I asked if it was PPP and the dealer said no it was done by ECUtek, which implied just a remap. The salesman I was dealing with thought the exhaust had been done but wasn't sure, another salesman said it hadn't. Just doesn't add up. I'm looking elsewhere.

Somethings not adding up then, hence why i've asked on here. Either it's got more done to it, which means when I pick it up I'm not insured, or it's not putting out what they are claiming it to be (more likely!). I asked them to email the spec and all the mods so I can declare to the insurance for a quote, they forwarded me a sheet with all the specs etc. For modifications there was "PERFORMANCE UPGRADE 330BHP, 18" GOLD GT1 ALLOY WHEELS, STI FRONT LIP SPOILER, MESH GRILLE CONVERSION" not sure about this one now to be honest!

Cheers guys, the car itself is being collected from about 50 miles away. Everything seems legit etc, just not sure about the claimed 330bhp from just a remap, the backbox is still standard from what I know, not sure about anything else though! Thing is i've told the insurance that its just been remapped to 330bhp, think i'd be best getting someone to check it over for anything else modified to be safe!

Hi all, newbie here! I'm about to part company with my Honda Civic type-r premier, to purchase a hawkeye 56 plate 2.5t STI from a subaru dealer. I have a question regarding remaps, the car has been remapped, apparently from 280bhp to 330bhp. My question is, is this possible with just a remap? I have been told it was done via the ECUtek route. Should other parts be upgraded at the same time? Such as fuel pump etc? Not sure if it has been done, and i'm not upto speed with modifying a subaru. According to the dealer, it was an enthusiasts car previously and he spent alot of money on it so i'm guessing it will all be fine. Just don't want any problems with the engine etc! Should I get it checked out? Im based in Bristol. Thanks everyone!
