  1. a dv won't break your engine if you are having the car mapped with it on........ People say that DV's can wreck the engine because they have a tendancy to make the car run a bit a lot richer at times causing Bore wash or some other cobblers like that.
  2. FMIC = Front mount intercooler TD05 18/20G = Bigger turbo Turbos
  3. A decent panel filter is the way forward, the only time you would need the inductino kit is if you it a FMIc as the pipes run straight through where the airbox is Get an FMIC, TD05 and Induction prior to the remap, the K&N induction kit gave me no grief what so ever
  4. oooo aint you the sensitive one...... you feel better now you've let off steam poppet ? LMFAO!! And no the Evo drivers are no better, I've owned one, and had every situation you descirbed above from an Evo driver..... Also their board is full of s****!!!!
  5. Poke the dump valve altogether............ FMIC, induction kit and blank the DV and you'll get a real sound (turbo permitting obviously)
  6. Realistically without a second cat, 100CEL DP, a sensible panel filter and a good map you should be making in the region of 330bhp...... the PPP although good to say you have it on the car is a bit of a rip, I have known people take the car back because they didn't make power on the rollers!
  7. Christ on a bike what map is this?????? It is running amazingly Rich, you must have shares in Shell or something!!!!! The Richness will certainly be drawing your BHP down and spunking all your fuel! The boost curve is toilet as well!! I'm assuming this is a Bugeye STI then given the age? Yes the car certainly needs a remap looking at the graphs, the VF35 is good for 1.5bar and should tail off to 1bar ish at the top end giving you bags more power, as it stands it is pretty much pointless taking this car over 5500rpm which is mad given the redline on the STI's is much much higher! Get it mapped chap and you will be so happy, any map would be an improvement but a good map will see you laughing your head off for months Like I say, I know a chap so feel free to PM me (the same chap mapped my car and it made bloody good figures )
  8. Rolling roads aren't the best things in the world, they can be rigged to read miles under or miles over etc etc, you don't need an ECUTek map on your car, you could go open source on it and it will cost you a lot less. I know a man that can do this for you and will come to you! you shoudl try and post your graphs up chap
  9. Any cambridge bugeye owners want some cheap AST's ??? they have jsut been rebuilt, looking at £500 + your std STI suspension.....
  10. There are a few places that can get them although I am informed the 5x100 were liited in the country Hybrid performance (Talk to Dave) rarerims Driftworks These guys will be able to help you out matey, I think the last shipment Rare rims got in, in Feb only had 3 sets of 5x100's in it.
  11. Cheers chaps....... Its one more thing to cross off my ever growing mod list LOL They are Rota Grid drifts Lewis, Wrong Offset ET38 and 9.5" wide
  12. Question 1 M3 - not a bad car, more common than an STI, sounds ****e and servicing far more expensive.... If you get one pre 2002 they suffer greatly with engine troubles! Boxster - Unless you are doing a masters degree in Hair styling stay away from it, it's not right and it's not clever........ Unlike Yorkies, these are for girls!!! Question 2 The sTI isn't really a "Rare" car no, there are a few about, and the ones that aren't sTI's have been made to look like em anyway and most people can't tell the difference, the only people that the Subaru gets really attention from are children and Lads i ntheir 20's unless you havve something that looks special..... Other than that is goes un-noticed like any other car o nthe road. Question 3 None really, this is exclusivity.... the power in the Type 20 isn't a significant hike fromt eh normal STI really and could probably be obtained by lesser pay out. Other comments : Welcome to the UK (for September) and I wish I had your money LOL What ever you decide to buy I hope you enjoy it
  13. Sorry baz, missed a bit, the calipers are going o nthis car :
  14. Nah I didn't do them myself........ I don't have time for such tasks LOL I had a mate do them, Goes by the name of Ren on Scoobynet and the P1WOC, very handy chap for everything Impreza related
  15. My Bermbo Calipers after a refurb and ready to go on my WRBlue STI Bugeye
  16. Looks like the desginer took on board the comments about people not liking hatches, found a picture in his bin of an Evo6 and then mashed it up with the 2010 Focus........ not pretty, but then it may look nicer in the metal I guess
  17. If my back actually decides to fix itself in the next few days I am there
  18. Stand by my previous statement, waste of money mate!! Is 600quid + really worth a 25-30bhp gain??? IMHO I would get teh essentials purchased and fit them prior to the map mate, don't map the std car.
  19. Depends what ya want and where you want to go with the car!!! The Type R is a far rawer car, it will feel nimble in all the bends, looks wicked, give you a real kick, weaker bottome end, Gearbox is only good for 350bhp after that it is only a matter of time before you strip it! STI8 very refined in comparison, heavier car but better built by a long shot. The interior is up to date, car is comfy, gearbox is bullet proof (650bhp), engine is great AVCS eliminates loads of spool etc, ride will be smoother. Horses for courses but if reliability is massive on your list then defo the STI 8!
  20. pointless exercise mate, you are going to be paying a lot of wedge for absolutely minimum gains! Save up, get a bucket load of mods, shove em all on in one go and THEN map it, you get more for your money and you should only need one map this way other wise you are going to be mapping for every mod you put on afterwards mate.... £££ £££
  21. ta daaaa http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1568734.htm extra £500 and get a far better car than that WRX http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1451866.htm http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1537124.htm http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1545257.htm And now I'm bored of looking Don't rush to buy one mate, take your time and wait for the perfect car for you to come around!
  22. to be honest I think he is asking damn near STI money for a WRX, he states that teh car will run 300bhp with a remap so the engine rebuild was nothing more than an std build and no it won't run 300bhp if that is the case! Some of the mods are ok, some are a little bit ****e i.e. roof scoop but each to their own I guess. but Mods really don't do much for a cars value so as I said, possibly over priced. is there any reason you are looking at a WRX and not an STI?
  23. awesome mate obviously I hope that you make the figures you want but don't get your hopes up for 380bhp buddy, look froward to seeing the results.... who is mapping it for you ?
  24. hmmmmmm Std turbo...... I think it's a VF35 on the STI8's isn't it? That turbo is not much use over 350bhp mate as it simply can't flow more than this. 1.5 would be top on that turbo and it will see you at around about the 350bhp mark tops and then that will litteraly be your lot. Like I say, the turbo is no good for anymore than this.
