  1. Surrey STI - As stated the go back to Curtis at Powerstation, stripped them off myself and couriered them up there as couldn't get time off work and cheaper to send as it takes a few days.... Sent on tuesday, at powerstation on wednesday, Curtis was out till Thursday, they were sent back on Friday because he didn't finish them till late on Thursday and I got them back on Monday and they were then strapped back to the car that evening PadTwo - The rubber seal inside the shock had decade and let gas in to the oil upsetting everything, this caused the floating piston in the shock to knock like a bugger and make the suspension unadjustable and soggy. Scoobymark - How do I find the shocks for peeling... wouldn't know mate most of it had already peeled within the 15K miles LOL.... it's really not the best coating in the world on these shock it has to be said.
  2. Nope no mod for this mate, unless you intend to chop roll bars, axles and drive shafts Uprating your suspension won't help either! Your only saving grace with putting coilovers on is that they can be rebuilt at a relatively low cost. I have AST's on mine and they lasted 15K miles before they needed a rebuild, not very far I know, but then it cost me £200 all in all to have them rebuilt including courier there and back. The car is so much better on AST's compared to std though, love em!
  3. apparently the shocks on the later cars is a weak point as the hubs don't sit directly under the Top mounts it means the suspension works on a slight Arc putting excess strain on the part....
  4. I had the same problem when I had my P1, garage wanted £1500 for front and read pads and rear discs.... Piss artists!! I got the bits online and then fitted them all myself. £850 for struts.... you can buy a full set of BC coilovers for that price!
  5. unless a tracker is required by your insurance company I really wouldn't bother wasting your money on a tracker!! I have one on my car but that is simply because it was there when I purchased it. IF your car was ever stolen a number of things would happen : the police will find your tracker unit in a hedge and the car will be long gone the car will be found but in 5 million bits or hanging out a shop window Or it will be on fire. Would you seriously want your car back after someone thieving little $%^&^% had ragged it to death and ruined all your hard work ?
  6. Depending on what model you are putting the sensors on be careful of a sandwich plate! I have just fitted prosport gauges to my Bug eye and used the sandwhich plate and it's not very good to be fair. The gauge reads fine when the car is sat still but it appears the sensor is a little bit sensitive and the air flow over the sensor gives it a false reading so when you sat in still it will rise to 84-90 whatever degrees and then when you start moving it drops right down to 70 degrees on mine so I am now having to purchase an oil gallery adapter to fit the sensor on the back of the block away from any air flow! the sandwich plate is fine if you are just looking for somewhere to fit the pressure sensor BUT depending on the size of the pressure sensor you may need to buy an extension pipe (like a rad extender) to put the sensor in a sensible place as it is tight under there ( I had to fit a 2" enxtnesion to get it out of the way) ahh I have just seen you are fitting this to a bugeye...... If you are using a pos to replace the clock the easiest wiring you can use is the clock wiring, it is plenty hefty enough and it has all the connections you need.
  7. It's a load of old bollox!!! the speed limit was imposed because A) the police couldn't keep up and because cars weren't safe enough to travel at great speeds! The modern car technology has taken a huge leap from when these speed limits were put in place.... Tyres are capable of 180mph+, Brakes are generally better (ABS) and are matched to a cars performance on the whole, bodies are stronger and the cars are more stable o nthe road. there is one thing and one thing only that causes accidents on the UK's roads..... that's the person behind the wheel..... that car can't do anything without being told to do it (I know some can but on the whole), it's peoples lack of concentration, lack of any sort of awareness and driving beyond thier ability that causes the accident and not amount of speed cameras of speed limit changes are going to fix this. 50mph is still fast enough to kill anyone so why cut it down from 70mph? Surely the county would be far better off by following the suit of the Germans, make driving lessons and tests far more involved and deifficult, advanced driving lessons should be a must AND THEN we will weed all the a***holes off the road and the speed limit could go UP... that's right UP!!! This whole thing is just another money spinning campaign by the goverment, they know people won't follow it and they will simply keep making money off of us! Just can you imagin the knock on effect this will have on the industry? Truck drivers have had their Taco timings halved already which is causing ALOT of grief for companies as they can't make dead lines as it, now whe nthe trucks have to go slower they have no chance of making any business!! This country is run by compelte f£cking idiots that have no clue in life and the people around them. The sooner people revolt the better!!! Vote me in and I will fix it all for you
  8. SORRY ALL THIS HAS HAD TO BE CANCELLED DUE TO WORK PRESSURES ABROAD FOR ROB. I will get this rescheduled for a few months time. Sorry once again and Rob can't apologise enough ROB ADDED THE FOLLOWING : Just to add to this, i'm sure there is going to be a few unhappy people but work pressures at the garage and abroad mean this is not viable for us. However, I have two new team members starting in 4 weeks time which will make it much easier to hold dyno days galor as we build up to summer time. I have saved the list of runners up until tonight and anyone from the list attending a dyno day at our place in future can run for £15. Regards Rob

  19. Dude, scrap the plan straight off, it will cost you an absolute fortune to do this conversation, it will actually cost you more in parts and labour that it would for you to go out and purchase a Turbo you like and then you'll be left with a shed load of bits that you'll never be able to sell! Flog the sport buddy and get on the hunt for a decent Turbo
