he would have the bills kicking around with the car...... Alternatively ask them if you can run it over to one of the afore mentioned specialists and get it checked out prior to purchase
  7. eerrmmmmm Probably not!!!! Just buy an STI, it's a better starting base for when you start playing, less to change to get the power! The running cost aren't that different, with the exception of insurance.... STI components are stronger as well! i.e. Exhaust change, filter change, Fuel pump, and remap.... WRX = 300bhp tops - STI 340bhp...... Same money outlay but a huge difference in performance gain. If you can't get a Blob STI get a Bug STI.... I would rather have a Bug STI than a Blob WRX
  8. My little Xmod, got the uprated motor, supercharger kit to go on, turbo kit, 4x4 fitted, disc brakes LOL.... car will be good for 99kmh these things are so funny
  9. If it is stolen recovered it will be on record anyway so you can hide the trueth as much as you like but they will HPI it and they will know mate You don't need to give any technical explaination if you don't want to, just say bottom end failure
  10. Nope won't fit, wrong offset, srong stud pattern etc etc 06's are 5x114 Bugeyes are 5x100
  11. Blobeye STI's will run 400bhp all day long on standard internals if the map is correct Gus - Get that intercooler sprayed black or it is going to look tatty and ****e in about 3K miles time
  12. If you have made every other check and you are happy there are no leaks and you have done the MAF test and it gives the symptoms that the MAF is knackered then yup, it could well be that simple mate.... it's the only thing that it can be if you are happy everything els is good and well. Not entirely convinced you need a map change for an intercooler change so it aint that. The other thing that could be wrong is the car is now fueling massivly wrong....... If the car was mapped for 720's fueling the car at say 10% duty cycle at idle (just a figure not the right one) the 650's will be trying to run the same cycle but won't be providing enough fuel because 10% of 650 is loads less than the 720's It kinda makes sense in my head :S
  13. If you are going through the agro yourself then why bother going Standard? If you want to retain the 2.0 then I would recommend getting a decent set of pistons, Rods, bolts, bearings and an STI8 crank Job done cheap as chips and strong as houses! If you want a 2.5 you could always buy a hawkeye lump (think short block is about £1500) if you don't really want anymore power than 380bhp, but this would need some other work doing i.e. injectors, mapping etc etc That's if its the bottom end that is If it's the top end I'm not entirely sure what aftermarket kits you can buy other than Cams sorry
  14. I was unaware that any impreza came with the option to change gear ratios ?? All wheel drive means all wheel drive, there are no ratio selections etc, that is all left for 4wd motors (If I remember correctly) You sure the Hi/low switch was related to the gearbox/Diffs?
  15. With the engine off but ignition on just twist the dash pin in bottom left of the dash and job done
  16. Just phone them and ask them for the size you are after mate and they will sort you out, I know they have those because they offered them to me lol Not sure on the spacers, there has been talk about possibly needing 5mm spacers on the front but that is to clear STI brembos so you should get away with it id you have WRX brakes
  17. Hello chap, yeah you can get away with just fitting the 18" 8.5's on the car, you can go for the std offset but most guys have gone for ET44 so it sits a bit flusher with the arches, no rolling or pulling required and no need for coilovers. These are the 8.5"
  18. What colour is you car???? Gold is shat in my opinion for any colour car (flame suit on)
  19. DR motorsport are very good for kit, i got my first one (STI6) from there and it was faultless, even the colour match and my car was silver
  20. That is pretty much it mate. Intercooler pipe changed (Y-Pipe underneath I believe) Exhaust changed Prodrive Map on the ECU
  21. Springs are no good for this look and you need the smaller housung of the coilovers to get these wheels on
  22. yup I have set my rev limiter, I set it after having a rolling road and seeing where the power is made and lost
  23. It's not ideal for the engin but it won't cause a great deal of damage, if any, if it happens infrequently... the fuel is there, the timing is pulled right back, oil is warm etc etc and the car is designed to rev that far safely. But I don't recomend it at all, it's a pointless exercise as the cars power tails off quite a lot up the very top so it is more productive to change gear
