  1. Hire trackday tyres - Really?! If that is the case, careful to avoid slicks unless you want oil or fuel starve. Unless of course your already running a baffled sump and swirl pot setup...
  2. I always preferred knockhill in the rain. Less grip - more fun - less tyre damage. I'm no pro, done a couple of SIDC days and a couple of trackscotland days there. It doesn't matter if you are the fastest or the slowest, what matters is the fun you have out there. You'll probably find the first couple of laps a bit daunting and there are rules on overtaking (not in corners, nor under braking and only in the three straights) as Chris says, be aware if those around you and if someone's caught you up, you just indicate right, pull over to the right (lifting off is optional ) I'd say definitely get down to the trackdays that are organised here, go speak to as many folk as possible and get pax laps in different cars as well as going out yourself. At most days there is an instructor who will be happy to go out with you and give you pointers on lines, braking and your technique.
  3. What a lovely old relic! The castle is nice too...
  4. lol Aye, inlet manifold off is the most common method.
  5. No experience of any as mine came with a samco inlet hose already. Have you tried breakers for another standard one? Matty Baker is bound to have one and i'd guess that it'd be a heap cheaper than any of the above. Fitting an inlet hose is a real PITA!
  6. It's not slating Gordon, I just felt that this being a Subaru site, your comment was only to ensight reaction and you got one. I thought we would all prefer to remember the great times like Chris has done with the video. I personally would prefer that than than to dwell on the enormous loss for the other families.
  7. Do you spend time thinking about this pish or just naturally spout it? Of course we recognise the family lost a father, husband, son and brother all rolled into one. I never had the fortune to know Colin personally but it's my opinion that he would want is to celebrate his balls out attitude to life and Motorsport rather than mourn his passing. Of course that's just my opinion.
  8. ^^^what he said. You should be inspecting the freedom of movement in the caliper pistons.
  9. Best to have it setup Alun. AFAIK, it's approx 3bar static idle. After that I don't know. What's your fuel pump situation?
  10. The one I have is worn through, sorry it took so long to get back.
  11. Feck! I forgot! Will have alook when im home the night.
  12. I may have one here in the garage. Will have a looky before going to work.
  13. I wouldn't narrow it down to just down south Gordon. It's absolutely frightening to see the way people drive up here, even in good conditions. They don't adapt or change their driving for any conditions, be it damp, rain, snow or fog. They drive around looking no further than their bonnet and have little to no time to react. I'm only surprised there aren't more accidents up here.
  14. Good work lads and a good turnout for up this way. Well done for organising and promoting the club!
